Twas a sleepy Saturday morning when Myself and Azz decided to do some recon on some nearby Mackay camping and 4 wheeling spots. We decided we'd do a few of these and this first one being Mia Mia State Forest.
Situated approx. 60 odd kilometers west of Mackay and just south of the famous Pinacle Hotel is where we gained access to the forest. We discovered some brilliant camping spots along the river which is known to locals as "Captains Crossing."
We pushed on up the road and eventually crossed into Crediton State Forest. This is where we found even better remote and secluded spots to spend a couple of nights. We are going to make a plan in the cooler months to get back up there. We would also like to see if we are able to trek our way all the way thru to Eungella Dam. There's seems to be some discrepancies in weather or not and land owner or lease holder has gated the road off restricting access. We will find out next time we are there. until then Enjoy this video, we didn't tackle any of the 4x4 tracks as it was quite wet but even a nice forest drive can turn a bit sketchy after a storm and heavy rain sets in.
