Another great video J. Congratulations on all the cool buttons and coins. I think Doug’s coin with the holes is very interesting 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 So glad to see sweet little Jessica digging with y’all. Hope to see y’all again soon. 😃
Always nice to see Charley digging with Y’all. Happy to see Jessica there too! Was really hoping that dandy was another GW Jason!! I was detecting with Mud Dog Mandy in VT yesterday and he has found 11 GWs!! Found 2 last week. That’s crazy! He said there’s a guy with 13. On my bucket list!! Great video! That weather is VT weather lol.
Strong work braving the elements as long as you did- it's no fun when you can't feel your fingers! The group nabbed some nice finds- surely there'll be more on your next trip!
Ole Douggie been a swinger since swingers started swinging 🎵🎺🎷🎶Kudos to all of you,! The world needs more good sports like you, I think you warmed the air temperature up with all your laughing! Love you Doug 🥰
Awesome finds! The one button looks a little like an octopus design ? Doug always helps make the adventure fun with his witty comments and Lynn brings beauty and knowledge to the treasure hunt : )
Love the etched tombac button you found. The center may have had a set stone or glass insert . I found an almost identical etched button (minus the center hole) on a Bouquet military camp here in Ohio. The nice thing here is we can put a definite date on these artifacts. Bouquet, with a force of about 1500, was camped her one day in October , 1764.
Come, July, and August, when we’re all sweating our butts off metal detecting, we are all going to miss this cold weather, I know I am! Good hunting! 👍
Awesome video. Really enjoyed watching you all finding those cool relics and coins, Jason popping out the sterling thimble and the musket ball and the sun burst button. It's bitter cold here in Michigan too can't wait until spring
I'm jealous guys. Haven't been able to really go out at all. Fist time in 5 years. Congrats grats on all the Buttons. Some of them are amazingly ornate. Love the Coppers. Take Care and try to stay warm. Going to be -5 here tonight. Wind chill on my day off is -4.
very cool hunt. Rich Van Winkle's button to me looks like Fiddlehead ferns. Quite the spring treat for early greens in New England. We're off to see the whizzers.
Another fun hunt. Maybe someday I'll make it to the East coast for a chance to dig *old* goodies. I like the wheat penny book plan. That'll be fun to see how full it gets by the end of the year. Here in CA I get excited to find wheat pennies because (for the most part) that is what is old here. And unfortunately, the "old" fields are all (getting) covered with urban growth construction, so all that opportunity is gone or going away pretty fast. Cheers.
Friends, could you do a follow-up video that shows what your treasures look like after you've finished cleaning them? I'm curious to learn how "good" you can make an old coin look, and how much detail can you reveal? Also, your enthusiasm for your craft is wonderful!
It is 50+ degrees here and watching y’all out there my fingers got ice cold! 😂 Some good digs. I hope it’s much warmer the next time you go out there. Good luck!!
Thanks for sharing and all the work... I can only do maybe hour-long hunts because of bad hips and shoulders... (Almost 70 Years Old) But enjoy watching these videos!!!
Headphones first thing on last thing off. Need some of those battery powered gloves they are nice. Way to go on making a video every week regardless of the weather. Thankyou
Should call him the Button Bandit. Lol. Those are all killer finds. I can't wait to search the fields here. Don't know if any GW buttons exist in SC, but I guess I'll find out.
If you take the works toilet bowl cleaner and soak the coins in it that you can't identify it will clean out the grim . And it will help you see the image. Kathy from Michigan.
How cold is too cold ha ha -29 Celsius here tonight overnight and 6-8 more inches of snow ha ha ha ha. If the ground is thawed and it's not pouring rain it's never too cold to go dirt swinging.
@Quarter Hoarder us crazy canadians live with freezing Temps 6-7 months of the year so we don't mind a chilly wind now and again ha ha ha glad you guys braved the cold for a half days hunt nice finds as always thanks for sharing the adventure
Sorry about the deep freeze You guys all bring a thermos of Hot Chocolate or Hot Tea Hot Coffee and something to eat maybe a Turkey , Roast beef, some kind of Sandwich and pocket warmers electric socks , Still the Finds Were period , I just don't want my Quarter Hoarder friends frost bitten and hyperthermia bitten !
Hi, First time watching one of your videos. Great place to shoot... What machine was Doug using where he said it was scratchy sounding for the 1/2 cent? I ask because in upstate NY where I'm from, our silver is scratchy sounding and ID jumpy almost all the time on a Vanquish 440. Thanks for a nice video..
Were those bite marks on the musket ball? Sometimes, people would chew on them to stimulate saliva and combat dry mouth, or bite during a period no anesthetic surgery. Just wondering.
@@dogtagdoug6751 ☺☺at a short period of time in the mid 80's I work for a slaughter/wholesale meat company in Franklin co. Pa. We would get our bacon in bulk. Being an employee, I was able to purchase it at their cost, so I ate a lot of bacon then. Once I found nipples on the bacon. So it wasn't unusual for my wanna be comedian wife to say that we were having fried pig nipples instead of saying bacon.
