It is so sad, I have a 96 F350 7.3 and the bushings look pretty darn good still. I plan to replace a couple in the front end with polyurethane. They didn't expect it to last that long. They thought for sure the VVT cam phasers would fail and the engine would be ruined, so that fixing the engine to the tune of about $6000-7000 would make you forget the crappy bushings. Then they just deny everything, oh excuse me their lawyers deny everything! ...and then your vehicle isn't worth anything.

@@mikesamra9126 Salt has nothing to do with it. We have no salt on the roads here, and it rarely snows. The stiff yellow foam that they started using in place of rubber to make cab bushings is the problem. Car makers have used it for decades for bumpstops. It actually works better than rubber for around 8-10 years. After that it completely falls apart. Rubber has a much longer life, but will fail eventually.

I'd like to add the tip of: I've had GREAT success with many vehicles with over 100K miles, add some used carpet FOAM sheeting under the driver's seat foam core. It REALLY boosts firms up the seat like new. Our body weight on the seat foam really wears it down but a few sheets of carpet foam fixes it unfortunately the seat has to be unbolted and the edge fabric clips removed to access under the factory foam core where you can place the carpet padding. The good news is once your done, it's good to go for many years. You can do the passenger seat as well if it seem seems to need it. Also add some small strips to the seat edge area-where you get in and out of can need a bit more support. The carpet padding is also more resistant to being cut by the spring deck it sits on then the factory foam core sitting on it. Take care

Ford started using those yellow foam cab bushings in 2005 on the superdutys, on the crew cab trucks 4 are rubber and 4 are yellow foam. The aftermarket polyurethane bushings suck, they will start squeaking after a about 10k miles no matter if you put grease on them or teflon spray The ford bushings are outrageously expensive, about $750 from ford to do a crew cab truck but worth it, its usually the drivers rear that fails on the 2005-2007 trucks, when it does give out completely it will start squeaking or banging over bumps and railroad tracks

On the Fords if you have 2 programed keys you can easily program a 3rd and 4th by starting the car with the 1st key then the 2nd then they new key and it is now programed. Nice Job, and a big improvement Stephen!. I owned a F550 dump body and I definitely bought it twice....Did I get a Lemon? maybe. Did I get a Ford? ..for sure, and I can tell you I never will again. The bigger issue is that owners shouldn't have to do these things in the first place. These are engineering and materials issues that should be addressed at the design level, not left to the owners to bear the cost and headache of fixing. I "bulletproofed" my 2004 and it was a great solution, but also a very big cost. Did it work? absolutely. Should that 6L ever been put into production with such a serious design flaw? absolutely not. As a business, Making the cheapest product is not always the best idea. It does keep a lot of us employed in the repair business though, many exclusively working on ford trucks. I think that says it all.

As someone who works at a place that manufactures "certain" suspensions parts for this truck (all f150-350 you see on the road for the last 20+ years) allegedly a squeak is the most common warranty issue. Ford has tried everything from a dry wax to a very viscous wet wax on bushings up until model year 2019. 2019 and beyond they are glued on with a chemical. Basically you'll be replacing said suspension part when the bushing goes out. Unless you have time and patience with a torch!! And OMG don't ruin the powder coat!! This also goes for the new Ranger Double edit: Also the Raptor

I've seen the same thing from some of the SUPPOSEDLY reputable companies that say their bushings will last for years... yeah... maybe dog years.... What I've started doing is use the Ford ones BUT cover them with Ford red-moly axle grease. If you re-grease every year It keeps the rubber from crystallizing and the bushings survive. I've only ever changed the bushings once in any of them * IF * the customer listens to me and keeps them greased yearly.... they MAY still get crushed over time but it apparently takes so long I wouldn't know.... haven't seen one come back in yet. And I started to grease them back in 2011 when customers first started coming to me with them and I saw how brittle they were. And fyi the bolts come out fairly easy if you take the weight off them and use pb blaster straw and spray it between the mounts and the body then drive around for a few bumpy miles (easy here because paved roads aren't really a thing unless in town)

2008 f250 superduty 130,000 miles but im sure they had to be gone when i bought the truck at 88,000 miles and people complain about the gas engine 5.4 in general, with the cam phaser ticking issue that ford denies happens, mine didnt rear its head until i changed the oil the first time, tells me that they had an additive in it,went back to the dealer and their ''head mechanic'' listened to it and tried to tell me it was injector noise and totally normal, luckily im capable of doing the replacements for that and knock on wooden heads of ford engineers 139,000 miles going strong,i wont even start on the caliper issues

Every manufacture has issues. Drive what you like and fix what you have to fix. Besides, if that truck wasn’t broke, you’d have no cash in hand.

No, it is already on the threads from the factory

@@007.3l Lock tight isn't reusable though? I always thought you had to re-apply it?

Make you an adapter for a harbor freight pipe threader with a 1/2 drive 12 inch ext.. constant pressure by the pipe threader will bring them right on out.. especially if you do these often.. no worries about threadlocker... it will break them loose easy.. slow but effective..

Do you have a link for the LED lights in your garage? The ones on the ceiling. Good videos...

71203 Eaton Fuller Transmission Lubricant 8 Oz. For bushings works good

None of my 8 cab mounts would come out with an impact as it would rattle the captured nut up top around in it's mount. Wrenching them all out seemed impossible as they were so hard to turn I thought each one would break. It was a terrible job.

The problem is actually common on any of the Fords that they call "Super Duty". Just had same problem fixed on a 2006 550 with 140k miles

Problem is that surface of bushing is slick so greasy fall of due time. Take a checkering file from your local gunsmith and make some chekering on internal and external surface of your bushing. It make a surface harsh and keep grease inside of bush so greasin last longer
