You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Your dexterity is impressive and beyond reproach. It took me over a 1/2 hour with BOTH hands. But you explained everything very clearly. Thank you for tutorial, you saved me $45 at the dealership for just putting in the tumblers.
As always, I just want to take the time today to say Thank you! I had 2 door locks to assemble today for a 2005 Ford F450 6.0L. This video prepare me before the job and made everthing very simple. Again Thank you for everything.
Thank you very much for this video. My truck was broken into and dealer wanted 800 to do this. I purchased the kit you showed and a savage yard handle and did this for $70. This is a great video and easy to follow. Thanks again
Never thought I would be searching up a video about this let alone never thought there would be a video about this but you made it beyond easy thank you so much
Somebody tried to steal my 2000 f150 and when you buy this piece it seems liek rocket science. You made it easy and looking down at the bag after your video i recognize everything thanks!!
Hahhaa thank you!! I say ok alot just to make sure you guys are following me.. its a little habit i picked up from my health teacher lol ..thank you!! Hope your having a nice week!!
My door lock for my driver is broken the piece that shields the door blocking the key to fully seat. I went to the junkyard and got the replacement. I needed to find out how I could take apart the new key lock to get the parts needed to unblock and fix the broken set. Thank you, keep ya posted if this works
For answering before! I am back at it again after the fourth attempt from someone to try to steal the old ranger! I have two questions. 1. My locking mechanism looks a little different than yours. I Have the key pins all in the correct order so that’s nice and flush. But I am confused as to which direction the Tumblr goes inside the outer casing. my design a slightly different from your example. Any ideas on how I can figure out? 2. When the screwdriver was inserted to break the lock, the rod attached to the key cylinder on the back came loose from inside the door. I tried to put it back in place, but it keeps falling out again. Inside the door is manual windows and manual locks no actuator. Any idea or Demonstration on how to reattach the rod that goes onto the back of the key cylinder clip where it goes inside the door? Thank you 1000x!
Good info, and one handed, bravo! It's too bad almost all the stock Ford door locks have a nearly permanently crimped on outer cover. Was that how your lock was originally, and you had to pry the original chrome cover & little flap door off, and use the easy new clip-on cover from the kit?
I have a question I have a Ford van and customer has lost all keys if I'm not good a decoding the ignition with the lishi pick could I take the ignition out and pull the pins out to see what numbers they are? I'm still searching for a video of yours that shows you removing a ignition barrel from a car and dismantling. Excellent work as usual if I could fly to the US to get training from you I would 👍🏾
I have an 06 F150 XL without power locks, my driver side tumbler is bad. Will this work on my truck as well? All the videos I'm seeing as well as all the lock kits I'm seeing are for trucks with power locks.
I think I'm working on a little older tumbler had to pry the chrome trim that's on the outside (not easy) ok looks like the tumbler locks on one side and the key picks up the pins or whatever you want to call them. My question why couldn't you just put the new key in and then file the tumblers flush?

I have an '03 Mustang. Had to get a new ignition switch & 2 keys made to get it to start. Unfortunately, the new ignition key does NOT work the current driver door and trunk lid lock. I want to rekey the driver door and trunk lock to match the ignition key. This is replacing the entire lock, however can the lock just bed re-keyed by me or by a locksmith? Thank you,
@@MYKEYSAUTOMOTIVE where would I get that, and would I need TWO kits or just one kit...thx for the reply. What's a good price to have a locksmith do this?
@@MYKEYSAUTOMOTIVE I have been looking, what do I ask for or what is the part number for the wafer kit for the 2003 Mustang? Do I need one or two kits? Much appreciated.
Very informative video like always, but I am going to get you a tri-pod for Christmas bro, but I have to say you are a beast, my shakey ass hands wouldn't have been able to do that 1 handed lol.
Great job with all the step-by-step information which was very helpful! Question for you... Did you have any of the 6 Tumblers/Pins not go down into the slots of the Cylinder?
@@MYKEYSAUTOMOTIVE With your BIG help & assistance and with a little pressure, the pins/tumblers finally seated & went into place. Lock cylinder & sleeve/casing are assembled with shutter & cap on! All good to go...
Hey bro, your video was a huge help! The kit I got from Autozone was returned by someone else, bastards took the directions, but watching your video I was able to figure it out in about an hour! My only question is what is the gasket for? They took that as well. Thanks again!

I am trying to use some used pins from ford ranger cylinders from the junk yard. I got measurements from my key and have tried to moving different pins into different slots and I have been able to get only 2 pins to fit and turn. could the used pins from the junk yard are messed up? is it ok to file some down? htanks for the help
I wouldn't recommend using pins from the junk yard!! I would just recommend you buy them new from the dealer or ebay they are noth worth it from the junk yard as they may have been previously damaged..
