Bought one for my wife with the 1.5L tri cilinder 123cv. Good fuel economy for city use. The only drawback is the spare wheel attached to the weird boot (im from south america and it's still come with it) Considering the competitors I think it was the best overall small compact SUV. Ah and the wheels are 18", too much for confort.

What do you mean you have to walk AROUND the car to open the boot? It doesn't matter on which side you drive and you driver seat is, you just go to the back and open the boot.

The door opens on the same side as the curb side in Australia........so you empty your cargo and have to walk around the door to get onto the curb...same problem as the Rav 4s in America......door is hinged for the Japanese market ....

The Ford EcoSport (pronounced ek-ho sport) is a subcompact crossover SUV, originally built in Brazil by Ford Brazil since 2003, at the Camaçari plant. A second generation concept model was launched in 2012, and is also assembled in new factories in India, Thailand, Russia and Romania."

From what I know, this last generation is build just in Romania. I might be wrong, but the romanian factory has a capacity of 12000 cars per month, which can support the production just on this country.

It frustrates me to no end how NO ONE considers people in wheelchairs. The back opening side ways instead of upways means my mother whos able to drive and walk small amounts before to much pain, she can open that! The ones that go up, hatchbacks, she cannot open becaude once theyre UP and OPEN she cannot close them again. Please consider wheelchair users, or non-able bodied people. I hope they never change the door.

Totally agree I commented on her 185 cm hubby and her 160 cm height last time"please stop" but she does not listen. She is most monotonous car reviewer ever. Carsguide is in serious shortage of good reviewers. Her every review has 90 percent same words just cars change.

The transmission is painfully slow to respond to throttle input. They should have dropped a CVT in it. Would have made it much quicker.

The Hyundai Kona would be my better choice. I want an SUV that suits my needs. And I want to go cross country frequently.

Had the Titanium as a rental. Very disappointing. It is called the EcoSport, yet it fails at both. Fuel efficiency is abysmal, and the acceleration is even worse. I had to floor the gas pedal on the mildest inclines to avoid slowing down. And despite being the top-tier model, there were no active driver assistance functions, not even a frontal collision warning, which are available on almost all cars now. This thing is a joke. Keep shopping.

minimonsterify so many other things are made in countries like India and India itself, which makes your observation relevant only to narrow-minded people
