Ford Transit Camper Van - VanDOit Saves the Day After a Van Build Goes Wrong 

This video is a god send. All these van build videos make it seem like anyone can do it. You never see this type of information on the potential outcome of DIY and/or hiring the wrong people to work on it. I don’t want any of these problems. Therefore, I will not attempt this at home.

What I really like is that during the whole 20 minute interview the owner didn't laugh at all, not even once, but he was driving away smiling at the end.

so glad you took time to post this. the education for the many many of us wanting vanlife to work is really important and this is so appreciated. My god that is a serious holy hot mess. I'm so glad we traded in our motor home and are now waiting for our Vandoit. What a massively badass decision!

Labor of love - That's the feeling you get from problem-solving and Making stuff. Be it a van build or otherwise. It is human nature to optimize your project - that's why your 10 friends are always thinking of the build. Like I have found in my build (2 years in - slept in it a total of 11 months) there is 'no f'n way" you can get it right the first time because as you live in it you feel you want to change shit - a self-built van facilitates the change you wish to make. I wouldn't do it any other way - as usual - your mileage may vary.

I heard you say something that you can finance the build or purchase a van ? If so can I be insured as an rv ?
