I think going white is possible pack 1. Umori is not a BG card because of the hybrid mana so there wasn't really a reason to focus on BG this hard. Probably would've missed it also though.

According to some channel Umori is actually pretty deec for constructed mono-green stompy ... but for limited, it's probably to much of a burdon not having removal (maybe in a best of 3 it's easier to work around it)

Umori is broken in limited. Just play 3, 4 or even 5 colors and all good creatures.

No removal doesn't matter as much when you're almost guaranteed to have a better board than your opponent. Not only do you get a free 4/5 on turn 4, he also helps power out the rest of your hand, so it's pretty hard to fall behind (which is when removal is most important to have).
