Ford Lightning Build - Performance Billet Pulley Bridge Install - Everything You NEED To Know!

In today's video, I compare and go over how to install an aftermarket pulley bridge to eliminate supercharger belt slip, on the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning project race truck build! The pulley bridge is CNC Machined, billet aluminum, by JC Customs CNC. It's an easy mod to do, and with the 100mm metco idler pullies, should really help stop belt slip, and really helps gives the engine bay a custom, badass look! I seriously considered the new pulley bridge. Unfortunately, my power train replacement/upgrades, (front to back & top to bottom), have exceeded the original purchase price of the truck, new MSRP, Feb 2000. The upgraded pulley bridge is still on my radar, when funds get replenished. Thank you for another great informational vid! 👍🏼😁

It seems more and more people think billet means aluminum and/or better. Which it doesn't. Anyway, looking good. Just an AUX idler cured my belt slip👍

Google “what is billet aluminum”…it’s one of the most widely used aluminum product forms globally. Billet metal is a solid length (often square or circle) of material that has been extruded into shape either by continuous casting or hot rolling. Billet material is often used in CNC Machining. When we order material, more often then not, it’s extruded billet (insert material type here)

why would I need to google? I understand what it means. I've been in a machine shop for over a decade. I didn't say you used it in a wrong way at all. I hope it didn't come out that way. My two points were the word billet is used to sell in the car scene and it doesn't always mean better. It's just something I noticed over many years. I'm just making conversation, I'm not trying to be derogatory.

Ah ok, cool! Didn't know you had machine shop experience, sorry if that came across any type of way. Most people don't know what billet is, so that's why I posted that. I may have took it wrong, my apologies. But it's all good! Pretty cool that you've been doing it that long, i'm just crossing a decade this year myself! I do agree it is an overused term, people or companies tend to use it to make products seem all fancy lol. I'm guilty of over using it sometimes myself, probably because of how much the word is pushed lol 😂 But yeah sorry if my response came off any type of way, hard to take context over comments lol, didn't mean anything negative by it at all 🤘

Looks great! I will have to check and see if that pulley bridge works with a Whipple 3.2! Were the Metco pullies purchased in a kit? I like them also.

That I'm not certain, you could hit him up and ask. The metco pullies were bought individually from metco, don't remember how much or anything, it's been a while lol

I noticed you mentioned your metco pulleys are double bearing are they the 10rib pulleys? I also have a problem with single bearing pulleys

@@pullupperformance1842 still the standard 8 rib belt setup, but since the Idlers are smooth, and the back of the belt rides on those anyways, when buying, I selected the 10rib double bearing option for those. They offer the tensioner pulley in double bearing 8 rib, and the blower/crank are still 8 rib as well. You just have to buy the idlers as "10 rib" to get the double bearings, but since they are smooth, it doesn't matter.

@@DebtLife_Projects I just discovered that dragy really doesn’t really have a search function for a specific name, just make and model. Just trying to get an idea where your best ET on slicks without traction issue before you do the blower swap.

Gotcha, definitely going to be doing a lot of testing and hits on the current setup before the swap, lots of videos to come on that. I havnt ran on the slicks at all yet, havnt even mounted them up

@@DebtLife_Projects you gotta mount your slicks and test with that setup. I have a very similar setup as you do and I absolutely can’t hook on my street’s, same as yours 305 nitto extreme dr. Two step @2k (pi converter) will annihilate them on a prepped track. Put the Hoosiers on and I’ll rip a 1.6 60ft 6.60 and change 1/8. Simply you won’t be able to compare blowers without taking the tires out of the equation. Good luck and I’m anxious to see the tvs vs ported eaton. Btw I’m just finishing my built short block with ported heads but I’ll be keeping the ported eaton and running a 2 stage nitrous.
