Today, I install the GT500 2.3 Trinity TVS billet mid plate adapter and Trick Performance upgraded Intercooler for the built Ford SVT Lightning's new supercharger swap! I also go over my custom cnc port I did to the mid plate, show some of the other airflow, and cooling mods i've done, to make sure it's more efficient, and ready to keep the boost as cool as possible.

What made you go this route versus getting a whipple or kenne bell?

It's equivalent to and on par with a 2.3 whipple, but with more torque, and it's the road less traveled. Everyone slaps a whipple or kb on now, it's cookie cutter at this point. I wanna do something different, and show what the tvs is capable of.

I have a 13 GT500 and I have a "Lightning swapped" F150 4x4. I got tired of changing TR6 plugs all the time, did some research on the OEM plugs in my GT500, they are made by NGK. I bought a set and put them in my lightning swap truck and they are great, no more 10K plug changes and blower pulls.

Did you have to trim the radiator hose for the midplate to sit properly? I know most people have to trim

Most hoses you'll have to trim or not put on all the way, it does interfere. But the mishimoto silicone hoses seem to be thinner, I got mine to fit all the way on, it's tight, but it comes on and off with the midplate torqued down

Love the videos man. Just catching up. I am still running the kenne bell charger but it has to come off next week to change the actuator. Any suggestions? I am particularly interested in improving the intercooler. The stock one is dirty and better to just change it out. Any advice what intercooler to buy and what else to buy along with the upgraded intercooler would be appreciated.

These adapter plates had big problems in the beginning, guess those have all been engineered out by now? Looks like it will accept either a 9 row or a 10 row IC?

Yup, JCCustoms now makes them, and they are a lot thicker, with better reenforcement. These don't flex like the early tarlock plates did. Accepts 9 row, 10 row, and trick performance Intercoolers.

@@DebtLife_Projects Nice. I'm thinking that if I sell myself my trinity blower from my 13 GT500, use it on my 4x4 Lighting swapped truck, and use that money to buy a new blower for my 500...I could make money on the swap🤔

Still watching your video. If a screw/bolt doesn’t go all the way through, run a chaser or tap through the threads and also a die on the bolt. I bet that alone would’ve solved your problem instead of having to install a part without all of its included hardware.

If it was a more critical, load bearing part, or didn't have 12 other bolts mounting it, I would have, I've fixed a ton of threads in my 10 years of being a machinist lol. But seeing as it's not critical, and has plenty of bolts/hardwear already holding/mounting it, I didn't find it worth pursuing.

Oh man, I remember taking my original unit off and finding an oil soaked, clogged intercooler. Half the rotor coating came off and it looked like a zillion paint chips stuck down those little passages.

Yup! That's why when these new owners buy trucks and ask what pulley and mods to do, I stop them right there, and tell them to clean the intercooler first lol. Trucks run so much better when they can breathe and cool intake temps properly!

It’s gonna be stuck with that copper spray dude. I’d recommend against using the copper spray especially if the gasket is already a rubber material. Rubber gaskets seal just fine without needing silicone or spray.
