I've seen a few V70 builds with the B5244T (81mm bore, thicker cylinder walls) that would have smashed that Mustang...if a guy in a Volvo wants to race you and your car sucks, just say no.
@@phishphood423 yep. Idk if you’ve heard of BayAreaRacing on RU-vid but there’s a red 850R that shits on cobras, Japanese tuners, and a lot of other muscle cars. He even was able to hang with a modded supercharged E55
This drag race results are euphoric for all Volvo enthusiasts and car brand lovers. Not surprised, Volvos are known to do well with open-road and long-distance driving. Thumbs Up!
These "P2" generation of Volvos (S80, S60, V70, XC90, XC70) are very solid, heavy duty vehicles that can do VERY high mileages.... Mine has 442,000 miles on the clock, and a previous owner drove it all across Europe as some type of Taxi. Today it is my daily driver, and I cannot find any rust on the bodywork.
Love to hear it, my fellow men of class. Mines at 212k, runs very strong, and I take good care of her. I have to ask though, any major engine work or anything for that matter that you've come across yet ?
You couldn’t have chosen 2 more different cars. It’s almost comical to see V70 here.Typically tows a boat trailer or hauling a whole family. Well done for amazing speed. WOW!!
@@dude-in2sx hi Sam. Nice to meet you. I’m Anna Louise. Tell me how you get on. I’ll cross my fingers for you. I had one of these V70s years ago. The quality was superb. It does everything you could possibly want from your car….., and then some. 😍
@@dude-in2sx I used to have one. It was such a good car. Only sold it as i had 2 toddlers and then had twins so I needed a 7 seater. Bought the XC90. I’m now on my second XC90. How are you liking your V70? 😃
@@dude-in2sx yes, the V70 is one of those you get attached to 🥰. Mine is £89.000 from new. (Second generation) mine is a first generation so it’s affordable and I’ll tell you I have no idea how people go on to drive anything else once they have driven a XC90. 😅 316bhp so not as powerful as the Audi Q7 or the BMW X5 but it’s very reliable and has had no fatalities since it came out in 2002. (Neither the first nor the second generation ) I’m looking to make the jump up to second generation XC90 hopefully this year purely for the extra safety features that it comes with. I’m so jealous are you really going to Sweden? The V70 is awesome for traveling in. The boot space is superb. 👌🏼😃
@@dude-in2sx omg! When were you there? Where is Sweden were you? I’m going to the Cotsworlds this year just because 3 out of our 4 kids are not vaccinated so not going abroad. 🥲
It's not even a T5, it's a 2.4T. The T5 has 50 or 60 hp more depending on model year. I know the naming scheme doesn't make much sense. 2.5T, 2.4T, T5 (2300cc), T5 (2400cc) and T5 (2500cc). Of the T5's the 2400cc is the most driveable because of VVT on both inlet and outlet. The 2300cc can take a bit more boost on stock internals. The 2500cc is bored out too much and can't take much boost or heat, cylinder walls crack between 150k and 250k on stock daily drivers generally.
I purchased a XC70 about week ago and I love it. It's my second one but this one rocks. It just wants to fly and I took it on HWY 1 here on the cost of CA and the handling was excellent. The gas mileage isn't the best but I'm still happy because I only commute about 12 to 24 miles per day. Very happy I was blessed to get it.
@Alfie Sydney aaaah i see, i was talking about the fastest time haha. My dad has a 850 t-5r and it's amazing. I own a 244 2.3 carb myself and a 4.6 3v mustang. They're both very lovely cars. The stangs are a bit more rare here in the Netherlands but boy do people love the old volvo
@@emielcors We do in UK to M8 I've got 2 phase 1 T5R,s took prop off 1 of them so runs FWD only. 1 is manual other is a Auto. Bloody frightening for a Estate car... They are.. Ordinary people will never understand.. LOL
I got a V70 with the t5 turbo. I was bussin 150 on the interstate one day, a cop actually raced me 🤷🏿♂️. That tank with a sunroof is a dream to drive. Team Volvo ✊🏿
The Police used these as their Traffic Cop cars in the UK for years. They really were seriously quick! I remember getting stopped by one or two of these
Yep, winning is winning, but when you sit and think that you almost loose to a Volvo wagon more than 12 years older and a fraction of the money you spended in your car, man, you really need to redo strategies
would have liked to have seen the quarter mile view! nice tow bar detail, when everyone else bought a D5 we got the 2.4 170bhp (petrol) love it , turning circle rubbish though , only down side.
@@SMLSammy Not attacking, but have you built any one of those? That is a legend that they are weak. Small stock turbos and no proper tune kill engines because detonation comes very easily with stock ecus. Forged rods and shim the block(a precaution), and you're good to go for 500-600hp easy :) Detonation kills both blocks.. good tune will make them both work perfectly.
First fast as hell Volvo V70. Second I had to watch it again to make sure I saw what I saw. The Volvo driver jumped the start. He started at the yellow light and not the green. Watch it again and in slow motion.
Had a mustang 5.0 pumping the throttle at a red light, i got a huge jump, unfortunately she had to slow down for a turning tractor, she caught up at the next light and I smoked her within a 1/4mile I had a car and a half lead.😁
That volvo was came to dragrace equipped with shitty styling show wheels😂. They can't choose WORST wheels for drag.. that's when owner suffering of ..beautiness😂😂. He get worst ET than i obtained runing street passat 1.9tdi awd (old 110bhp at base, also variant/van)😂😂
