My name is Tim. My partner Michelle and I came up with a plan a couple of years ago. After many adventures and enjoying the outdoors thoroughly we decided to set in place a plan to change our lives significantly and live a life of adventurizing full time. After almost 6 months of procrastination about vehicle and caravan vs trailer vs RV. We decided a camper trailer based on being able to reach more remote places easily. September 24, 2022 was the date our plan was executed. We set off. Living a life on the road in Australia. There are alot of people doing the same. However... this is Australia our way and our style. It's not a "lap" it's more like wherever the wind blows us. Carrying on from recording our adventures in previous years we will continue to do the same here. Hope you enjoy and thanks for tuning in.
Hey mate great update on the trailer. Good to hear those rings work in the gas cooker. I remember when you first got them i mentioned to do a follow up we will look them up. Now you have the bigger fridge jn do you reckon you would add a 2kva genny for when you get a longer run of not much sun? Look forward to the next vid
@@wayneanderson419 G'day mate. Thanks for watching. Yeah can confirm those rings are great. Not sure about a genny. I've always been open to it. The 350ah lithium should last 7 days minimum in warmer weather. If we find ourselves needing some power we may just steer towards a powered site. We are also going to upgrade the agms in the car to lithium so we may even end up with 300ah in it depending on battery dimensions. But where looking into that soon.
Great vidio but national parks killed the real hill end yes its a nice place to look at but having a npw police telling you were to go and wat to see and were you can walk and were to fossick
Yeah. I understand both sides. Because there is residents there. I'm sure they could have formed an organisation to oversee things of that nature. I guess with national parks involved there is a level of financial backing and protection. Like alot of places, imagine once huge crowds of people go there and dig up the place and ruin it for everyone. It's a fine line to walk along. But yeah it's a great place.
Yo timbo . Ive just got a new mattress for the van and its way better than my old clark rubber mattress. I got the new one from ikea and it was half the price .
G'day mate...regarding the solar panel not putting big amps?? If the batteries are nearly full it will only read / put out what it needs...hope that makes sense? If the batteries are low the regulator will let it pump in 10 or 12 amps pending size of solar panels?
@@Darioros326 ahh right. Yeah I follow what ya saying. But yeah I've not had much luck out of them panels at all, they used to keep up no problem and when the sun set the trailer was usually at 100% on a good day. I think gradually they go bad. The redarc one on the roof of the new rig pumps pretty well. So not sure if it's just quality etc. But I'm pretty over them. But just keep forgetting about them as we have a tonne of power for our needs in the trailer
G'day Tim To stop water running down the flexi-poles on your tent role on a couple of snug fitting O-rings. Keep a few spares, they don't last forever in sunlight. Love your work. Cheers.
Thanks for the update on the gear Tim, I never thought of the water flowing down the windows poles into the holes, so good idea about the rope/ribbon idea, will have to keep that in mind for our roof top. Also I went back through your videos and found the one about the new rig and what happened to the old Luxy, and realised i was away that week hence why I missed the video that week. 😅 ha ha Stay safe out there. 🤙
I'm not sure you would be happy with an air mattress, they tend to go down during the night. Have you thought about Makin Mattresses? Not used them myself but have heard good reports from others who have had ones made for their vans. They can make any size, thickness, style inc pillow top etc. Might be worth a look. Enjoying your videos.
@@paulsgarage3169 thanks mate. I might enquire before we make any solid decisions. I feel like our only option is the high density foam as it's 75mm thick. We can pack it up with all our bedding in it at this thickness. Any thicker than that it will put too much stress on the hinges when folding it away. I like the idea of the self inflating ones. I understand they may go down during the night. My early enquiries one a few products though have ensured me they won't. Drifta actually make the perfect size ones. We'll get two so we can choose how hard or soft they are. That's where we are at with it. But havn't made a decision just yet. It's an important part of the rig... maybe one of the most important parts.
@@TimRumble I didn't know the mattress had to fold with the setup you have. That does make it a bit more difficult. You could always try an "egg Carton" foam underlay under or on top of your existing foam mattress. Problem is you don't want to be spending money on things that might not work. I'll be interested in seeing which way you go. Happy travels.
@@paulsgarage3169 yeah the tent folds in half. It's quite large inside. But we are large folks. 2300mm x 2150mm. So yeah Drifta self inflating x2 is at the top of the list currently.
Beautiful site you guys managed to get on the vid . I imagine it gets very busy on that river with boating during the holidays . You guys have a great weekend see you next week Ching Ching
haha, I questioned them on the boat about that. I didn't think it could be the ONLY one left. But anyway. Thanks for drawing our attention to that. we'll be going down to Goolwa at some stage and will have to go for a ride on the PS Oscar W.
I think I mentioned it in a previous video. But yeah she's gone to a new owner. I had a few rums one Friday evening and thought bugger it I'll see what I can get for it... Boom. Sold next morning. was a bit sad.
Love catching and definitely love eating trout. we hot smoke ours whole some people complain there too bone and taste yuk but we think there amazing eating
Cold plunge good for the blood flow but crazy. I’m with Michelle. Congrats on the trout. Yummy! Fancy! We had the best smoked trout on Bruny Island in Tassie. Added this spot to our list. What a great festival to go to. Looking forward to your take on it. 🥃
Lived in Hill End as teen, woke one morning with a cow sticking its head through my window. When I attended the public school there were 26 kids in the school
@TimRumble We moved there from the Central Coast when I was in yr 5 or 6 and I'll never forget the day I saw my old class and teachers come stolling down the road on an excursion to Hill End of all places lol. Yeah some good memories but the dreaded bus trip every morning to Mudgee high school was ridiculous lol
That golden gully place is kind of fascinating. You don't realise unless you scamper up the cliffs but there are little tunnels cutting through from one gully to the other up there. Also If you ever make it back there, head out to History Hill. The guy who made the mine in town and then had it taken from him by the national parks trust, built one bigger and better just out of town. He also has the most incredible collection of gold mining memorabilia
Yeah right. We'll get back there I reckon someday. We did go out and see ol mates collection. It's very extensive. Luckily we allowed a full day there.
This is exactly how mine is set up same awning similar swing out shower tent soft top crazy dog tent but on a tinny trailer not a dot is a perfect set up
She’s pretty schmicko mate. Someone has thrown some serious coin at it before you got it. Great upgrade on the old girl. What has happened to the old one now?
Yeah they certainly have. I wasn't going to sell the ol luxy. But it would have ended up being a burden. So one night after a few rumbies. I whacked it up on Facebook marketplace and it didn't even last 24 hours and it was sold. Was a tad sad. May have shed a tear.
