Thanks for the video. They look about the same as the older Ford cars and trucks. Going to be a little more involved on mine however since the rear axle is leaking oil into one side.
Yes, very much like car or pickup brakes. The axle seal isn't too bad, hopefully yours has the later style axle which has a nut holding the bearing in place rather than the sweat collar, those things are a PITA. Thanks for watching!
Check your axle seals, you may be getting grease on the brake shoes, also make sure the pedals are adjusted up so you don't have to much travel. If it isn't those things it may be time for new shoes. Good luck and thanks for watching!
My tractor was leaking oil into brake pads and the machine would not stop when loaded. I had to buy the oil seals and the problem ended. but a tractor with no brakes is the most dangerous thing to drive around. i hit a donkey and luckily the machine never stopped but pushed the animal out of the way and the trailer was loaded with murram. it wasnt interesting at all. the oil seals are cheap but the job is tearing down the rear axles to access the seals.
I wish you had showed what you did a little bit closer. I am not a car guy and I am lucky if I know where to put the gas. I was hoping to get a closer view of how to do this job.
Diesels often blow black smoke under load, the governor in the injector pump kicks in and the engine is getting more fuel than it can burn efficiently. Unless it's something that hadn't happened before I wouldn't worry about it, if its new could be a weak injector, pump timing,,,,,,, you will have to check a few things out to find out what's wrong. Thanks for watching!
Any chance you could help me out? I am looking for the seal part numbers on for the rear end on this exact tractor. I've looked everywhere. Can't find them. Do you have a good source or would you happen to know the part number?
If you check in at partstore.agriculture.newholland.com/us/parts-search.html#epc::model_find you can put your model number in the search bar and view the part book for most machines Ford/ New Holland have built. Thanks for watching!
After a couple of hours slashing. I stopped and noticed 1 of my brakes was binding a squealing until I picked up some speed again. How can I adjust this any help would be appreciated I just bought the tractor.
It's a ford 3000. Also the pto keeps disengaging just in normal slashing circumstances I have to keep my heel on the lever to keep it engaged any thoughts on what could be going on there
Your right, I've done it with a long screw driver and vise-grips before. The brake tool is a cheap one, less than $20, I think it was form Princess Auto (kinda the Canadian version of Harbour Freight). Thanks for watching!
@@CanadianRedneck15 I have done the brake pad replacement. you can imagine i had to call my wife to assist me put the spring into place. i felt very embarassed. i had no choice. i thought it was an easy job.
@@francismalonza6114 Don't be embarrassed for needing help, my father helps me out a lot with the repairs as you can see by his appearance in a lot of my videos!
@@CanadianRedneck15 Fantastic. i have realised that some tractor problems are common for all of us. thanks for the encouragement. i will keep following your videos
