Exactly, and I am saddened that we do not have this ability anymore on modern supercars due to DUAL CLUTCH, which sounds very odd and uninspiring. It is not just speed that gives pleasure of driving, there are other parameters , too. Who is going to tell that to Ferrari or Lamborghini. So far Porsche is the only one still making high performance cars with traditional Manual transmission. Although that won't ever sound like this. Sadly Shelby Mustang and Corvette both are now PDK

@@khaledkhan1741 we had both a 2014 gt500 and 2020 with the dct. Driven both, I’ve always been a fan of manual. But the one auto id take over it is the dct like whats in the 2020. It’s more fun to me than manual, as long as I use the paddles though

I heard that's actually bad for engines. Something about negative vacuum sucking oil through the piston rings causing oil consumption. You're supposed to either shift into the next gear or into neutral from what I was told.

Funnily enough I think you’ll find underneath there are quite a few bits engineered by lots of other countries. Off the top of my head, the brakes are Italian, the chassis was engineered by a couple of people from lotus (uk) and the gearbox is British

You fail to understand my statement. I never said the engine in the new GT was a F1 engine. I did state that it was a race proven engine. Both statements are true. 2014 turbo or super charged 1.6 L 15,000 rpm 90° V6 that produced 600+ hp with energy recovery systems that bring the total hp to 750. These engines are intake and fuel restricted and could produce over 1000 hp if unrestricted. "Double restriction on fuel consumption: fuel quantity for the race limited to 100 kg (-35% from 2013) with fuel flow rate limited to 100 kg/hr max" So again to those who disparage on a use of a v6, your belief that only a v8,10,12 should be used is ill-informed. There is more friction with more cylinders, more moving parts to brake and more weight. All of these things are less than desirable. Good day.

No, my comments stand. There was no topic shift. The thread topic was as disparagement on the use of a v6 power plant. I had originally addressed those statements made and are still present. It disgusts me. Ford fucked the GT40 legacy by turning the new GT into a marketing stunt to promote "Ecoboost". This car deserved a howling V8. But that's what happens when marketing men in suits make decisions for performance automobiles. The V8 is the heart and soul of the GT. The aesthetics are just an added bonus.

Im with you. Unfortunately Ford is now all about their ecoboost engines or as i call them, EGOBOOST. Because thats all they are there for. To boost Ford's ego. But anyway, this car should have had a 3.9L ecoboost 9000 rpm V8. It would have been perfect.

A turbocharged V8 would have made Lemans regulations as long as it was under 4 liters. A N/A V8 could be over 5 liters, look at the C7r. There is a rumor out there, thats saying the upcoming GT500 is actually gonna have some kinda ecoboost V8.

I love it's looks and styling.... BUT the fact that they used the twin turbo ecoboost V6 makes me cringe. Hard to imagine a Ford GT that is suppose to commemorate the legendary 1966 GT40 minus a V8.. And one things for sure the new Ford GT will never make the kind of noises the one in this video does.
