Argghh! Right at the start a pet peeve of mine that I see a lot in these goofy (yet somehow entertaining) stories. Emily did her best to support her mom because "I owed her for raising me." No. No she didn't. Children do not owe their parents for raising them. The parents made the decision to have the children, not the other way around, and therefore it is the parents' RESPONSIBILTY to raise the children that THEY DECIDED to have. There are so many scriptures about how to bring up children and not only is this kind of thinking not in any of them, it's the exact opposite: Don't provoke them, Don't look down on them, and perilous times will come where people are without natural affection. If you think your kids owe you because you threw your ankles in the air then you don't love them, and you greedy hard-hearted fools need to just not reproduce. UGH!
