My 2016 Ford F150 started holding water in one of the doors and I could hear it sloshing around when I was driving. This can be resolved by cleaning out the tiny drain holes on the bottom of the door.
Mine was the driver side back door of my 2016 f150. Couldnt believe how much water came out of there! I thought I heard sloshing and then it just kinda stopped for awhile. Well I live in Minnesota and once winter was over all that water thawed out and I started hearing it again 😂
Oh wow yeah hadn’t concerned what this would mean for folks up north. We’re soft Floridians so forgot it gets cold enough to freeze water 😂 You’d be driving around with a built in ice pack for 6 months out of the year
Same door, same problem, same model year. Thought I was losing my mind after getting it and hearing water sloshing around. Had no idea it was in the door. Cleaned the weep holes with pipe cleaners and it hasn't been back so far.
2012 F150 5.0 4wd, 186,000 miles, great truck, same door and no fun to drain, but did after heavy downpours, in Colorado. I’ve only replaced a serpentine belt and fuel pump, no other problems but, well maintained and recommended maintenance schedule is followed. Preventative maintenance is important.
Exactly what I was looking for i did end up using my air compressor eith a blow gun on the small holes n once the debris clear up water made its way out pretty quickly. Thanks man
FORD's love TLC. I have one. And I'm constantly changing out shit the manufacturer decided to install (cheap quality parts). However, with that being said...I really think F150s are nice looking trucks. IMO
I just took a nail and hammer and made a small hole it made all the water rush out it was ridicuoulous how much those doors can hold I must have had 2 gallons of water come out.
Yeah that’s a clever way to widen the holes. It is crazy how much space is in there for water. It ran all the way down my driveway when I drained mine lol
@@thefiXfiles I was shocked at how much water came out of mine! Of course, I'd prefer not to have that much water get into the door in the first place 😕
I noticed that the small square weep holes at the front of the front doors get clogged with dirt frequently because they are exposed behind the panel gap. This maintenance issue is not in the owner's manual! I can't say I love Ford, but, I do love my truck and I want it to last for a decade before it rusts out!
I had the same problem . Check the seal on the top of your door frame it could be where the water is getting in from. ?. It may not be sealed or has come loose. Hope that helps next time ,cheers
2004 ACCORD increasing mpg on my car, removed whole air box system/muffler and have this issue on my car dont have much screwdriver marks and am the 3rd owner so keeping it mint is a priority
Compressed air worked well for me just now clearing out those holes. Bunch of crud came pouring out. Same door, same truck. Thx for the vid. Any ideas where the waters coming in from? Window seals?
Yeah thats what I’m suspect too. I think a little water can get around the seal for the window so that’s why the drains are there. Sunroofs are similar. They don’t seal perfectly so manufacturers plan for leaks.
This has to be a joke but regardless, why would you put the rubber cap back? It’s below the door seal so the water will just drain on it’s own you would have to leave your windows down in a bad storm but even then, your window motors have to be shot from that amount of water 😂
I experienced this today on my 2012 navigator. I don't see the point in keeping this grommets in, does any one else? I was just going to permanently remove them because my drains were caked full of dirt.
I have a 2012 Ford Escape, i don’t have covers on the drains, but i think my drains are clogged. Is there any way i can fix that? When it’s raining water comes from my sun roof and passenger side top handle and always ends up on my passenger floor
You likely have clogged sunroof drains…there are little hoses at each corner of the sunroof that will go down each pillar and drain out under the car. These get clogged from the top & can also clog at the bottom.
