@@jasminecortinas0610 The entire kit with the connectors. Costed about 109$ at Ford. It makes a big difference even in the accelerator response. The mileage is around 32.4 mpg after nearly 4000 miles.
I am so glad I found this video! I've been going through h3ll trying to figure out what the ef is going on. I could not pin point the "goose" sound at all. So, just like in your video, went outside ran the car for a bit, it started making that "goose" sound. Opened the gas cap, put a piece of paper on it, and sure enough there it was. Making the EXACT noise from the video. You may have saved me some money! I'm going to go to the mechanic and see if he can check those two things. I'll keep you posted!
Great vid, I wish I'd have found this back when I had this issue. I replaced the purge valve and it completely resolved the issue. Thanks for putting this clear and precise explanation out there!
This is the most helpful car diagnostic and solution video EVER! Thank you so much! I haven't tried either yet, I'm very certain this is the issue with my car. The dealership wanted to charge me $145 just to diagnose the problem and who knows how much to fix.
@@psautomotive5530 I have a 2013 Ford Taurus. The purge valve was replaced by me because of OBD 2 code P1450. I used a new purge valve and everything is fine until the car warms up and I get a fast ticking sound from the purge valve. No rough idle, no vacuum from gas tank, no stalling.. Just annoying ticking sound. I'm hoping it's not the canister as you said. Or the lines..or even an electrical problem. What would you suggest?
This sound was driving me nuts. Thank you for this video. what does this kind of repair run on a 2014 Fusion. Apparently many people with Fords have this problem why hasn't it been recalled
Thanks for this video - my 2016 Fusion Titanium (2.0L EcoBoost) started making this sound yesterday, actually died on me pulling into the parking lot of my kid's daycare! Started right up though, and a day later, the check engine light pops up - P1450. Just bought the purge valve from RockAuto for 45.00. Thanks again for the video!
14 Fusion: I have the same issue, my car dosent want to start after getting gas. Also while driving I randomly here whining from the back of my car, if I stop at a light, the car try’s to idle but then it cuts off. Has anyone experienced that?
This is what I'm going through right now! Sometimes it is hard to put fuel in the car I have to put it on a real low flow and hold the fuel nozzle and now that farting noise
So far I have had no problems with starting etc but I did have check engine once and today it made that noise twice without any other issue. It was cyclical like 5 "buzzes" in the row very weird. Never heard that in any other car
Mee too. Had this problem in my 2013 Lincoln MKZ. My mechanic changed that vapor canister purge valve assembly. It's doing the same thing again a year later. In the shop right now 🤦🏾♂️
@@gsht5839 how much did it cost!! Mine is doing the same thing! And everytime I put gas in it stops or won’t start and I’ll have to wait a minute and then it starts but knocks for a minute
The pulse valve (the one in the engine compartment) is a $130 part! It is impossible to remove and replace the whole setup without a lift and removing the lower engine cover and the alternator. On my wife's car, I cut the hoses and simply swapped the solenoid and the two one-way valves. I reconnected the tubing using two pieces of heat shrink tubing.
I'm having this problem now on my 2016 Fusion with a 2.5 L. It's been making a strange noise in the back of my vast, but the noise only happens about 2 times a month and then it never makes the noise again. I traced the noise to the driver side back of the car and now finding out that it's coming from inside my fuel tank makes sense. My husband just changed out the purge valve. It's been dying when I get gas since I got it last year. So it's great to see this video and see where the canister is located so we can buy the part and change it out.
Ford needs to issue a recall for this problem and just go back to putting a regular gas cap on like most cars do. It would solve a lot of problems and I have been a Ford user for more than 40 years but I hate the capless fuel tank
Really great video but I’m a little stuck. I’m dealing with a 2015 fusion ecoboost that just came up with the p1450 code. It is running sluggish and has a very hard time getting to even 60 mph. It starts just fine but does not sound or run right
Great video. I'm having this issue now (2013 Lincoln MKZ). My mechanic changed the purge valve assembly about a year ago. But now it's happening again. I'm wondering if it's the square canister part you mentioned
Me too. They replaced the canister MD the solenoid and still happening.he replaced fuel valve solenoid last year and FORD dealer replaced it 2 yrs ago. Seems a defective part ...how long are the solenoids supposed to last?
There's also a Carbon Canister and a Solenoid that could be part of the problem. I just changed the rear Solenoid PART# CP806 Helped but started up again after a few weeks. The reason folks begin having this issue is from Overfilling theor gas tank!!! Stop topping off your tank, when the nozzle clicks, STOP. You're flooding the carbon canister.
Having the same issue, my car will die out. I have to put my push the cap less valve open and let the air equalize before it will start up, I stuck a paper clip in for temp solution
This is the noise my 2018 Ford escape is making in my engine light is on. Every time I fill up the car it takes a car at least 5 minutes to start again.
I have a 2017 fusion 2.0 echoboost and every time i fill up when i start the car it idles rough. high and low high and low for 5 minutes before it smooths out. This is exactly whats happening to me it sounds like...hmmmmmm
Yep. My Lincoln is in the shop right now for this. I spent $450 a year ago on the same issue. Changed the purge valve assembly. Now it's happening again. If u don't address it your car may start to cut off in you.
My car has this sound comes out of the fuel cap rpm vibrates along side the sound, and when I want to turn off my car it won't turn off and keeps running even when I take off the key. I'm assuming the issue is the same with the car in the video
Mi fusión tiene ese mismos problema, cuando lleno el tanque de gasolina tengo que dar 3 o 4 veces para que encienda. Solo lo hace cuando pongo gasolina.
I have the same issue in a 2019 fusion titanium Already checked the purge valve and I was told there is no problem in it. Also I don’t have any problem starting the car after fueling nor it dies in the traffic So I changed the canister/vent valve .. it was not an easy replacement because of AWD but I really hope it will solve the issue
Same I have a 2019 fusion I already changed the purge valve with all those hoses that go connected to the engine and 2 weeks later I got my check engine light back on for same code about the evap high pressure. So I’m guessing it’s the canister near the gas tank area..
How is it going. Well I’ve already change the purge valve and the charcoal canister it was fine for like a month but now it’s making that noise again and it smells like acetone
hey i have a ford fusion 2014 with problems when i turn it on it does not turn on fast and most of the times turns down by itself where im assuming gasoline is not flowing well it seems like its clogged what do you think i should do ? i think what you did is very similar to my situation thanks
This is for a 2016 Ford Fusion, don't know if it's different per year. Purge Valve Assembly - Online I've seen as low as $60 USD. In stores about $100 USD Vapor canister vent solenoid - Online $54 USD. In stores it was $36 USD. These are only pricing for parts. Each repair shop the cost will vary.
Since the fuel tank is design for vacuum or (negative pressure) it not dangerous. The problem is that the fuel system won’t work properly and can cause vehicle start problems.
@@psautomotive5530 I'm driving a chevrolet Cruze 2016 1.4 T LS and there's too much air coming from the petrol tank but the car starts per. What could be the problem
I guess accurate diagnostic is a solving to the problem. Carrying out the repair is a separate matter I think. In other words, if you fix either or both the parts that will solve the same problem you experience in your car. All the best.
Would it be a problem if i left this issue fir a while!? Im from overseas and my local dealer told me they have to order the part from US which will take about 6 weeks to arrive. Should i keep driving with this issue or stop until i replace the part?
I replaced the solenoid in the rear. The noise stopped for about 2 weeks. Can back louder. I am now replacing the hoses in the front. Having trouble getting my hands down there. I tried to use a screw drive to release the clip on the hoses noting shooting out for help.
Hey lev.. I got that code. Did you replace the whole assembly? I just replaced the Purge Valve by cutting the hose in half and adding it. The Purge Valve was only $23 my car was fine restarting after full tank but still the code so prob just need to replace who assembly eh?
This beats all I have ever seen a ford car that farts and a 1000 dollars worth of work to go with it, If my Mustang ever do this I will be done with ford cars for ever. A farting car $&@$&&&$-:;;;
I agree that it’s absurd. Not to mention that to replace the purge valve you gotta take all those hoses off instead of a single quick connect into the valve. But this is barely a $200 job at most. If you do it yourself which all you need is videos like this and a simple jack with jack stands or even just wood blocks you will save $300+ in labor.
