I've had the Zetec S ecoboost 1.6 Turbo for over 6 years now and am still very happy with it. Although mine, despite being a 2014 plate, is pretty minimal on spec. It doesn't have electric rear windows, (as you said is the case on some models), or automatic folding mirrors. Some models even have a basic sat-nav, which again, mine doesn't. The power's good though, and I've never had any real problems with it.
Great video. I've just bought one today..chosen over the Titanium for the sporty looks..there is a 1.6 ecoboost engine available pushing out 187bhp..but i only found one example..but it had been played with TO much and so i couldn't be sure if it had been thrashed a lot in its attempts to impress.. They look good to me though..enough to pick one over the Titanium Navigators with reverse cameras and such..but i can park..so didn't need some of that tech.
AVOID these 1.0 eco boost engines. This is just a visual opinion which I also went for, but my god, it was the worst car Ive had, coolant, turbo all vulnerable, but worst is the vulnerability of the wet belt. And even if replaced it doesn't mean it won't snap still. Just a bad design. If it snaps you are looking at a new engine, if you decide to replace it you are looking at up to £1,500 to replace. I got rid after a year. If you want a zetec s get one that is not 1.0 or an older model.
Avoid buying one. Massive trouble and requires a new engine. Ive know these to go at 20k miles. The engines are naff to say the least. Avoid at all cost. Ford should be taken to court for this. Defo not a motorway car!!
@Larissy Oliveira from personal experience these go very very wrong. Just goolgle ecoboost problems and you will see wave after wave of Web pages with people with similar experiences. My advice to you would be, get a 1.6 diesel focus. Just as good on fuel. Same road tax Cost, but the engine will far out live the 1.0 litre
