I almost passed a brick when I saw how much Xenons were when my main beam popped! Luckily Halfords was wrong and I needed the standard H7 😁. The Adaptive lights are really funky especially the first time you use them. I miss them when I drive the wife's Galaxy. Folding mirrors are great for car parks but damn expensive to replace! The Titty-X is lovely to drive, seats are great especially the air-cooled ones, keep the plums nice and chilled!
A d I’m currently thinking about modifying my Xenons for LED projectors from Lexus, laser sharp ray of light! Wish to have air cooled seats too, luckly I don’t freeze off my plums during chilly winter morning on the way to my work 🥶
Nice to see a Ti-X on your workshop Alan. As a proud owner of my navy blue 2008 2.0 TDCI Titanium X estate with Aisin gearbox I can say it’s a hell of great car! I actualy find myself loving pre-lifting models much more nicer looking than 2010 models onwards.
Thanks Alan, you must be psychic!! My Mk4 Ti-X started complaining about the key battery being low last week .. and even stranger I had bought some CR3032's for another job and had a few spare .. Just swapped in a new battery, all good now. Top job as always and making us laugh along the way... cheers !!
Mondeo is a beautiful car…I always wanted one.. If it has the keyless entry system then you could just leave it in the road overnight & someone will open it for you..mine got done twice in one week…then few weeks later twice again in one week…
I've had my mondeo over 2 1/2 years and thought the manual key for the doorlock had been mislaid by the previous owner i googled about what to do if the car battery went flat etc and it took me to this video so i need worry no more as I've had keys all the time
Extremely roomy comfy and quiet been using them for ten years, clashed gears on manual loads of times gearboxes seem bomb proof, just don't let tank run low dirt seems to get to injectors too easily if you do it a few times.
Just got one of these cars and on my second time to go out in it , my keyless system stop seeing the key , have you had a prob like this before , had to use the key like you did to get in the car ? ive changed battery in both keys and still not working ?
That's actually the old style key fob, the 2015 onwards has a single catch on the non button side, and takes 2 batterys with a thin plastic shim between them. Opening the battery section is best done with a 1p coin.
So thanks for showing us how to get into the car but the video I really want to see is how do I start it as there is no place to put the key that I can see to run through the remote reset sequence
You should show the rest of what you do with the key fob , if the key battery packs up .. as I’ve read what to do , but not done it myself .to remove the blanking p,ate where you would normally have an ignition key , then push the whole key fob into this , apparently the alarm sounds for a period until you start the car ..is that correct ??
I can see an issue with the key blade being hidden inside the "my key". The issue is that it's very possible you could take the key blade out and then sell the car on to someone who doesn't really know all to much about cars and screw them over big time, and trust me where I live there will be chancers that will do that kind of thing.
Hi Alan I've got the same colour tit x business mondy, just bought it and pulling my hair out the remote won't lock the drivers door. The inner lock moves slightly but not lock. With remote any ideas and I wish you was closure as I love the Mondys and would love a mechanic who lives near me that knows them
I have a 2013 Fusion (U.S. market Mondeo), the differences between the two cars are truly odd. Mine is silver, has privacy glass, tho it was added by the previous owner/non-factory, and the dashboard/instrument panel and console are all " slightly " different. The center display on this car looks much bigger than that available on any 2014 U.S. Fusion, and starting in 2013, if not sooner, the handbrake was changed to a small button on the console. And no manual transmission is/was available. My car, being the " S " or most basic trim does not have alloy wheels, but black steel wheels with plastic wheel covers. Because of the stupid tire pressure monitoring system on U.S. cars replacing my wheels with alloys is neither cheap nor easy. Also just noticed that the front facia, grille opening, headlights, and auxiliary lighting is different, too. BTW, Titanium X was never offered in U.S. and to be honest, except for the large display screens, this looks like what would be a lower-mid level trim Fusion/Mondeo in the ' states.
It's not keyless entry, that was an additional option. It's keyless ignition though. There were 3 options, keyed ignition, keyless ignition (standard on Titanium up) and keyless entry/ignition as an option.
Stop making me want to keep my mk4. Had a look at a lot of smaller (on the inside) 2015/6 SUVs but for the same price I can get a very well spec'd mk5. Just got to find the right one.
The Endura-DE and the TD that came in the MK1 Mondeo. Most reliable 4cyl diesel in a passenger car ever. They've been building unreliability into their engines ever since.
Allan, one question! I have a very similar trim/build car. 2014, 2.2 200ps Mondeo. Very similar built too, but not Titanium-X trim. (Ie.: Has the same satnav, has camera, but no half-leather seats.) I have two problem: 1) There is a faint high-pitched noise coming out of the dash. It's NOT the sound you hear when you shut off the car and close it, and there is this high pitched whine coming out of the engine bay. I hear that in every Ford we use/I used. This high-pitched noise is different. Sounds electrical, and if I would have to point at something, I'd point at those two very front vents on the dashboard. The two close ones to the windshield. I tried to ask in Facebook groups, I tried to ask on forums, but no replies whatsoever. They said it's not uncommon, adjust seating position, etc etc. But some said, it can be mitigated by using grease or some other material. Do you have any information on this? Would love to fix it up. 1) maybe stupid but the sound might come if your audio is on the line in input and the volume is high. At least mine does the same and that was the cause. Solution is to turnndownnthe volume whenever on line in. Hope it helps. Cheers
