technically if he had a warrant, the cops were already "after him". By fleeing, the situation remains basically static (in his messed-up mind), as the the police remain after him. It's important to note these kinds of suspects don't believe fleeing and eluding to be a crime, and instead believe it to be their obligation.
Yeah, the weight of the Tahoe makes it sluggish on takeoff (looks like the hood of my Tahoe). The Ford Taurus SHO or the Dodge Charger are a lot better for working traffic on the freeway.
I sadly can’t understand what was the reason he says for pulling over, “you cut the air twice” or that he changed lanes twice something like that? Because that didn’t look like reckless driving to e, unless the 75mph was already over the speed limit? I’m not scared of 20 years or whatever in prison, I’m scared of that whatever couple hundred dollars fine (and the stain plus increase on the license, and also the stain and fees on the insurance).
I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't risk my life chasing ANYONE at 130+ MPH! You've already got his identification!! No wonder cops need to fail an exam to pass the academy
If my trunk is full of drugs, and I have a warrant I honestly see no reason to not run. If you run and get away, yeah I have a eluding and resisting arrest charge but I'm not facing twenty years with 2 pounds of whatever. That's why people run. Plain and simple. Edit: all the comments saying fleeing is a felony is incorrect. Looked it up. Misdemeanor in Arkansas
@icon maybe he thought he didn’t have any warrants and no smell of drugs in car so he maybe was thinking he was just getting a ticket and on about his way.
The trans aint shit compared to under the hood . That 5.0 coyote aint a joke. Anyone who knows engines knows that 5.0 is a pretty potent engine. Much larger displacement engines cant even fxck with it without boost
I got a 6 speed manual myself over the 10 speed just because I prefer the experience of a manual. But if I wanted serious acceleration I would have gone for that 10 speed no doubt! Thing is insane.
@@luciankristov6436 the 10 speed trans which isnt in this mustang is a great transmission. But what you mean the larger displacement cant fuxk with the 5.0? the 6.4L Hemi makes more power and a boat load more torque and so does the LS/LT engines
The new explorers troopers use are twin turbo v6 eco boost motors with emergency service performance upgrades like a better ecu calibration suspension and a few other things. But my point is a stock 5.0 better have a good driver cause that little v6 will scream for what it is. Troopers downside is all the equipment they have. All that weight they add definitely slows them down a ton. I think they even upped the top speed to 155 before they cut off now
@@dnunley423 The explorer top speed is like 130, the 5.7 charger top speed is like 155, and a mustang will do 162 stock, but with a tune a mustang will do 170+ and supercharged with 750 crank horsepower they can do into the 180's easily.
This is why SOMETIMES I assume when I see blue lights they are just wanting to discuss color or finance options for my year vehicle and I decline to stop for such trivial conversations. ;
Yea but if they told him to step out of the car, he would of knew something was up and still dipped out on them. He didn’t break any laws, that was a BS stop any ways lol.
What is the craziest part to me is the fact that the mustang obviously being alot faster was able to find a passing lane between every driver on a two lane road with everyone moving over or him maneuvering. And a lot of times they don’t move over! Cops have an advantage in that aspect with sirens aswelll
True, I saw a video of an officer training his young rookie officer. Durning the traffic stop the rookie was its taking to long for him to stop.....time to pit him. The training officer was he is just looking for a safe place to pull over. The car stopped, had an older couple. The rookie was ready to pounce. LOL the point ASP officers are so trained to stop a car at all cost .and they are eager to do it.
ok let me explain what happened here. he ran tags and his warrant was connected to them (some states do that link, FL for certain). so he got pulled over. trooper goes in with a stupid lie as to why he pulled him over...dude rolls the dice and gives id. maybe he gets lucky. when cop comes back its clear what is going on. so why run? likely had drugs in the car. when he gets arrested car will get searched and he loses a lot more. running adds that charge but not distribution + loss of product. ok. so it doesnt matter if he gave info; he is already in the system as you clearly can tell.
@@brandonsanders3212leave it to dumb GM to put the same old 320 horsepower 5.3 liter in the huge heavy Tahoe....when the 1000 pound lighter ford explorer has 400 horsepower. GM is so weird
That is very much what sort of happened with that Police Officer in San Antonio inside of a Mcdonalds parking lot. Some officers take things like that very personal...
As a former truck driver, I was wondering why he just didn't slow down and get behind the other guy. Even if he'd been right behind that mustang before the truck delayed him, that delay would have clearly given the GT the advantage it needed to escape
Ford Mustang mechanical engineer watching this video: chuckles softly to himself, puts his feet up and takes a small sip of brandy, saying to his wife in the kitchen, " dear, you really have to come over here and watch another one of our Mustang videos, this one is exemplary!".
Meanwhile his father, a kind-faced commoner who often shares in the triumphs and joys of his children, sits distressed with thoughts of how slow the crown vic, the very same model he designed back in 1988, is to accelerate...
@A C My '88 GT would top out around 155ish. It was pretty stock. At that speed the front felt like it wanted to lift but that's about all my little 302 had in it anyways. I used to dust the 94+ cars unless if it was a Cobra or a Termi. 4.6 dohc Fox and Mark 8 were fast. 4.6 Termi, they ruled everything. 4.6 sohc, don't make me laugh.
Straight 🆙 and dwn lied that’s exactly what came out of my mouth as he said it but das what they do it’s almost like 2nd nature too make up some shyt for probable cause
He did hit the yellow once but he didn’t break it. He ran the plate and knew they might have a warrant and then used that and the yellow line as a reason but only told him about the line until he confirmed that he had a warrant
@@perplexedxbox5930 he ain't even really touch it like that I been watching it back hella to see why they was pulling them over and couldn't figure it out bc I drive worse than that on my best day 🤣🤣🤣
I remembered one time I ran from the cops on my mustang Ecoboost😭😂 I was caught speeding on the freeway here in CA, as soon as I saw the cop on the side of the freeway turning on his lights and hopping inside the freeway to chase me, I put it on track mode and went 140mph and took the second exit but he was chasing me for some good 7 mins before I lost him when I took the exit ahaha
It's kind of funny that his probable cause for pulling the Mustang over in the 1st place was cutting over the yellow line a couple times. During them trying to catch him the officer went over the yellow line about 7 times.
I agree the reason for the stop was questionable, tire never fully crossed the line I don’t know what the exact law is though. Was moving around like he was maybe drunk at first. I wouldn’t make that comparison but the stop was questionable
Yep, that one was a lost cause. My 2011 GT will get to 100mph so fast it's scary, and 140-150 is no problem on my Sport Comps. Not that I would do this, especially to a Trooper, but the capabilities of these Mustangs/Camaros/Challengers is just impressive.
@7:39 trooper cross the yellow line at 104mph chasing ghosts He Needs to Pull Over so that the trooper riding next to him can write him a citation and run his ID.
Well he said it was his “moms” car so most likely wasn’t in his name. Driver license info can be an old address who knows.. my shits an old address that I don’t live at anymore, too lazy to change it. Hate the DMV.
You can never outrun the law unless you have at least 10 Million dollars stashed overseas in a non extradition country and a private plane that can get you there. Otherwise you are simply delaying the inevitable and adding more charges to your record. IMHO but I am not a lawyer and I don't even play one on TV.....
Back in the Crazy '80s, a friend of mine in a 5.0 LX (not GT) had a cop behind him when he put a temporary tag in the rear window (had it for months, long expired). The chase was on! Cop was in an old Diplomat or Gran Fury. Yeah, no. First cloverleaf he got to, cop loooong left in the dust, he does a Crazy Ivan going through all the loops and comes up *behind* the cop who had already blown past. Cop's flying off in the distance, bud's now doing a nice easy 55, a few more cops come blowing past him yet! They're looking for someone who should've been miles up ahead, and here he is putzing along at 55. He gets off and hits a local diner, parking in the back lot, sitting there an hour or more before heading on home. He said that even if one of the cops dragging up the rear would've stopped him, he would've taken the ticket for the temporary, but still played dumb. "Yeah, this cop went flying off chasing this other car, but it wasn't me! I was just minding my own business!" Good luck explaining how the first cop chasing him magically blew right past him and lost him. Good times, good times...
Running from police in your moms car and after the cops saw who they were dealing with saw the persons ID and have have tag number . Nothing short of stupid !!!
They have all his info and his warrant was drug charges. With this moderate amount of traffic and to risk public it's probably the right call to not pursue past 100mph anyway and let the long arm catch him at his mom's house.
Thank you for your expert analysis of this situation - a def valuable nugget of information you provided. I will sleep better knowing you are all over it.
If the police were fully aware they were pulling over a Mustang with Warrants they should have planned on having a crowd of people standing at the next exit. It would have been attracted to them and distracted enough that they would have been able to get a lasso on it real quick like.🐎🐴💫🎗
Those 5.0 coyotes are crazy. The volumetric efficiency of that engine is nuts dude. Little 5 liter motor can spin 8500 rpm NA and put out 650 HP 500+ lbs of torque at the crank without boost with just bolt ons and E85. Big blocks need a whole host of shit just to make those numbers , heads , cam ,intake , fuel system , valve springs , rockers , pushrods and are usually unstreetable low RPM afterwards.
@@luciankristov6436 OK first off, those cars are not gaining 200 plus horsepower and torque from bolt ons an E85. Secondly, the fuel cut off is at 6750 RPM so no, it does not rev at 8500 RPM.
@@TheWholeGrainBread_Real obviously you're a Chevy dude.. since you don't know shit about mustangs. For a couple of hundred bucks you can shut the engine limiters completely off and with a boss 302 intake 8000+ is no problem. But that's coyote NOT ls or mouse motors.
I used to take Michigan State Police, and Kentucky State Police, on a run just for fun back in the day! I've spent my share of time locked up and chained down for a few poor choices, but I'm older now, and retired from the system!
lol i was a dayton kid, we used to run on foot and get cops to chase us after doing some hits of acid..purple microdot.. just for kicks.. never caught fuck those was the days.. later we did dirtbikes under the city , huge drain pipes.. fucking flying on two wheels.. no speed limits ..lol no cops ... just a lil stream of water now and then..lol fallow the painted arrows..lol
How can you ever expect to catch anything when you... A. Take forever to accelerate to 130 MPH and... B. Never go over 135 MPH? I can't believe how slow that State Trooper's car was! 😱
Hats off to the state Police for being very respectful, courteous, and patient. A lot of officers would've had their guns drawn out once they pulled his record with a warrant.
In my younger days, if I thought it was the cops behind me, and if I thought it wasn't close enough to get my tags, I would have run in my Roush. With a rolling start at 80, I would have dropped down to fourth and be hitting 140 before he even reacted. With the traffic, I would have broken line of sight and then turned my lights off, and down shifted to take the next exit. I would already have been on the other side of the highway when he finally caught up. I may have been a dumb kid back then, but I did know how to drive a muscle car. kids now a days just don't know how to drive.
30 years old here. I may or may not have successfully evaded the police a half dozen times or more. But I agree the vast majority can't drive to save their life.
@@jimmyhawkins5357 I am talking about the average high school or college kid who buys more car than he can handle. As far as Nascar goes, you do know it is described as go fast turn left, go fast turn left? How well would they do at Sebring or Le Mans?
it seams this would help a lot of times. even if the cops vehicles had arms that come out and go under the car and they put them out every time they pull over a vehicle

Hat's off to the trucker who provided the rolling roadblock. Love it. Probable cause to pull the Mustang over was a bit weak. He touched the yellow line, maybe twice. Touched it, not straddled or crossed, just "touched it". Then the trooper almost runs off the road chasing the guy. Ha ha ha....
Cop ran the plates and discovered a warrant; that’s why he pulled him over. The yellow line was just a cover while he checked to see if the driver was the one with the warrant.
"I'm pulling you over because you cut the yellow line twice" when the driver barely touches the yellow line, doesn't even cross it, during an uneven highway turn cx he was just itching for a reason to pull someone over
Doubt it was mom's, notice as he was pulling him over, the cop tells dispatch "I think it's him warrant through the Marshals". Cop doesn't know it's the guy they are looking for if the registration was for Mary Smith, so probably his car
