@Christine Ayres I have the standard Mivec version. In the future I'm planning to swap with the turbo engine, the rallyart one. Where can I buy this engine abroad normally?
Having had a Fiesta ST for a while now and is completely stock, I love it, it drives well and feels really responsive. If you TICKLE it around town you can easily get 32-34+MPG, on the motorway you will easily get into the 45-50 MPG mark. Giving it some beans around the B-roads, MPG drops to 20 or less and its a really satisfying ride, it feels safer than its peers and cost-to-grin factor is astounding. It isn't in the league of a Type R or other 200 BHP rides buts it fantastic fun. Underrated.
I kinda agree, but remove the restrictions on the ST inlet and exhaust and your looking at 170 odd brake for a few quid. You may just get caught out when you are "off cam"
I drive a CZ3. And i love it, awesome handling, nice cockpit view and enough space on the inside for everything. U dont gonna belive how much things u can put into the Colt. :)
Back in 2006 I wanted to buy Fiesta ST! But when I sat in CZT and took it for a test ride I realized how much nicer that car was for driver. Better seats, modern dashboard design, more room inside and it looked so youthful! On the road it had so much more power from below! BUT it had to soft suspension!I solved that problem with installing harder and lower springs! Today it drives througt curves like devil himself! And I would change it for Fiesta double ST....
I have a Colt CZ1 and it is a very safe car , the dashboard is built like an American car as its like 2 and a half feet in length so if you did have an accident you would be quite safe where as the Fiesta is a crumple zone LOL
the ST was shown to be as quick round the nurburgring as the clio. Obviously you know little about power outputs as the 20bhp more means only a second quicker to the Kilometre. the ST is insurance group 13 and aimed at younger drivers, the clio is inusrance group 16 i think if not more - which makes it uninsurable for many especially for such a minor difference in power. Ive driven both and bought an ST. the better car
all colts can have there traction control turned off well i know a 08 ralliart colt if u turn key to reds before u start and hold in the asc button which should be next fog light button hold it down for few secs til it lights up and stays up on the dash then start the car that turns all safty stuff off pretty sure works for me and all u need to do to turn on is hit button when ever u need it back no need to stop or turn car off
Yea, like if you are driving in real life, you want the car to lift off around corners. If you do want to lift off in a czt, you can turn the TC off using a little trick, but they couldn't show that on the show, so they compared a TC on with a TC off car, on a track - and that's stupid. And if you do want to buy one of these, you also want to modify it, and everyone knows that with a turbo engine you can boost power an additional and safe 20% with a modified software.
@@RobMarx23 The Ford 2.0 Duratec is dogshit? I heard it's alright, nowhere near a K20 or even a B18, but it's not that bad ? Bolt ons and cams and you're at about 200 hp?
thinking of getting the St as a second car. Its fast, looks sporty and the interiors niceish. shame the MOG isnt great and the engine is nothing to sing about
@mageac . He is saying that this test is not accurate because all colts can turn off the TC (but the european version does not have a button to do so) - even With a remap, the fiesta gains 15 hp, while the colt gains 30 hp and that's just one example. Everyone knows that modifying an aspirated engine is way more expensive and the power gains are lower than modifying a turbo car.
The colt lost because of the Auto traction control and also it dont have Coil Overs fitted like the Fiesta ST , on top speed on a motorway the colt is quicker and is a more reliable car too
but you cant turn it off so it wont beat the ford... might be a little faster in a straight line, but cornering in road course race is 3 times more important then acceleration
Shit? The most recognized hot hatches ever had less.. What about the 205 1.9 GTI and the Golf GTI mark 1? My PUG 406 TS6 has 210 hp, but what about power to weight ratio?
this is actually a pretty even comparison 3 horsepower difference, the ford doesn't have ESC and has a better chassis, and the Mitsu is lighter I'm sure as was said, with a set of cams and a turbo the ford would be a force to be reckened with
6 grand??? you mean 600 quid. And its a 2.0L ST vs a 1.5L 'TURBO' Colt. Don't forget that their are many 2.0L turbo cars around nowadays that produce 350+ BHP stock standard so the colt is only playing with whats possible - I bet that thing could push alot more power out with a bit tinkering. The ST does take alot of money to start getting some extra worthwhile power out of it but reputable after market suppliers say that its good for 200BHP without any modding to the rest of the engine.
Abdul Choudhury it's not american, americans wouldn't even know what that car is, wasn't designed in america, wasnt built in america and was never sold in america
+Avrilcadabra Correction: The Fiesta was first sold in America in 1980 but was dropped due to slow sales. It was relaunched for the America market in 2011. In fact, my son owned one and I see a lot of them about. (FYI the American market Fiesta is made in Mexico)
Colts problem is the traction control..if it could turn off that traction control it would beat the ford, if u are smart enough u will understand..ford goes 0-100kph at 7.9 sec. ,colt goes 0-100 at 7.5 sec. anyway both cars are nice..but i would prefer Colt because is more economic and easier to get more power because its turbo aspirated.
@@bajszosjozsef4850 That's the beauty of the Colt, it's so easy to get it to 200bhp and upset all of the kids in their financed Fiesta ST's as they get gapped by a granny wagon. ST on the other hand screams "I'm Fast!" when in reality it has a shitty non-turbo low torque 2.0 litre engine with absolutely 0 tuning potential. Colt all the way.
what do the people in britain or the USA with cars like these? Didn´t you have all a speedlimit? Im from germany and if i want to drive fast as fucking hell i do that! whats the limit in britain?greetz
a 1.5L 150hp is different than a 2.0 150hp more torque..compare a 2.0L sport car by ford with a 2.0L sport car by mitsubishi..and colt cant turn off the traction control if it could it would beat that ford
nor am I, i will tell you now, the Fiesta is not way slower than the 182. In your head, count 0.8 seconds. Now, that isnt even a car length you would have pulled ahead by the time you got to 60mph. Understand now? Ive driven all sorts of cars and had my racing license 2 years ago, I prefer the ST.
im not saying the 182 isnt the better car for a B Road blast, but the difference isnt huge between them! day to day, i would expect the fiesta is easier to live with and better screwed together. its all horses for courses! when i say i prefer the ST, i mean over that ugly CZT!
Colt with its shitty turbo has the same perf, yeah. The ST doen't need that troublesome shit to be more capable than the Colt. Faster, easier and cheaper to maintain. Once your turbo breaks, you're stuck with 50 less bhp. If it would move at all.
@@bajszosjozsef4850 Colt's are incredibly well built so no need to worry about the turbo breaking. Also, the Fiestas shit Naturally Aspirated engine is almost untuneable. Colt can easilly achieve 200bhp and shit all over the Fiesta. JDM wins.
@@RobMarx23 That's not a JDM car, and that turbos probably failed at this point in time if it wasn't for great care. Not like Colt is built in Japan with utmost care. It's built pretty much the same way as a Fiesta does.
