I had a red ST line focus as a courtesy car earlier this year. It was after someone (made contact) with my BMW so it needed to go in for repair for 2 weeks. I have to say it was genuinely more fun to drive than any 300+HP car I’ve driven in a long time! I was really pleasantly surprised, especially with the interior. Definitely better than an equivalent golf these days

Nice review. Had one of these for 6 months and loved the feel when driving, the suspension is great when you want to have fun but is supple enough to still be good on long journeys. Economy was impressive but you felt the lack of power if you were five up. The gear box feel was also pretty good. On the down side... a bit of paint flaked off, some of the ceiling liner stitching came out, the infotainment system crashed from time to time, it alerted me to collisions that seemed to only exist in its imagination and the auto-handbrake seemed to stop working once every couple of weeks or so, oh and it crunched if you went from 3rd to 6th. Having said all of that I was tempted to buy the estate version but with the 1.5 engine..... Overall the quality isn't quite there but the driving feel is excellent...... to give my tuppence worth :-)
Just wondering about the boot, all Focus’s have had the ability to fold the rear seats forward allowing the backs to fold down flat in their place creating massive boot space when you needed it. Can they still do this or have Ford down away with that ability?
I thought the new Focus could be fitted with optional adaptive dampers? They made a big song and dance about their new highly advanced state-of-the-art pot hole detection CCD system being made available across the Focus speccs.
So if you come to the states and you want to rent an equivalent to the focus got to go with the Ford escape cuz the only car they make now is the Mustang for USA I don't consider the Mustang a passenger car
I too believe Daniel Johnston would appreciate the thrilling but economical drive the Ford Focus provides, if he wasn't too busy yelling into a mono tape recorder that is. Oh, and if he was still alive.
You guys in Europe are lucky the spoiled CEOs here didn't get the sales they wanted like the spoiled little preteens they are so they cut the focus off our market now when I trade in my 2017 Focus or whenever I do I have to go to an escape which cost more cuz that's the SUV equivalent to the focus and to make it even worse they cut off every passenger car made by Ford in USA
You had me until the Mcdonalds reference, where the video came apart. MCD is just trash, consistently. Probably should not use it to compare to something good
