You can get yours here amzn.to/3zMzUuP on Amazon. I do make a small commission when you order one. I am not being paid by the company. But this Tool is a must have.
@ryanprater6398 no idea. As soon as I did this video they basically sold out that day. Every few days they get some in. You just have to keep an eye on it. They went quick
I’m not one for regulation but personally, I feel the federal government needs to force manufacturers to make all this stuff available for consumers anyway. Think John Deere and “right to repair”. Just think if you have a Mercedes or bmw and have to tell the car you replaced the battery so it doesn’t ruin your new battery.
Nice review. I have been needing this to verify some issues on my 6.0 diesel. My Ford dealer could not tell me which injector it was based on the power balance. ??? I hope this will help me. I seen you and the other guys talking about it with A-Rod the other night. I just purchased this great video.
I have a 2005 ford f250 5.4 and I installed a brand new throttle body and my engine is running rough and I can’t go forward or reverse. I checked scan tool and it’s showing a Iac circuit fault. This truck is not equipped with an Iac. I checked forums and they said my truck needs ford updated software so it can relearn and I should be good to go. Can this device do that?
@anthonyfisher4874 yes. Iac is built onto the throttle body on the 5.4 if I'm not mistaken. Last time I had one do that it had a bad pcm. It was a pita pinpoint test. All it would do.is run. Wouldn't move forward or back. Would take programming. Installed a new pcm. Good to go. But yes this scan tool will reprogram the pcm. But I've never heard of updated software to relearn. For a relearn you clear codes and reset KAM which resets all learned values.
I know most people don't use laptops and cables like we do, but is there anything that tool can do that FORScan cannot do, or would it do anything better?
How long does the subscription last? Can't be infinite updates? You said you can do forscan operations? Can you enable Bambi Mode? High beams and low on same time?
There is no subscriptions. It's all free software. I haven't been into a new model yet. So I don't know about Bambi mode. Other than that. Does everything forescsn and fdrs and ids does ao far that I've seen
I have a 2018 F350 6.7. I don't have those options for the transmission solenoid body or transmission characterization.... how did you get that on your reader ?
So I got mine in the mail today. I don't have the manual regeneration option under special functions for my 2021 F-150 3.0 Powerstroke. I do have “DPF Diesel Particulate Filter) Regeneration.” Is it the same?
Damn this looks way better than a cheapy Bluetooth one, I just got a 98 Mercury Grand Marquis, nothing wrong with it but I'm curious about the transmission, I'd be afraid to click on any of that special functions shit though
Anthony hi will this work on a 97 escort and a 03 focus? also I have a PO446 will this acuate my vent solenoid on and off for me I need to test this and my fuel tank pressure sensor im not sure witch one it is that is causing the engine light
Can you ad Ford's functionality to this scanner? Or will you need another one for ford? If it is so why not go ahead and just get a multi brand scan tool like the ones at the dealers, I know dealers got the good ones and pay for that functionality, but i don't want to have 3-4 scan tools around my garage for different cars!
I have to replace my ABS HCU on my 2014 f150 XLT. Will this unit program the new module from dealer with the info from the old module? thanks for any help. great videos !
Yes it will program. As long as you are connected to the internet. Go to module programming. Module installation. Abs. Follow the directions on screen. Then your going to have to do an abs brake bleed after you install it.
I do. And this is like using a tablet style. Not like forescsn. This does some things forescan doesn't. And forescsn does things this doesn't. Indo use this for quick stuff and it comes in very handy.
@gharr5261 yes. This one doesn't. But I'll recommend not to turn it off. Go watch my 10k mile oil change video. We did a used oil analysis. Good info. Then you can decide if you want to turn it off.yoare you driving a 6.7? And it has start stop? Shoot me an email after you watch the video
I went and bought one based on this video! I need my battery monitoring reset, adaptive transmission stopped, and need to troubleshoot my cooled seats intermittently working
@brentneahring2797 you can reset the battery without the scan tool (if it's not a 6.7 powerstroke) by turning the key on. Flash the high beams 5 times. Step on the brake 3 times. The battery light will flash after aboutn10 seconds indicating it's reset. It will stop adaptive learn and help troubleshoot the seats!
@@BeardedFordTech I did try the high beam/brake pedal press method which I got from a ford boss me video and I do have a 2015 taurus sho and I never seem to get the battery light to display. I've been finding out with this car that hard resets with a scan tool tend to be more effective. The reason I'm trying to disable the transmission adaptive learning is that I've reset the KAM with an SCTx4 device and itll drive good but once I turn the ignition off and back on itll be like it's still in learn mode. A buddy of mine has a 2013 f 150 and had a similar issue and had the adaptive disabled and it did smooth out his 6r80 and it's still running good. For the climate seat module I did have the infamous burnt ground pin and spliced in a new wire pigtail and split it into a double ground. I'm thinking I got module fault codes leading to either intermittent or no operation even with the touchscreen buttons illuminated. I do own a bluedriver but its capabilities aren't as in depth as the Launch Creader
All the features are free for a year right? It doesn’t matter if you go to the mall or not? I just did a PMI on a SCCM today but I was looking more at the tool and it’s wanting 34$ and come change for the ABS bleed
No. There is no subscription at all for this Tool. It's entirely free. All of it. There is no credit card info to put in. All updates are free. So I don't know what your talking about that costs $34. Other aftermarket tools you have to buy a subscription but not this one.
@@BeardedFordTech cool! That’s what I was thinking, just figured I would ask before I wasted my money on the stuff in the mall haha! Preciate ya!! This tool is bad to the bone!
Can you enter and exit brake maintenance mode with it? I would like to change my brake pads, but my truck won't go into brake maintenance mode manually
What year is your truck? I did a video how to do brake maintenance mode. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZN60olwmWCU.htmlsi=Z3Xff2KKePi0aY_- but yes this Tool will do brake service mode. Under service functions
@@BeardedFordTech It is a 2021. Thanks for the video. These steps do not work for my truck. Once I hear back from the dealer/Ford programming engineers, I'll provide an update. Thanks again, for the prompt response and videos. I ordered the device with your link.
@roypacheco6122 your very welcome. Weird that your truck won't do it. I've never seen one not do it. This procedure is all the way to 2024. Please keep me updated on what they say.
I’m guessing PCM is dealer only isn’t it? Been studying the whole oil consumption issue with coyote engines and one of the fixes I’ve read is a PCM update that doesn’t let the throttle body close as far to cut back the amount of vacuum. Any thoughts on that actually causing oil consumption?
It does cause oil consumption. And when we reprogrammed them it did help a little bit and cut down on it. This scan tool will allow you to reprogram the pcm. As long as your connected to the internet. I did an abs module the other day
@@BeardedFordTech Thank you very much! I’m going to buy one. Does it guide you to Ford’s PCM programming to help with the consumption? I greatly appreciate your advice. I just commented on another of your videos about two other problems with the truck. Thank you so much!!!
I don't have a hybrid car. Are you talking about the underwood battery or the high voltage battery? Cause if it's the high voltage battery you have to literally replace it to change it.
Great content man, I've been slowly educating myself watching your videos. I was wondering if I could get your input on something. I just traded my 19 mustang gt on a 24 with the performance pack. Initially upon driving it home I noticed I had to hold the wheel left of center to go straight. I also noticed it pulled to the right under moderate acceleration and even more so when rolling at highway speeds if i hit the gas. I brought it in to the dealer with 150 MI on it and they diagnosed it as being out of alingment, adjusted the front end alingment and said that should fix the problem. They showed me the print off and it was all in spc. I drove it home and noticed the wheel is still requiring a slight left hold even on level surfaces and it still pulls to the right under acceleration. Could this be a larger issue than a simple front end allingment?? Could this be a differential problem?? Could the irs be out of line with the subframe? I've only ever felt a pull under acceleration like this on a car that was in a bad accident years ago and that's not the case here. I'm just wondering if I need to suggest anything as I'm kind of losing faith in my local service dept. Thanks man. I totally appreciate your help. 🙂
When you say they did an alignment. Did they actually do one? Or did they just do a "toe and go" meaning they only adjusted toe. Did they adjust it using WIN Toe? Did they use a steering wheel holder to keep it centered? Does the top of the alignment printout say "modified specs"? Which means they went in and changed the factory specs to a different number to put everything "in spec" and not actually align it. Assuming they did everything correctly does it do those symptoms on all roads? On a three lane road does it do it in the center lane? Left lane? All lanes? Reason I ask that is I'm trying to narrow out the crown of the road (for water to run off). Does it have lane departure warning? Was everything reset after they performed the alignment? Do you have a picture of the printout you can email me? I know it's a lot of questions. I'm just trying to narrow things down so I can help you accordingly. Rear diff won't have anything to do with it. But it is an independent suspension. So to correctly align the front. The rear has to be adjusted too. So it would need an all wheel alignment. Not just a front.
@@BeardedFordTech so it does this on all roads, right left and center lanes with the water run off angle having no effect. They did not provide me with the spc sheet, just showed it to me, but I will stop in this morning and ask for a copy so I can email it to you. I will also ask these questions you posed. Do you have an email I can send it to?? Thanks bro.
@@BeardedFordTech oh, and they never said anything about re setting lane keep assist (which it does have) they just showed me the print out and basically said " see everything is green now so you have nothing to worry about".
@santodegennaro7620 ask to watch them do the alignment. And my email is in about me. Sometimes when I listen it it gets taken down cause youtube thinks it's spam
I need to figure out the headlight system malfunction. There is additional software required to purchase to diagnose Toyota Camry headlight malfunction. I do not see any basis functions for headlights. The dashboard says to take it to a Toyota dealer. All my lights work just fine. Not sure what the malfunction code is.
Had the same.issue with a ford ecosport. They worked fine. But the module (inside the car) kept losing communication. It was internally shorted. They make this scan tool for Toyota as well.
@@BeardedFordTech need to purchase additional diagnostic software for headlight systems??? I see that software is available in the store app on the diagnostic device
@@BeardedFordTech I’m not seeing any headlight diagnostics on this device so I assume additional software purchase is needed for these special Toyota malfunctions. Unless you can tell me something I am missing
@shanec4441 are you using this scan tool for Toyota? I don't work on Toyota. Usually the headlights are is theough the body control module. All the software on there is free. If your using this tool. There is no subscription or other software to buy. Go into programmable parameters and see if it's in there. Other than that you would have to ask a Toyota person. I do know it won't just diagnose a headlight. You have to run a health report and see if a code pops up. Then go to that module. Programmable parameters. It may also be the instrument panel that needs to be flashed as well.
@J_J_Ander use the USB cord in the pack and plug it into a wall. This will turn it on. Connect to your wifi. Go to upgrade and let it update. It will register the serial number. That's it. Setup complete. When you plug it into the vehicle the obd port gives it power. Make sure your connected to wifi son you get all the functions otherwise you will only be able to read codes. The booklet has a quick start guide too. Let me know how it goes.
@testos2701 oil you do theough the dash on ford if it has oil life reset. Tires you need the programmer (looks Ike a garage door opener) after you put it in tpms training mode which is done with key cycle and brake. You don't need this tool to do those functions. You would be wasting your money
@@BeardedFordTech Thanks for that info. I would like one that does the resets within it, the garage door opener sells for 50 bucks, again ford just nickel and dime you if you let them, but I would use it for everything else such as code lookup and diagnostics too. On our Hondas it takes 2 minutes to reset everything, oil, TPMS, all done from the infotaintment very quick and nothing else to buy.
@@BeardedFordTech Yeah mine keeps going on and off. Can’t figure out what the issue is but has yet to go into limp mode. Thank you I’ll probably buy one with your link. 🙏
@cgonedfishing reconnect? As in has a blue or black screen? No they means camera is bad. If you put a new one in and are trying to connect it to th LIN network on a older model yes or connect to image processing module yes. But they don't just become disconnected and you just "reconnect" them. There's a problem that needs to be figured out
@@BeardedFordTech ya, according to a local dealer they put a new one in but it does not look new. The screen works it just states camera not available, I thought I read somewhere the dealer can re-establish the communication connection. will try to pull the exact message or see if for-scan has an code
They are doing a pre black Friday sale November 17. So it will go down then. May be sold out by then. It's been $119 for sometime now. I don't know if they will raise it.
