Great video! I was wondering if you could help me? I changed my cars oil and filter in September 2500miles ago and reset the oil light but today my car says it’s time to change the oil again and I’m getting an error code of P253F oil deteriorated any ideas as to why?
The warning message comes on because the oil is diluted with fuel thereby reducing its viscosity, just resetting it without changing the oil risks damaging your engine
no, the 1.6 is noticeably underpowered and i have heard many head gasket stories on either the 1.5 or 1.6...not sure but the 2litre may have crap parts bolted to the engine but the engine and the gasket are very strong
yes it is.. on the mk4 there will also be a message in the display saying resetting and reset but i am not sure if it works for the models with the push button start
I remember in my volvo to reset the warnings you had to do a little dance with the key and the trip computer button. I remember being a bit baffled back then
This does not work on Mondeo sold in Australia. It looks the same as the UK model. With both pedals pushed down for 30 seconds, the display is static, it does not cycle through warnings. Then next time I start engine, the oil life warning is still there!
you can still use the switches on your steering wheel to reset the oil change interval...go to settings and oil life reset..hold the ok button down until the reset is complete
Starting to think my Wife is moonlighting as a taxi driver. Whenever I take her car out it seems to have about 5miles left in it. It's 4 miles to the nearest petrol station. 😠
@@alan4x I know. When I serviced mine (2.2 same engine as the Ford) it's a right fingers n thumbs job. You have to do it in sequence and with seconds or it does not reset. Nonsense really. Great video Alan.
