How to access the diagnostic menu of a MK7 Ford Fiesta to access codes and features such as coolant temperature (as there's no guage on the dash for it) and RPM, MPH, KPH digital readouts.
just here to add - you mentioned it was normal for coolant to hover around 80-85, however if you see it go up a bit don't freak out, it just means the AC is off, meaning the fan is off. However, my fan kicks on at 99 and shuts off at about 95 (when idling) so if yours doesn't maybe it should be checked out. just thought i'd add that!
@@LastTrump7 Hi, it's on 126,000 miles right now. It's manual gearbox, and only transmission item required is a new oil seal where one of the front wheel drive shafts enters the gearbox!
Hello, noticed while you were doing the LCD test that a cruise control symbol appeared on the MPG/Odometer screen. Is there anyway to activate this while the cruise control is set? So you have cruise control speed output on the LCD screen
I don't have any idea unfortunately. Best guess is that you could probably get one of the fancy OBD readers from Amazon which you could set up to display it?
Just done the test. I've been having problems in cold weather like 2 or 3 degrees c and my temp gauge only coming upto 3 blocks and not 4 in the middle where it should be. So had a drive around and it's about 5 or 6 degrees outside and it's reading 72 degrees c fluctuating between 70 and 76 if I gun it. Do you guys think this is OK or should I look at getting my thermostat changed??
Very useful video. Do you happen to know if you can change the display using the trip button on the left stick or does it HAVE to be that little button as it’d be better for me when driving along to quickly flick between them using that
I have no idea, mine only switches between the trip related readout and resets the trip when held and I haven't tried, please let me know if you try though.
on my Fiesta ST2 mk7 the radio screen dont come on when i get into car or when i push on button. Its a Sony radio. turned on ok when i went to the shop and came back and nothing was on, no music, no radio, screen is blank.
I tried this nothing happens there is no reaction whats so ever i made a mistake buying a ford tbh the 2016 model looked so smooth unlike 2009 1.4 petrol it consume to much petrol
Quick question regarding the dashboard dials, saw them flickering on my car (Ford fiesta 2013) at start and they do that every time I start, then they are normal. Saw that they do it in this video too, is that normal or should I get that checked out? Thanks in advance 😊
Do you mean as you start the engine? If so that's normal yes because of the voltage fluctuation as it spins the starter. If not could you clarify and I'll try to help.
@@spidiq8 sorry, I might have explained it wrong, English is not my first language. But with dashboard dials I meant the needles, they kinda seem stuck and then gets released to go to normal at starting the engine. Is that something I need to get fixed asap or can I wait? Or is waiting gonna damage something in the dash cluster? Thank you again!
@@matildaaalto7616 Could you upload a little video clip of it please? It might be normal behaviour as the needles will only move with the engine running but it could be a fault.
I can get the "test" to appear however further pressing of the trip reset does not do anything? It just stays on "test" any ideas? I have a 12 plate fiesta
What year and how did access it. It would helpful because i think my 2010 has a thermometer issue because its fan kick on so early but it doesn't seem to effect the car any so i just want to see what its doing
Just a quick one - I noticed at the end you were pressing a button and cycling through the standard menu, what button were you pressing as I can only seem to get a odemter and trip read out on my screen. Mines a base spec edge so might have something To do with that?
@@Autoshieldcars Really? I would have thought it was standard on all of them. This is the first Fiesta I've had so I'm far from an expert on the models but it seems like it should be a standard thing.
@@spidiq8 you’d think lol. I’ve only got six for connectivity, and then on the gauge, I have my current mileage, and then a trip which can be reset. No mpg, or button to cycle trough a menu. Say I would’ve assumed that button on the stalk to do it as it does it in most cars but yeh mine doesn’t have it lol
@@ismaildjennane8013 I have no idea, are you referring to an obd reader? You can buy AM units that will give you this info but they're on a screen you need to mount somewhere.
@@spidiq8 yh really weird, no idea why it won’t go back to what it had before! Tried pressing and holding the trip button till the cows come home and still nothing :/
@@DaveTW02 Did this occur after accessing the menu? Might be worth disconnecting the battery for a minute or two and reconnecting to see if removing the power resets it. I'm Curious to know how it happened as I'd quite like to be able to leave the temp on.
