Protecting & Serving....by pulling 1 guy over for 80...then passing dozens at 130 at night on curves. Well played ASP. Yes, the driver should have pulled over then played the game in court...but if you can't catch em in 1-2 min then please protect the public and yourself & term' pursuit
i agree 100%. this is NOT acceptable, anymore. Too much Risk to us innocent drivers and our families. The police do not or rarely have to pay or account for the damages.... they cause. New laws technology needed.
You have no clue if the plate he ran had a wanted person inside...who knows it could've been for homicide. The point is put yourself in the officers shoes. Stop playing armchair officer/lawyer/judge/jury!
The Arkansas troopers leadership need to realize that so many times these pursuits are a danger to everyone out there. Why keep chasing at such high speed with the bad guy out of sight? The trooper seems to be on a joy ride. Officer you are risking your career, life of yourself and others and perhaps criminal and/or civil punishment, god forbid, if an innocent person is injured or killed due to you needlessly continuing a pursuit. Adrenaline often clouds good judgement therefore Arkansas State Police leadership needs to update policy to guide troopers about high-speed pursuits and PITS to protect the public. Yes I like to watch these videos as they are exciting but police work should not be considered a sporting event!
Your so right I always say that They do this for what a speeding ticket It’s not really about justice U heard the cop say I saw him before It sounds personal vendetta or just plain old jealousy. What did the challenger really do go 80 in a 65 or 70 The cop is going 130 It really is sickening the lack of accountability in policing in America.
After the Hellcat rounded the first right bend and went out of sight, the officer was just guessing out loud. He really had no clue if the Hellcat was still on the highway or even still in the state. : P
This cop trying to convince himself he could still see him after the 2nd curve is hilarious. Arkansas is wild. Real life GTA out there. Glad to see another citizen win. These cops are nuts.
Having "been there, done that" as a highway patrolman and a Hellcat owner, an experienced officer understands the limits of his unit and must accept the reality that some chases are fruitless and will only further risk public safety. As to the HC operator, once apprehended via any number of sources, he should suffer grave consequences. You play, so shall you pay.
you know there are only so many of these cars so in the old days, you run a DMV check, get the address and go visit at 3am. I remember racing a Jag in my 70 Javelin 390 and the speedo went to 140. I was at least 20 mph past that when I pushed in the clutch,(after dusting the Jag) and coasted uphill over the 205 bridge in Oregon City. The multi-piston calipers worked real good and we got slowed down to about 40 at the exit heading towards Lake Oswego. The 205 freeway was new at the time so very smooth. Those were the old street racing days of dragging Broadway then go down 6th until the motorcycle cops would run us out of town but we would go to 82nd or 122nd or the Banfield. Then I had a 1969 Hurst SC/Rambler. It was a factory race car and me was a dumb kid driving a drug...
there was lots of time for the video to capture the license plate number and no real reason for the Leo to keep driving that fast other than it is fun.
I'll never understand why police cruisers aren't made with that kind of HP and why they're governed, especially in states where there seem to be a lot of chases
Just some cool advice from your uncle Al! Get you a matte color paint job, get you a toggle switch to delete the rear lights, break lights give your vic away on a chase, that way when you do exit, your vic is never seen exiting! You're welcome! 😅
Problem is law states after so long they have to stop the pursuit. He knew his car couldn't catch the chally and still tried. They need to be responsible when they blatantly disobey laws. Just facts
@@srt392_ag6 i wonder why the trooper didn't speed past 130mph, maybe he was to afraid. that challenger wasn't afraid at all. i have a charger rt daytona and the furthest i took it was 120 mph and that made me nervous
The stress this causes to other drivers on the road is well more detrimental than retiring the chase even if you're technically not supposed to by training. The plates were ran, serve the warrant and investigate - it was a suspended license for goodness sake. Most reckless people including this officer couldn't care less about other people's safety or well-being and that's a major problem everyone faces daily in our society.
@@ianrosado758 I'm qualified to have any opinion I want, just like you. And just because it's his "job", doesn't mean he can't use better judgement performing his job. That's what separates people who are alright at their job vs great at their job. People who give a shit generally fall into the category of being great at what they do. This schmuck, who disregarded everyone's safety for a high pursuit joyride, doesn't give a shit and it's obvious.
Yep, I agree with other commenters. That Challenger ducked off the interstate at the first exit, in plain sight no less. After that, it's a just a joyride for the trooper.
The fact that they cant outrun a radio warms *my* heart on a cold winter day. Go, Law Enforcement! Back the Blue! Black and white American flags with a Blue stripe all over your front lawns and now in your minds! May Law Enforcement forever have all the funding and privilege that can be given! You disorderlies and law breakers will never win. Chew on that for a minute or two! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
That sure does blow the whole "150 mph" top end on a police car theory up, doesn't it? You got every magazine about cars bragging those Ford Explorers can hit 150 mph, but not here? It must just be a scare tactic.
This is NOT a joke! These mega-horsepowered vehicles should not be on public streets or highways. Those who risk the lives of law abiding citizens should not be given props but arrested.
Cmon Copper admit it you were chasing a ghost. You couldn't see him. He left you in the dust as soon as you lit him up. I basically watched you for 8 minutes driving by yourself. Your puny 130 mph is no match for a 200mph Hellcat. Thank you Dodge, good job!
Lmao, that was the perfect road for the hellcat, smooth and straight. Mr red and blue locked at 130 aint got a chance chasing a vehicle going 160-180 🤣🤣
The trooper called in the plates before he activated his lights because he knew that if the driver decided not to stop he didn’t stand a chance of catching him. And he was right.
@@bryansimmons4550 Oh its wrong? Weird cuz I literally run no plates n run from the cops almost every weekend with my car group....but for sure... a guy named Bryan Simmons knows way more im sure! :)
@@sirren8808 You are right. I know more than you do. How many years were you a LEO? I forgot. And thanks for admitting you are an idiot scofflaw, who thinks he has the right to do whatever he wants. When you or someone from your "car group" (sounds like a whole gang of punks) kills an innocent person running from the cops, how will you feel then?
@@bryansimmons4550 How is it wrong? You'd be stupid as hell to know a cop got that close and still run with real plates on..not hard to get yourself fake or stolen plates or just run no plates at all...but then again I doubt Bryan Simmon knows anything about that.
@2:37 he lost sight of the challenger as it went over the horizon and blacked out @ 3:00 the challenger got off at the exit and the trooper went flying by... watch it closely. brake lights out of the dark on the exit.@ 4:50 trooper passes an ASP suv that never saw the hellcat. @ 7:20 trooper says i think i see him... LIAR! he passed the challenger early in the pursuit and missed it. he wants to justify his pursuit/speed.
Growing up through the 70s I watched muscle car become shadows of their former strength. It is cool as hell watching these wicked machines do their thing. Freaking Bad Ass.
Hellcat rounded that first right hand corner and immediately took that very next exit. You can see its brake lights at the end of the ramp as the officer flew by. Driver saw them blue lights go by and knew they just got away 😂
This guy turned a bend or two and exited with the lights off and was heading the other way about 45 seconds in haha, this trooper just going for a joyride
By the time that trooper Caviness got going, that Challenger was in another time zone. A governor limited to 130mph car isn't catching up to a 160+mph car unless the driver puts it in the weeds.
@@jeffro582 i do when they do a knee jerk pull over. ..but after theyve been hovering my bumper long enough to get the plate. I just take the L. Ive dusted them so hard before. So fun.
The smile on that guys face had to have been huge watching that cop go over the overpass while he was off on the exit ramp lol. Was definitely him braking hard at around the 3:00
you still cannot prove anything, you can report as stolen and say that someone took your car. no face no case period as soon as you turn off your phone and any gps device
You people ever think that maybe just maybe, that car might be stolen? Ya sure they can show up at the address the car is registered to, only to find a very upset man. He's pissed cause they stole his Charger, I know criminals are stupid, but c'mon they can't be that stupid as to go their house, IF that is actually his car. 🍻☮️🇨🇦
The cop was following him for quite awhile, so I'm sure the driver of the Hellcat was well aware that the cop was running the plate, so that's what leads me to believe the car is stolen, nobody is that stupid...... Are they?? 🍻☮️🇨🇦
What the heck is he chasing ? The hell cat is gone. High speed driving at night and thinking the challenger is still out there. Not smart there trooper
Trooper risks his life and countless others because of a hurt ego .I hope there is an investigation as to why he stayed at such a dangerous speed needlessly for so long .
@@bannedtwice7767 sure… Of course, the person committing a felony is wrong. However, once you have enough evidence, i.e. license plate number, there’s enough to investigate there without putting people in harms way. The criminal is already committing a criminal act, do we have to put the public in danger when there’s enough information available to catch him later.
@@bannedtwice7767 Is that police officer gonna rationalize with himself after he slams into a 75 year old lady driving home from bingo night? The guy's gone at this point you can't even see him on the radar.
Legend has it this trooper continued all the way to the North Pole and out of pure shame of not being able to catch the Challenger Hellcat, he now works for Santa Claus as an elf.
the legend contradicts the gps data, which suggests they were headed for florida. i'm guessing he is hiding out at mar a lago in a secure storage area.
@@billmcgahey1926 Oops, didn't quite catch that. I feel lie a fool now. But you're right, if he was headed towards Florida, more than likely he turned in his badge out of pure shame and now works at Disneyworld in Orlando selling corndogs. Hahahahahahaha!!!
Only reason to continue on is to make sure you don't come across an accident scene caused by the perp. But I think this guy kept going on at 130 in an attempt to cope with defeat at the hands of boost.
There was one in LA a few years ago and the cops just gave up. This was after all the cop cars were just left in it's dust. They asked the only chopper in the area reporting traffic to try to keep up and report it's position. But even with the helicopter maxing out it's air speed, the car just got further and further away. When the camera zoom was maxed, the car was just a red dot. Chopper had to return to home base to refuel.
99% of the time they dont go to the ppls houses lol no face no case.... most DAs wont even prosecute these cases SPECIALLY with a video like this with no face and possible stolen tags...wont even match the car to the right house if the tags r stolen or made up bro lolol
@@sirren8808 Thats 100% Bullshit I've seen the Video where they GO to the Home of the Owner of the registered Vehicle and START whats called a Investigation(Duh) before any Arrest is made...use your brain....
Even if they did, he was in pursuit of a High Speed Vehicle on the highway, other cars can look into those off ramps, and until he got a "we got him" the vehicle was still on the highway doing 140-160mph. And that is a pursuit car, he blew past the regular cop car 2min in, he is the guy chasing him down anyways.
@@zalcan3620 the Charger is the suspect doing 140 -160, his car was not Limited, (it's 130 btw) and he was not slowing down after losing the cops.. He still had to worry about a copter/plane catching him.
@@streamofconsciousness5826 No he wasn't he got off at the first exit LOL you can see him braking no amount of copters they call in is going to help they will be looking in the wrong area 50+ miles away Lol
