I showing how need unlock car and start engine when contactless key not detected. Or its looks like key not working. In my experience it is a car problem not a key.
Hi. Sorry for getting back to you so late... following leaving my car with a dealer for nearly a week, they seem to finally locate the fault. I was told that 2 of the remote units inside the car (remote control module and receiver needs replacing). For the “pleasure” of fixing it I was quoted 700£
Artur Barczewski Hi my mechanic said 1 of antena gone witch scan key or wires between body and doors. But i still cary on until now with same problem. I use to it now 😉. Plus it not often, but anoing. How many times i try show mechanic that problem and he could check on computer or test, but until i reach garage this note gone. On my car i believe it is wiress between door and body, because sometimes when you open any doors note coming keys outside, but usualy after 5-10 min note gone. It is so strange problem i can't proparly explane. But it was for long time and not getting any better or worst. I should fix but as i said i use to it. If you will found that problem let me known 😉
Mine is showing key not detected and engine malfunction, that's strange, I went to ford dealer to ask them for a service which I cancel after (too expensive obviously ford) the only thing they did is washing my car just outside, I took the car back home and I did not drove the car for a couple of days, after that the car start to show, key not detected and engine malfunction, although I can open and close the car remotely, and yes I tried to disconnect the battery and "reset" everything, it doesn't work at all... One week ago I bought a second car, and the fob of second car I kept near the ford fob, does somehow the fobs between them did something...?
Sergiu Cebotari hi on mine show key not detected sometimes, then i can't unlock or lock car with remote and can't start engine without putting key in egnition. Sometimes around you the radio frequency used by your remote can also be used by other short distance radio transmisions. Sometimes i notice remote not working if i keep next to coins or other keys. About engine Malfunction i had when my stearing electric pump gone. But it could show for many reason. DPF filter sensor, oil sensor, and many other sensors. Best to do deagnostic may it show problem or code with wich you can found problem. Hope you fix. And please let me know what was it. Thanks
I don't fix it. I tried, but usually, the problem disappeared until I came to the mechanic. On my car, this problem was maybe once a week or once in 6 months and lasted for 1 day to a week. Just got used to it. Everybody experiences different. In my case, the mechanic said it would be more hassle to find a problem, and I will not be gonna be happy for the bill.
Never done it with programmed replacement key, but I believe it should work, because it reads your immobiliser code and unless your key is same designed shape as original. But recommend to discuss with someone who programming keys.
By my mechanic, it is one or more signal receivers failing. In this car, about 5 or 7 receivers. He said it hard to identify which one, and it will be too expensive to find out and fix it. He recommended driving until it broke and then fixing it.😀 My car does this 6 years occasionally but never failed.
