Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it! And I don’t like those long winded videos either!

Tip for you. Remve your radiator cap and stick a shop vac hose in the filler neck (not down in the antifreeze) and pack with a rag. Turn on the vac and remove the heater. The vac will keep you from taking a shower.

Your video makes it simple and you are straight to the point and not long and drawn out

Great video. Appreciate straight and to the point. Sometimes I wonder if RU-vid creators get paid by the minute of video posted. I'll be doing my own this week rather than taking it to the shop.

We get paid for watch time hours. The longer the audience watches, the more we get paid. That’s why you see guys rambling on and on with nonsense. My opinion anyways lol

I was trying to start my 02 F350 7.3 in 16 degrees (real feel 8 degrees). I'll try plugging in my block heater tomorrow. It's good to know the design is so simple. Reminds me of the heating element inside a water heater for a house. Excellent work sir 👍

@@ernestjacobs3999 hello, yes, the block heater worked just fine and allowed the block to heat up enough to start the truck. I made two videos recently trying to start my truck. I also forgot that my fuel bowl heater is unplugged 😂

Thanks! You create great camera angles with very still shots. I'll be doing this tomorrow because I'm an idiot and backed out without unplugging it. Luckily it just snapped the cord in half, and I was well overdue for a new cord. I had driven down the road a few times with it dangling down from the bottom. Mine was coming out of the bottom of the truck, but I like your idea or bringing the cord out the grill. There is much less chance of it falling down the the ground while I'm driving.

I did it the next day, it was very easy! My old cord didn't have a retainer nut to lock iton it either, it just had that little metal colar. Thanks again brother!

Thanks for making the vid the other one the guy had the whole cab off. Realistically 99% of us aren’t gonna have our trucks broke down that far

0:36 They don't all have a threaded collar. That's usually only on aftermarket cords. The OEM cord just has that metal piece with the prongs that grips onto the threads. Also, a friend of mine gave me a tip to prevent coolant loss. Hook a shop vac up to the degas tank and turn it on just as the coolant starts to dribble out when removing the heating element. You will have minimal (if any) coolant loss.

That’s an excellent idea! Thanks for the information!

Interesting that when you drain the radiator that there is still coolant in there. Makes me want to drain that as well when I do a coolant change.

So it wasn't completely clear the way you said it in the video... Did you drain the coolant first or was that all that came out with it full?

Do anyone happen to know the length of the heating element ? I need to convert mine to 240v, and found one for a John Deere with 3/4 npt threads, but the element is 6.69 inches. I belive the original is around 6 inches? Would this fit ?
