FORD FOCUS HOW TO TEST THERMOSTAT | THERMOSTAT STUCK CLOSE OR OPEN
If you have Ford Focus and you need to test your thermostat to make sure that thermostat is working correctly and the thermostat is not stuck open or close we will show you how to do that. Verify at what temp the thermostat is supposed to open and you can verify for sure if it is working correctly. In this video we will demonstrate how to test thermostat on 2013 Ford Focus but it should apply to multiple years and models mk3 generation even if equipped with different engine.

I have 2012 focus the fan works with ac only otherwise will overheat the coolent looks like gose everywhere in the engine

yes I also have the same 105c thermostat ford fiesta car. and will go down to 96c but if using AC 88c to 90c if not exposed to heavy traffic. I live in the tropics where the temperature is 35 to 40 degrees.

I've been having some major issues I want to try to take care of but I don't have any mechanics around that I trust to even look at it. The shops around here don't really know what they're doing and they charge outrageous prices. I know it's something to do with my thermostat sticking and my coolant is constantly leaking even though I replace the coolant reservoir along with a new cap. I still have to refill it about everyday or every other day. Half the time I'm getting a sudden overheating alarm and my temperature gauge shoots up but it never showed that it was getting hot. I have issues when I fill it up with gas too, it doesn't want to start, but that's probably my fuel pump going out. Would you be able to possibly help me figure out what might be wrong? I know it's hard to without actually being in person.. I'm trying to learn everything I can so I don't get fooled when someone tries to work on it if I can't figure it out myself.

At that temperature, the thermostat is already open. But just the fan start blowing at 105 and cools down the engine.

I had some problems my car felt very unstable and I changed mine for the same reason, it threw me a fault code because the computer did not detect that it did not open the thermostat precisely because it was already worn out, but the strange thing is that it is supposed to It must open at 82 degrees because that is the one I buy to avoid problems in hot weather, but it does not grip it, it opens it up to 105 degrees because of the coolant and that is when the computer detects that it opens and that is when it turn on the electric fan and with that rule out that it could be the sensor, and thanks to that the fault code and some other codes were removed.

Ok I think my thermostat is bad It stalls and dies sometimes and then does good for a bit maybe a few days or weeks then it would do it from time to time but I noticed fluid on the ground when I parked it
