Sounds interesting. Are you gonna take it? Yesterday, I tested a 2024 Transit Custom. Good van! It was easy to drive and refined. 170PS, 8-speed auto, 36.7mpg average.

Sadly my own sub frame was passed saving. However 'my guy' sourced a replacement, and with it being 'off' the car, the preparation he managed was so much easier & thorough. Should keep the old girl on the road for another few years. Can I assume a future video will be how to hand paint the steel wheels in some nice smooth black Hammerite like I've just done? LOL Really tidies the wheels up which you can see through the plastic trims...

Great video. You caught that rust in time by the looks of things. I hope your treatment gives the car some extra longevity. The Jenolite Rust Converter looks a good product. Aerosol application makes a lot of sense for this particular scenario. Maybe using a straw would let you get right into all the crevices? Looking forward to more Focus content. Have you suffered the imstrument cluster dry solder joint fault or water ingress into boot common issues?

Stumbled on your video after looking for the removal of a wing panel. My Focus is silver and its VRN begins with NL05 too, but apparently mine is a MK1 or as someone else said an unofficial MK1.5 as the front part of the body is a wee bit different to the MK1. Nice video, very clear instructions. I'll go and inspect mine and see if anything needs doing. Someone else also said that these cars with NL05 were used as unmarked police cars in the Northumberland Police Force. Apparently word got around fast!

I think it is a good plan to mask the brake disks with some newspaper or whatever to make sure that they don't get accidentally sprayed .

£79 to do the whole car sounds very reasonable. My mate had it applied to his FordJag, too early to tell how well it lasts., very easy to apply though.

That’s the infamous Jaguar Mondeo, perhaps. Lanoguard’s website says the product’s ‘designed for yearly/seasonal applications’ and ‘it should be topped up at least once a year to ensure continuous protection’.

To be fair to him it's the slightly later one with a lot of Jag and then novel as a diesel estate. It seems to last a lot longer than a year but that might have a lot of variables, I don't know. Now I don't think I'd use any solid waxoyl products that weren't semi-setting see-through otherwise rust can be sealed over and not seen getting worse. As I was told years ago proper derusting and paint seem to be the best but far too much hassle for some cars. Lanoguard is at least very see through and can be applied to just about everything underneath so makes cleaning easier which helps with preventing more rusting.

Good work. I did my Citroen C1 recently but used Hammerite Kurust then had the old girl underseealed. Have you noticed MOT stations are giving surface rust advisories out for fun nowadays?

Thanks. Glad your C1 is sorted. I've used Kurust in the past, too. For the Focus, the MOT listed the subframe as an advisory. I reckon that was fair. At least the tester didn't poke a hole in it!

ye mine and my dads got same at 2 different garages last year and its normal surface rust its a joke so i just sprayed with underseal black and then added xcp rust blocker to give more protection but the problem is now when people do a mot check when buying a car and see rust advisory it puts alot of people off as they think its a rotten car on its last legs
