With the video relating to the Ford GT40 Recreation by Gelscoe Motorsport, we took a step back when I had the opportunity to film this splendid car. The racing car belongs to the David Hart Racing Team, whom I thank for their kindness towards me and for providing me with the onboard. We find the speedy Nikki Pastorelli at the wheel during a test session for setting up the car. Pastorelli has a huge experience in racing, having competed in the Euro Formula 3000, Dutch Supercar Challenge, and American Le Mans Series with GT cars and currently contest the championships dedicated to classic cars organized by Peter Auto. I always find it great to see his onboards. The vehicle, GEL011, Chassis number AJL9884, is a very accurate replica of the 1968 Fort GT40 model, chassis 1079 (which DHG Racing also owns). Still, unlike the original, it cannot race in some competitions, such as the Le Mans Classic or the Peter Auto Series. It can compete in other races for historic cars, Spa 6H, Masters 3 Hours, Iberian Historic Endurance series, Masters FIA Historic Sports Cars, etc. Usually, these cars adopt the Ford 289ci small block V8 engine, the same one also used on the Cobras, with the difference that here we find different intake and oil sump. Generally, the engine is coupled to a transaxle gearbox in these replicas, which Colotti or ZF can produce. Enjoy! 😉
Con il filmato relativo alla Ford GT40 Recreation by Gelscoe Motorsport facciamo un salto un po' indietro nel tempo, quando ho avuto l'occasione di filmare questa splendida vettura. L'auto da corsa appartiene al Team David Hart Racing che ringrazio per la grande gentilezza nei miei confronti ed avermi fornito l'onboard. Al volante troviamo il velocissimo Nikki Pastorelli, qui in azione durante una sessione di test per la messa a punto della vettura. Pastorelli ha un'enorme esperienza nelle competizioni avendo gareggiato nell'Euro Formula 3000, Dutch Supercar Challenge, American Le Mans Series con vetture GT ed attualmente disputa i campionati dedicati alle auto d'epoca organizzate da Peter Auto. Personalmente trovo sempre fantastico vedere i suoi onboard. La vettura, GEL011, Chassis number AJL9884, è una replica accuratissima del modello Fort GT40 del 1968, telaio 1079 (che oltretutto la DHG Racing possiede) ma a differenza dell'originale non può correre in alcune competizioni come la Le Mans Classic, oppure il Peter Auto Series. Può correre in altre gare, sempre per auto storiche, Spa 6H, Masters 3 Hours, Iberian Historic Endurance series, Masters FIA Historic Sports Cars, ecc. Solitamente queste auto adottano il motore Ford 289ci small block V8, lo stesso usato anche sulle Cobra, con la differenza che qui troviamo aspirazione e coppa dell'olio diverse. Generalmente in queste replica al propulsore viene accoppiato un cambio cambio transaxle che può essere di produzione Colotti oppure ZF. Buona visione! 😉

Fantastic! I am sure the replicas are better than the originals in many ways with some new technology. My 289 got shifted regularly at 8500-9000 rpm, where they really start to "sing" but I built it to do that. In my 67 Mustang it would do 12.10s in the 1000' and get driven to and from the strip (1.5 hour drive each way). I will miss it. It needed too much for me to keep going without a real shop to work on it. A Shelby collector bought it.

I agree that these replicas are very well built, and as you can see from the video, they are fantastic cars to drive and very fast. This team owns the original Ford GT40, chassis number 1079; the one you see in the video is a replica of that car. The same day I filmed this car, they also had the original GT40, they lit it and used it on the track, but I have a few videos of that, and I don't have the onboard. I didn't know you had a Mustang; the way you prepared it, it was a rocket! I understand that managing those cars, nor do you have a mechanical workshop to do the work, becomes too expensive, and I understand you had to sell it. At least it went into the hands of another enthusiast 👍

@@gen1c8rs88 Se non ricordo male, la vettura originale, telaio P1079 può correre con entrambe le configurazioni, quella del 1965 e quella del 1968. Dunque se la memoria non mi inganna questa replica dovrebbe essere nella configurazione del 1965 con motore 289ci.
