Just purchased the Fiesta ST Line Hybrid. The car gives an amazingly perky drive and corners as though it's on rails. This is my first fiesta and deffenetly no regrets, amazing car.
I have the face lifted 22 plate Fiesta ST Line Vignale except mine does have the 155PS MHev engine and six speed manual and in sport mode it is a real firecracker. Day to day I get over 50mpg too which is great. It’s fully loaded although I’d love the glass roof, that would have been perfect.
I love my mk3 fiesta, think I'll stick with that. Although these new fiestas are an amazing drive. Just the pricing is mental don't understand why new cars are soo much money.
Just bought new Fiesta Titanuim X,had to buy sooner than expected due to Ford announcement they were stopping production.Called my local dealer who couldn't guarantee I would get what model with extras I wanted if I ordered one.luckily they had had a cancelled customer order which was right colour & engine size with most of what I wanted on it 2 weeks later it was mine.Loving all the gadgets drive & performance is great getting 48mpg so pretty good. The only thing I'm dissapointed about is the car no longer has self folding heated wing mirrors a backwards step in my view.I think Ford are making a big mistake discontinuing the Fiesta.
I saw a nice ST-3 with only 5000 on the clock at 20k, might as well get that one, save yourself the best part of 10k. Edit - 1.5 turbo at 200bhp very nice
Sorry I don't think chip shortage or cross over sales are the only reason you forgot to mention the introduction of the Corsa which knocked it off top spot just thought I would help you out we know how car gurus love fords
@@hooveyjones I ordered mine end of January, it's just been built and currently in transit to the UK. I expect to take delivery of it early November. I think the reason there aren't many around is the fact they haven't built many in the last 12-18 months due to the pandemic and chip shortages.
Yes I would like a Fiesta but Ford announced its demise today. Limited range and expensive options may lead me to a Puma or brand that isn't abandoning this market segment.
Love to see and hear Rebecca. however, it is only a matter of time before Kia, Hyundai, Toyota chase Ford out of car sales, just like they did here in the states. Only model selling here is mustang.
You obviously don’t know what Ford plans are as they are now split into company divisions under own names covering all bases but foremost the new generation of future cars launching several in 2023 as move away from combustion but are keeping some of it going unlike others that will not.
@@jonathanw844 VW Polo GTI costs nearly £30k. Toyota GR Yaris only comes in a 3 door but that starts from over £32k. That’s crazier money if you ask me.
Practically everybody was/is affected by the chip shortage, so I'm confused as to how this was particularly detrimental to the Fiesta. Maybe the alternatives are just more tempting.
Ford diverted their supply of chips into more expensive cars and cut production of the Fiesta. They made more money this way than keeping the supply of chips for the Fiesta, hence they effectively ran Fiesta production down, then said that the Fiesta wasn't selling well so it was going to be dropped. They stopped selling the Ka in the UK a while back too, so Ford have abandoned the small car market at least in the UK (and now Europe by the looks of things). Polo should now mop up the market, so long as VW keep making it.....
Believe me the competition in most cases aren’t worth going for - the Ibiza (and polo and Fabia) facelifts are horrendously bad in terms of engine and infotainment, I’d take my fiesta over my former Ibiza any day of the week.
The Ecoboom as people call it only applied to pre 2013 cars and mainly affected people who never ever carry out basic under bonnet fluid checks. This car is not affected by these issues. Ford revised the cooling system to address the problem of losing coolant and people blowing them up.
It was one of the most popular engines in the UK for the last ten years or so. Only the early versions had these issues like the comments stated above.
Ford prices are ridiculous now.Its a facelifted facelift car as well. Its good but its old and I hear no news of a brand new Fiesta.I guess I will replace my current Fiesta with a used model again....
What are Ford smoking with that starting price? Yes, LED headlights are standard but this isn’t a new platform, they aren’t new engines or anything. So, what has suddenly happened to push the base price up that much? I had a new Zetec Fiesta back in 2013 as a lease car and it’s list price was around £14K. The engineering and base components are basically the same. My follow up leases, Seat Leon SE with Tech Pack and a Skoda Karoq SEL with loads of options on it were cheaper than this Fiesta and are miles better cars.
I have the fiesta ST-3 1.5 turbo and you may as well just get an ST if you are willing to opt to get all the extras on one of these. 2 year old fiesta st's are better value compared to this
Far to expensive for what it is especially the £29,000 st line with options, Hyundai i20 is far cheaper and comes loaded with spec, i20N £25,000-£26,000 with Bose is the best bet and will keep its resale compared to this
I'm struggling to understand why the Fiesta has become so ridiculously expensive I bought a Mondeo St-line in late 2018 for £26k 4 years on the Fiesta a small hatchback is now more expensive in the same trim level wtf is going on in the world.
@@interceptor-ss8kb exactly, the car game atm is trying to make electric cars seem better value than petrol as electric cars were so much more expensive in 2018 so car dealers decide to spike car prices up to be near on par with electric cars so everyone will switch sooner and they can meet government targets!! are they rewarded with bonus ?? Who knows but something happing and nothing to do with the chip shortage that they blame everything on
@@glennchinyangarara8225 the GR Yaris is more then just a Yaris the sheer amount of work Toyota put into that car to make it a hot hatch is unbelievable.
ford insists on putting underwhelming touring tires on as standard. my advice, get the ST-Line and put on some PS4 or Eagle F1's. I have and it's transformative. such good fun to drive. I know people will bang on about price, but you can now spec an MX-5 to 40k, so go figure
Bought the wife a ST-Line X 155PS brand new back in 2020. This time last year (around Sept 2021) our Ford dealer rang us up and offered us a new exact same car for the same £190 monthlies with no deposit. Just the wife's current car as part ex. Anyway new car finally turned up in July and it was one of these facelift ST-Line Vignale 155PS cars. Didn't like the front bumper and horrible chrome bits (like the one in this vid), didn't like the wheels. Lack of lumber support and to top it all 20Nm of torque down on our current car. So we turned it down. Probably crazy as this was a £25K car for the same monthlies - but we just didnt like it. Glad we kept our 2020 pre-facelift.
They've priced themselves out the market it's got nothing to do with crossovers. 25 grand for a decent spec fiesta? The hybrid system is a soft hybrid.. Its just an extra battery so they can charge you more and claim you're saving the planet. I bought a 2017 St instead for 11k.. Better mpg nicer car faster better looking cheaper.
I think Ford have generally always had a poor attitude to it's customers in terms of what they can and can't have. I also hated those 3 cylinder engines, though it's been several years since I drove a Fiesta. Like a sewing machine high on caffeine as soon as your foot touches the throttle and so it's hard to engage the next gear or exit a roundabout. I could be confusing it with a 3 pot Skoda though. Not very reliable engine or easy to fix is also what I've gathered in the past. Too much for too little. Excellent review though as always from Rebecca. So much from so little ? :)
I love the ecoboost engines to drive but they are a pain to work on so they cost a lot of labour to change a belt for example. A lot of cars are doing these turboed 3 cynlinders now
Why people in Europe prefer such small underpowered cars? In the US I drive a v6 300hp and a 4 cylinder 220hp car, and I feel like they are underpowered.
Thank you Rebecca as I have my eyes on the Mild Hybrid version in Titanium with 7 speed auto box and if my salesman tomorrow gives me a decent part-ex I'll be switching over as soon as . Liken the colour of your test ride as I have not driven a Cherry Red car since I last had a Renault Megane old style circa 1996 .
As a fiesta owner (2013 ecoboost 125bhp titanium) I love them BUT £29'000 for an optioned fiesta with the same output as mine🤔 You would need to certified or on mobility to buy one brand new. My £29'000 would be going on any number of 1 yesr old cars iam afraid.
I got an 2013 ecoboost 125bhp titanium X, full loaded in 2014 with only 3000 miles on the clock. 8 years later the same spec is + 50% more, in cost. Crazy!
It's a nice refresh but the styling is less streamlined/dynamic compared to the MK 7.5 which is a decade old at this point. The rear light design looks quite dated compared to the 2013 to 2017 models and is less cohesive. The black outline improves the rear of the 2022 models but is still not as cleverly designed. Just look at the titanium models of the mk 7.5's, they look more sleek and new from the side.
I tink that fiesta production 'll be stopped. In any case: no more 3 door! no more 1.0 l 155 hp and perhaps no more panoramic roof. If production start again that for only the car who been ordered. That's really a shame and a pity. Constructors don't wanna do little cars (per example: Alfa romeo official site -> no more Mito). The mode is oOnly crossover or SUV or expansive car (Puma ST is expansive than fiesta St). Fiesta is a amazing sexy car. I don't understand.
£19K for a Ford Fiesta!!!!!!! OK I accept it was 18 years ago & the equivalent car on Porsche Car Configurator is £906760 but in 2004 it took delivery of a 911 Carrara 997.1 with options: metalic paint, Bose sound system, sports seats & rear wiper for £55000. Mind you it did come with Porsche shite unreliable M96/97 engine as standard meaning that when I came to sell, I took a "hit" as those in the know wanted the engine that replaced it in the 997.2.
At £25K you might as well get an ST3. Not only will you get a faster car, it would be good for everyone looking at 2/3 year old ones! Can you do a video on if electric cars are 'boring' compared to a normal ICE hot hatch please? There is no engine noise or manual gearbox, but they can be faster than hot hatches now. Rebecca is a pro driver so can test the performance of both. Thank you.
At a time when we are facing a cost of living crisis Ford are pricing themselves out of the market with the Fiesta. You would be better off with a Peugeot 208 or a Renault Clio. What's more is they are trying to give you tons and tons of extra non-essential gadgets which 90% of the time you will never use and so just makes the whole car unnecessarily complicated. Having said all that Ford are not alone in this.
It's time to ditch the fiesta Which is a shame as it's a good car and drives superb I've had three of them but not the newest ones Prices have put a nail in the coffin and time to buy something more affordable but with the same or more spec
A bit late, you can't spec a new fiesta now as it's been removed from the configurator.. managed to secure a ST line Vignale 155 as our 2nd car and it's good
rediciulas price & it'll loose 50% of its value within the first 12x months ,Ford used to be the leaders years ago but they're struggling to keep up with the rest, Great video Rebecca
In terms of value and enjoyment (excepting insurance if you are lucky enough to be young) the Hot versions of most hatchbacks are the models of choice. The Fiesta ST could be bought with great spec for the same money.
Yo even the S Max is no longer a desirable car. I don’t get why Ford haven’t discontinued that car yet, it ain’t gonna sell and the current model isn’t cutting it.
My mum has same model and spec, even same colour. I was surprised how pricey the car was to buy. I drove it and it was fun, better than my focus with the same engine but the focus I still prefer. Good review!
Gone backwards on this model, hardly see any at all. The previous version was miles better. Chrome trim is awful. No 140PS model anymore, pass on this one.
I love All cars. GM, Chrysler, Mercedes Benz and , sorry for our community ..Toyota. But I really a lit.bit.affraid east.european ladies.
