Ford Superduty rain water leak FIXED! Passengers floor board leak? No drilling!

Ford F-250 Superduty Water in blower motor/heater box FIXED!
After this video I put an adhesive/silicone that is weatherproof rated under these clips and under the access cover that is supposed to stick to the sheet metal cowl (square painted piece in video). Later that night it rained for several hours. The next day, I removed the blower motor to inspect and no more water and no more dripping down the inside passengers side floor board.
This is a much better alternative to drilling a hole in the bottom of the box in my opinion. I'm guessing this is going to be the same in most F250, F350, F450, F550, etc body styles. Worth a check at least if you have a similar leak or just an older truck.

Thank you so much. My 1999 F250 super duty XLT with the 7.3 diesel and air conditioning was leaking water in the passenger side of the cab and this was the same problem!!! Thank you. You will notice that the clip above the intake is also situated in a “valley” of the body of the truck to the water is channeled right to the base of the clip. Problem solved and fixed thanks to this video!!!!

I'm in the midst of troubleshooting a windshield leak and further diagnosing what I believe may be the GEM module. I have been having water accumulations on the driver side mat and numerous dome light, alarm system, cargo lights, radio on, abs light, etc. issues. I hope to not have to remove the windshield and find this an easier less costly fix. Thanks for the insight and idea to check this first. Fingers crossed.

Thanks so much for posting. I have a 2003 F250. I replaced the 3 clips on the passenger side. I purchased the clips and new tree clips from Ford for $23. I was surprised at how thin the washer is on the clip! I Renewed the weather stripping and even got new wiper arms and blades. Good as new!

I believe this totally worked. After a rain storm, there was no water in the passenger floorboard. I used Lexel clear caulk around the plastic clips and rectangular access panel. Be sure to push the Lexel beneath the plastic with your finger.

Craig... spot on mate, bottom of heater box was full of water. I bought my 1999 F250SD ~2yrs ago and no signs of water leakage then. After the recent atmospheric river rains on the west coast the carpet was saturated along the passenger door sill. At first, I thought it may be the roof seams that were showing some signs of cracking (will be re-bedding those too). I think the leak into the heater box was also helped by some leaf matter that build up just below the offending plastic fitting causing water to flow over the fitting and fill the heater box with water. My guess is that if I had not parked under the tree that filled the sill with leaf crud, it may have not leaked enough to show. Appreciate the post.

I've got a 2001 F350 5.4 rwd with a leak coming into the cab, don't know where it's coming from but this video is very informative, hopefully I'll find it. Thanks for the heads up!

I recently purchased an RV, platinum III coach house on a 2002 ford 450 chasis. It's similar to the 250 but the engine is set back into the cab like a van. I have the same problem. I'm not sure if this is the issue but I'm thankful for your video to give me a starting point to search for this annoying leak on the passenger side.

Thanks Craig, I've got a 2000 F-350 7.3l diesel that has been doing the same thing for 4yrs. I had my truck painted in 2017 and the guy told me that same thing, that its probably coming in around the 3rd brake light or maybe the windshield. I'm going to check under the wiper cowl to see if I have the same issue as you, most likely I do. Thanks again and I'll let you know if it was also my issue. Jay.

Did you end up using rtv? I ask cause I've got a '10 f-150 with a leak that (I think) is coming in from around the rear roof moulding strip. Right where the rivet is. And I'm thinking of using some rtv there.

@@dm7097 Yup, I had some black rtv. I applied a very small bead around the clip and reclipped it in, no more leaks.

I found out my leak was coming from my sunroof. I think the gasket just shrunk over time
