I recently discovered your channel and love these videos on this tractor. I recently bought a Ford 2000 Diesel and love it. Definitely earned a new subscriber and looking forward to another Ford 5000 video
Thanks for nice video about the Ford 5000 tractor - Bought a farm and there was a Ford 5000 i the barn - hasnt been running for 10-15 years. Just fixed it and it is running like and strong Bull💪🏼 All the best from Denmark🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
I would like to use a hammer to this job. Be carfull to screw on the bolt in center. Use the hammer first before you screw on the center bolt. The most important to get the o- ring inside metal edge.
I also recently discovered your channel and subscribed. I inherited a Ford 5000 in similar condition so your channel is extremely helpful. What type of oil did you use when you changed the oil?
I honestly do not remember. But I am a fan of Shell Rotella for diesel engines. But I think I used the cheaper stuff from tractor supply (Traveller) this time because its what I had on hand.
I have a Ford 4100 1977 and my steering pump was losing oil all the time and the hydraulic system was so clear and had no leaks but when i checked the engine oil level it was always filling up over the level , i opened the steering pump and found that the axle that rotates by the gear of engine has play in the bearings and the oil seal was leaking all the time… and the oil of the steering pump was going at the engine all the time🤦♂️
Mine has been leaking at the line you didn’t remove on the bottom. I’ve changed fittings and line and still leaks at the joint? Do I have a blockage in the column somewhere maybe?
Maybe there is damage on one of the mating surfaces, the side you did not change? Parker makes a special teflon washer you can use on these flared fitting to help with this.
Kind of a long story. Check out my playlist for this one. The first video explains it all. Including how i first saw this tractor years ago and forgot where it was!!
