I have a 1955 Ford 650 and I would not take anything for it. Had it for about 25 or 30 years. First thing I did with it was disc the garden and hit a apple tree. I still use it but not as much. It sits more than I use it. I'm disabled and can't do as much as I used to. I let the yard too long so I told dad I would just bushog it. He went to get gas and I got the tractor out. When I turned the gas on my hand was wet with gas. The rubber oring between the tank & cutoff was pouring. I had to take the front bumper off & losing the hood & till it forward. I took the gas tank off.I replaced the oring with one I had but it didn't work. I am going to get the right one. One good thing if you got the money there is anything you can't buy for it. You can buy replacement hood parts .THANKS FOR THE Video !
thanks for the video. while this isnt a simpler description i believe its more accurate... VENTURI , the flow of air through the venturi speeds up in the restriction and slows down after it...where it is returning to normal rate of flow it has a low pressure "vacuum" where the fuel is sucked into the intake ...no pump or pressure its vacuum.
I have a 1957 Ford 640 and I absolutely love it! Had it probably about 17 years and it has always been a great one. It even is still the 6V positive ground system! I use it to mainly mow my 3 acres with a 72” BushHog finish mower. Love your videos on this 660!
The old girl deserves a full restoration. I have an 8n, but wish I had an NAA or 600 series for live hydraulics and PTO. Still, the 8n gets the jobs done that I need to do!
So you think that the N series carb you robbed parts from made the newer 660 carb work better? The TSX33 or TSX241 parts from the N series carb are the same specifications? Well the 134 cubic inch engine that the 660 has was a real good engine for Ford. The one question I have is does your 660 have a two stage clutch or just a single? A two stage clutch means it has live PTO. You push the clutch pedal all the way down and put the PTO lever in gear, then let the clutch half way up and then the gears engauge the trans to move the tractor forward. If you push the clutch pedal half way down the tractor will stop the forward movement while the PTO will continual to run. Very nice when using the PTO.
We mainly ended up just using the floats in the 660 carb, but yes, this one is a twin stage clutch for the live PTO which is why we was super excited to get our hands on this one! Like I said, we never have had a Ford tractor, but seems like this little jewel is going to be a handy tractor to have around!
