Replacing the spindle bearings and seals on a 1994 bronco.
Applies to:
1994-1996 broncos and 4X4 F150s
Similar:
1980-1993 Broncos and 4X4 F150s & F250s
These models are similar but use two spindle nuts and a locking spacer instead of one locking nut.

This is a really great video. I like how you demonstrate using the proper tools that make this job rather easy, such as the spindle puller, instead of the beat-it-with-a-2x4 method.

Old but gold. Love these kinds of videos. For anyone who stumbles upon this comment, the later model auto locking hubs on d44 TTB Axles have a different spindle nut that won’t come off with a castle socket. it uses instead a 2 1/4” or 2 1/2” spindle nut socket that I got from Napa. I don’t remember exactly the correct size but this was a problem i dealt with a while ago and had a very hard time finding any information on it. Hope this can help someone

I’m having the same issues right now. Anyway you could find out the size for sure? Also, were you able to go get it immediately, or did you have to order it?

Ryan Fitz Napa had it in stock when I went and I’m 90% sure it’s 2.5” inch spindle nut socket. You can return if it’s the wrong size

Thanks so much my friend. I’ve been searching for the socket, but according to my online searches no one has it in stock. I’m gonna go on a quest to try and find it in person tomorrow. Thanks again, it’s been a huge help.

Great info here! the 94 / 95 / 96 bronco and f150 can have a 2 piece hub seal. the 2 piece hub seal requires a spindle and hub designed for the 2 piece hub seal. i have converted one side of my truck to the pre 95(i think) one piece hub seal because at some point i was given a one piece spindle with a two piece hub. it was a nightmare. from what ive gathered the 2 piece hub seal is blue(the seal pressed in the hub). and the one piece is orange.

For anyone else seeing this comment in the future: the two piece hub seal change happened at some point halfway through 1995. I have an early 1995 Bronco with a single seal hub.

i dont have a bronco, i have a 99 ford f150 4.6 2wd. the way it looks to take off the spindle is similiar, but im just wondering if there is any other way to take it of without damaging it too much. cause i dont have the appropriate tools to do so.

What is the part number for your "spindle removal tool"? I got to the point in your video where you remove the spindle from the steering knuckle with that tool and a slide hammer (which I have...) and do not want to resort to the hammer and block of wood method.Thanks for a great video

i have a 95 bronco and when i apply the brakes it makes a loud noise i thought it was the brake pads so i replaced them but that wasnt it i have been told that my spindle bearings could be worn out and that is the noise

Don’t you need to grease the needles after you wife off factory grease. I’m sure you did, just didn’t mention it. Good video. That spindle puller is a headache saver.

Great videos, both parts, but... would be very helpful to include make, model, year of vehicle somewhere. Especially the title in case someone is looking for "spindle bearing for ..."

Apologies if someone already asked, but does this apply to the auto hubs on an Eddie Bauer?

video?? time 9:03 you show flanged seal,( same seal i have). I can't find that same flanged style seal ? 12:28 on video shows a different seal being installed or did you install "flanged seal" under the black spacer seal you taped in place?? What part numbers if you know ?? the seal kit i bought has seal no flange or spring just soft rubber and black spacer seal...thanks for the nice video...

The seal has a metal frame with a plastic flange. The plastic flange broke off the old one before I pulled it. The new one looks different because the plastic flange is still intact.

good video, but a torque wrench definately not a good tool to use as a breaker bar
@pfun41
@pfun41 9 лет назад
keith179150 It's a very old cheap broken torque wrench. It only gets used as a giant ratchet/breaker bar. I have dedicated torque wrenches that are stored in protective cases for torquing bolts.

I laughed a bit when he said "breaker bar" and then pulled out a torque wrench. If it works, it works.

why theirs no pickup truck 8 lug 4x4 a lot of bronco. need vídeo. for a 1988 4x4. my lug nut keep coming loos why. ford truck
@robertmckeown3014
@robertmckeown3014 7 лет назад
You have worn wheel studs and/or lug nuts. Wheel stud replacement is the same on all F series (F150, F250 and Bronco). Remove the hub and beat the stud out (front towards back). Install the new studs by beating them in (back towards front) making sure the spindles are aligned. That's it.
