Hey Folks! Below is the full list of changes to the deck. Amazing work as always. I know you probably need to move onto brothers war next but if you did the alternate commanders for each of theses precons that would ne amazing. Especially Marneus and Be' Lakor
Most videos I see focus on Calgar, so it's nice to see Greyfax take the spotlight. Her playstyle seems much more funner and more controlling which is a playstyle I enjoy. Thanks for the video man! I'm definitely gonna try this one out.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I saw most other content creators who covered this build go with Calgar - which is arguably the better option for a pure token build - but I always want to cover the face commander in these builds whenever I can and there is more than enough in the core build to make Greyfax viable as the commander of the build.
Awesome upgrade, I thought you would go for the mass tokens route but this seems way more unique and fun, would love to get my hands now on any of these four decks and make the upgrades
Glad you enjoyed my take on it! From what I understand, WotC is printing more waves of these precons, so hopefully you'll be able to acquire one at a reasonable price instead of the outrageous prices some vendors are selling them for now.
Thank you for focusing on Greyfax. So many people lean towards Marneus but I always liked the ability to tap threats at will, however have been having issues playing this deck vs friends decks that aren't precons. Going to give this upgrade a go, some recommendations are Royal Assassin, and Illusionists Bracers for some double tapping. Great video/explanations.
Such a pity this video was made some time before Wilds of Eldraine dropped, Hylda seems like a perfect fit for what you have going on here. Circle of verity too!
Verity Circle would be a good way to get extra value from our tap down abilities. I do like the short format style and I think it would be great for any Acorn or other un-set commanders
Verity Circle would definitely get us much more on demand cared advantage from our commander and other tap down effects - good suggestion! Glad you enjoyed the shorter format - I'd have to tweak it a bit to still keep it short and still cover all 99 cards, but it may be worth looking into. Thanks for the Feedback!
Would you consider doing a deckbuild for Marneus using the Precon? I love the way you make your builds and detail why you pick cards for each option, but being a big Warhammer fan I want to be able to run this deck in two different ways. No one does it like you, Grazzet. I've followed your pre-con upgrades for Firkraag and the Necron Dynasty builds and I've been banned from playing them against my wife because I have so much fun with them.
Glad to hear that you're getting so much mileage out of my builds! Sadly, I do not have the time at the moment to go back to revisit The Forces of the Imperium Precon now (with All Will be One and its precons right around the corner) but I would not be opposed to covering Marneus if I do get a chance to go back to cover older builds.
Sacrilege I know - but with all our untapping sources and artifact synergies, rocks are actually better in this build than land based ramp, so sadly Burnished Hart will have to be sidelined in this build.
Okay okay I get exterminatus is counterproductive to the board state were trying to set up, but how can I NOT have it in when the deck is so inquisition themed.
Thanks for putting this together. This was impressive. I appreciate the summaries and the additional stats. I think land is often one of the most overlooked power houses in the game.
Its so hard to upgrade this deck, not coz it's hard to find good cards, but the fact the art is so good and so fitting that it would hurt to remove the cards. I got this deck on the way and I honestly don't think I can do it!
First time viewer. Love this format. No BS just the facts and you were able to quickly explain each removal and addition clearly and concisely. Even explaining where the removed cards should go in other style decks. please expand on higher budget upgrades at the end of the video, and which cards would be removed if a higher budget card is chosen.
Disorder in the Court would make for a solid inclusion as both a way to protect board from a wipe or remove our opponents board if we're going in for an alpha strike - all while creating a decent amount of clues for us to use as well. Great suggestion!
Hi Grazzet, appreciate what you have done here as well as the work punt into all the other builds, I am using your builds as the number 1 reference point in terms of upgrading the deck. Is it too much to ask for the removal list when following your sidegrades and upgrades as how you have done for the Food and Fellowship upgrade? Thank you so much!
> Inquisitor Greyfax ...I was digging while listening to the video (Bam! Drumbellower!), and I found quite a few bits here and there, though I based my brew on a combination of both my collection and plenty of the precon's default lineup. The deck is now a bit weird, with life drain and some odd recursion, and I feel as if I want to add more. I kicked out the Knight Paladin and the Reaver vehicles and swapped them into Lulu//Veteran Soldier vehicles, and Inquisitor Greyfax could actually use Lulu due to the clue token production.
Fair enough - of the all the commanders from the 40k precons, Greyfax is probably the one that needs the most changes to work optimally with her gimmick.
I'd love to tackle that build but sadly with The Brothers War releasing I'm going to have my hands full with the precon upgrades and then new commanders from the main set. Still, if I have the time further down the line, I'd wouldn't be opposed to getting a build done for him (or the other alternate commanders in all the 40l precons for that matter).
Eloise Nephalia Sleuth and Academy Manufactor are surprising sidegrades to miss but not everything can be covered. As for the format of the videos themselves, I sure liked it - even if I was pleasantly surprised by them coming up on Wednesday rather than Saturday
Eloise Nephalia Sleuth and Academy Manufactor would both be great additions for even more artifact creation. Thanks for the feedback - I wanted to see if I could release some shorter form content and midweek seemed like a good time.
So you're implying that the Inquisition needs upgrades? That sounds like some HERESY! *cue dakka and Exterminatus* Jokes aside, amazing vid as always! Day 446 of waiting for the face reveal. So, now that all the upgrades have been finished... got a favourite?
Looks like I'm going to have to keep looking over my shoulder for Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors from now on.... Glad you enjoyed the build and thanks for the support as always! My favorite of these builds.... That's a hard question, but if I had to pick 1 I would say The Tyranid Swarm build - I'm a sucker for +1/+1 counter builds and big creatures and it ticks all those boxes. A close second though would be The Ruinous Powers precon through - Abaddon has a lot of potential as a very scary commander.
Willbreaker is a great card for Greyfax. Junk Winder can be quite nasty too. Sage of Lat-Nam is a good way to cash in Clues for free, would work just right with your untappers. I really like Greyfax, the way the controls the field, I am trying to find more payoffs for tapping and locking down creatures.
I very much agree with your suggestions! Willbreaker efficacy turns our commanders ability (and other targeting abilities as well) into theft removal, Junk Winder can usually come down for only double blue and turn our tapdown into Stun counter, and Sage of Lat-Name can more easily turn all our clues into card advantage without us having to spend the mana! Great Suggestions!
Great guide! I didn't mind the short version, a little face pace but to the point and I could pause and rewind when needed. Your breakdowns and explanations are what truly make the videos so good. I would love your take on a build revolving around Marneus Calgar and his token/card draw ability, even if it's just a deck list and swaps in the comments!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the Feedback! I sadly do not have enough time currently to tackle a build around Marneus Calgar, but since a lot of folks have been asking for him (as well as some of the alternate commanders from the Warhammer 40 precons), I may just put him in a poll in the future, so stay tuned.
