@@batzpfsaddict2806 You don't actually bring it to the boil, just warm it thoroughly till it's nice and hot. Less chance of it splashing and getting in your eye that way, if your doing blade blanks you can submerge them in it then leave it cool before fishing them back out. If you're doing one with the handle already on just use a nylon bristle paint brush to apply it then wipe it off with a kitchen towel untill you get the desired tone. Submerging you get a really deep almost black patina, with the brush and wipe method you have a little more control over the finish. It works well but like I say it stinks the house out and burns your eyes and the back of your throat if you spend to long over the pan of hot cider vinegar. Oh one last thing it's best to use a stainless pan if you have one or knackered old one if you don't, saves the misses going off on one. 😂
