I live in Saskatchewan so for me a hard top is non negotiable . It will mostly be driven in the city but I was really concerned about the noise from a hard top if I took it on the highway. Now that I’ve decided to get the hard top / soft top package wind noise on highway trips doesn’t concern me. Having an easy to convert convertible six month out of the year far outweighs the disadvantage of occasion wind noise. I’m ordering the 2024 Outer Banks in Azure Grey with the Blue/Grey interior and the 2.7 L 4A engine next week. I can’t wait !

Hi Johny. Happy Thanksgiving! Really appreciate all the Bronco content and advice. 👍🏼 It would be great to see how the Bronco handles snow and ice both on and off road particularly with the 35’s. Hello to Marie and Winston, now go feed that poodle! 😎

I was pleasantly surprised by the acceleration of the 2.7 in my 2 door OBX in 4L, with the rear locker locked, while Baja mode was selected. It was sooo stupid launching in the loose dirt! Donut mode is equally entertaining.

I just discovered your videos and I really appreciate them! I am completely torn between the Badlands non-SAS and SAS models. In either case, the vehicle would be a 4 door V6. I would love to see a comparison test between the two, particularly with respect to road noise and ride comfort differences. My understanding is that the non-SAS Badlands is also slightly lower to the ground than the SAS version, while some say the non-SAS version actually has additional suspension travel. And, like others, I wonder how Ford justifies the crash bar removal on the SAS versions. I note that in one of your videos, you mentioned how well your non-SAS Badlands handled severe washboard road at speed. I wonder how an SAS Bronco would have compared.

I want to dwelve deep into the questions and answers that your comment raises. This will require a full video. As for road noise and handling of bumps I'm very impressed with the Sasquatch package. I like how high ans wide it looks. A non sasquatch Badlands is a happy medium between a regular model and any sasquatch model. You get the suspension bit being thst it is in-between in height and tire size of a regular vs sasquatch it is a happy medium. Tire noise is not much different but mpg works out to about .6 BTW, badlands and Sasq. I'd suspect 1 to 1.5mpg between a regular and a sasquatch. For me the bilstein suspension is must so Badlandsor Black Diamonds are a must. My happy medium is going sasquatch Outerbanks. Badlands with high package works as well. Regular Beoncos look a little small to my liking but if Budget is a primary factor than straight Badlands is a great machine and and even a sasquatch Black Diamond is great too. What I would avoid is the cloth interior for offroad purposes as well as the overall look of the vehicle.

@@Johnnyscarcarereviews Johnny, thank you for writing back! I am finding that I need to review your videos, because you have addressed some of these issues I raise in a number of them! After I posted this, I watched the one with you and Marie comparing your Outer Banks Sasquatch to your "base" Badlands. You two addressed some of my concerns about choices in that one, too. I live in Washington State, but we own some mining property outside of Sun Valley, Idaho, and my occasional backcountry excursions there make this a BadLands appealing due to the front stabilizer release feature. Our drive there involves 20 or 30 miles of TERRIBLE washboard primitive road, and finally, we tackle hill climbing trails which become impassible due to eroded areas leading to high centering, at least in more typical old S10 Blazers, newer pickups, Suburbans and Tahoes, etc. I am drawn to the non-SAS Badlands because its ride height might be a little more accessible to my mother (and at age 96, every extra little bit of height makes things harder in that regard), and I am guessing it has most of the Sasquatch ability in a little more subtle package. Whatever I get, I will want the Lux package as well. Haven't decided on leather or vinyl, but I assume that the leather comes with carpet, even on the Badlands...? The draining ability of a non-carpeted floor appeals to me, but I wonder if the carpeted interior is significantly quieter. I'm not looking for the quietude of my 2020 F-150 Lariat, as I have also enjoyed my essentially stock '90 Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible for the last 30 years (hardly quiet). But the quieter the better. My only exposure to the current Bronco is a recent test drive in a demo soft-top WildTrak, and the salesman and I were both surprised by the amount of wind noise. Upon returning to the dealership, we discovered that the left rear window was not lowering automatically with the open door functionality, so the glass was fixed in the raised position and resting on the outside of the top. I wish I had manually repositioned the glass correctly into the weather-stripping, and gone on another drive since I probably didn't get a fair impression. I look forward to your future commentary! @Johnnyscarcarereviews
@Johnnyscarcarereviews 2 года назад
That would be great. Dealer allotments vs what the plant can produce vs regional ans dealer distribution make 1 general list too complicated. Your dealer "should" have an idea of where you are on their order list but constraints messes around with that such as a 2 door sasquatch.

I wish ford made a bronco that the top did not come off. You would not be worried about wind noise and you would not be waiting on the mic top which is one of fords delay in getting your vehicle. I know that there is a lot of people out there who could care less about removing their top.

@Johnnyscarcarereviews
@Johnnyscarcarereviews 2 года назад
Yes the hard top will cost more later on but so far winter and the soft top are not that bad. I expect 2800 to 5000usd for a hard top depending on the model and aftermarket company. Everyone I know who had to switch to soft top to get it sooner is happy. Personally I don't think I'll buy a hard top unless it's 2 or 3 years down the road and I can trade in at a high resale value and get a painted top from factory on say a 2023 or 2024 Bronco.

GEORGE , We love your set up and would have gone thst way likely but the only option was to take what is available. We our Outerbanks, sasquatch, grey and blue leather...(Marie doesn't know yet the interior colors) 12 inch screen so high pack and cactus grey. She does not like the color and I do. Compromised couples choice would have been Race red, Rapid Red or her color was yellow but i fear id get tired of it. Cactus will be classic for a year 1 Bronco so I'm down for it. George I will make a video for you and all others who are thinking Badlands take off K02s or for those wanting an all around tire. Thank you for trusting me with your question. It depends on the dealer. Some dealers sold under MSRP and drew in way to many orders for the size of the dealer and at those dealers it could take years of your at the back of the list. Other dealers are in areas that didn't have as much of a Bronco craze and getting one there if there are only 2 or 3 months of production reserved ahead of you could mean getting built in April or May. Ofcourse softop anywhere speeds things up. I mentioned last summer I didn't believe all seven sins meant no Bronco by Xmas so I kept my 2.7l and hitch and was 3 weeks le making the swap to soft top and got delivered September 10th.

@@Johnnyscarcarereviews We appreciate you. My dealer charged me MSRP with no markup. I am in LA so I went to Galpin Ford and ordered the Wildtrack with every option including the hard top. Hopefully I made the right choice. I have never even been off roading in my life, just wanted a cool SUV. I currently have a daily Chevy Volt, a Ferrari 458 spider as an investment and 1992 BMW 850i also as an invest with 65k miles on it. This would be for the weekends and hopefully I would do some cool stuff with it like going off roading. What would you recommend to or would suggest? I also ordered the color cactus grey. Thank you for your time and reply.

I mentioned it in one of the recent news episodes. Ford has decided to produce more Broncos than Rangers at the Michigan plant. if I recall it's bout 4 to 1. This will help them catch up but I concluded that tops are still limiting factor for production so swap to soft top to very likely jump months ahead as the factory has got to build and is dedicated to building Broncos so if you want it sooner make your BronCo buildable. Jeffrey I hope this helps and if not already done consider joining the community by subscribing.

Thank you so much for the support and for trusting me with giving recommendations. First of all it must be said....you my friend have an incredible garage. I think the Wildtrak and cactus grey are good investment colors. I'd recommend not doing trails with branches but your area the risk is sliding off a rock and rolling it so watch out in regards to rock climbing. slipping off a rock happens easily and quickly. Get a trail app with rating of difficulty and play it safe. Anyways high speed deserting runs or in my case fields slash half forest are exciting. Also Ford gave us 35 tires that cost a fortune and in the bendies you don't feel like your going fast even when you screeching the tires. very little body roll so keep this in mind for tire wear and don't forget to rotate tires every 4 to 5000 miles. I'd also do oil changes at this frequency. When you are hard on the throttle let the engine warm up forst and let it cool down before shutting off. Use a great oil filter. I hope I've been helpful ND if so consider subscribing to join the community if not already done

@@Johnnyscarcarereviews yes, and it works somewhat from the standpoint of isolating noise from the top. This is an air leakage sound, it's rather noisy, I think that it is likely from the front or rear seams. I am going to try to isolate it with some duct tape.
