In this video we take a look at a 2004 f150. This truck suddenly does not have reverse. Watch as I remove the reverse apply piston and do some investigating. 4R75E transmission work.
This transmission broke the reverse band. Had to pull it and do a full rebuild. Checking the piston is a very good idea. As an option prior to pulling the transmission out.
I bet you it's the reverse band. Pull the tranny out remove the pump pull out the clutch packs until you get to the reverse band and the ear will be broken off the band and your going to need to replace the reverse band. You will thank me later. If anyone else is reading this and has this problem, trust me on this one. Or waste your time with the piston and then later realize it the reverse band.

have a 1995 f150 automatic 5.0 it drives forward perfectly fine no issues but when i put it into reverse it like shakes the whole car and it wont move into reverse at all i dont know what to do or how to fix it please help
Mostly likely same issue this truck encountered. It's possible the reverse band blew a seal but also possible the band broke up inside the case. The point on my video was to show people with this transmission. If you have lost reverse, then before pulling transmission you could take that reverse piston out and make sure it's not blown a seal there first.

@@C-commerce no I sent the transmission to a guy for a full rebuild. Customer decided simply to have it completely redone. I hate that I wasn't able to do a follow up video. My work schedule forces me to change plans quickly. Lesson learned. More videos like this to come with the complete story enclosed.
