FORD TRANSIT CUSTOM, Wont Start, Cut out, Hill Start Warning, Engine Service How To Fix/Repair 

Not even in the Ford dealership shop knew what it was, after replacing all relays, reprogramming computer and few visits to the mechanics I saw this video and fixed it myself. My problem was fuel pump relay was not activating sometimes and others all lights blinking on dash and no crank after it was shut off . thank you! 2015 FORD TRANSIT 350 HD GASOLINE

Freaking simple solution!!! Has this issue on 2,5 y.o. van, only 50.000km. Local dutch dealer's advice (not for free) was to change a battery. Did it 2 times! And today after it left me on the road i found your advice. U R da MAN! Huge Thanks!!!

I've had an intermittent problem with my van for the last 3 years been to at least 5 garages none could find a fault but after watching this video I've managed to fix it myself thanks to you! Thank you very much

In my case this did not solve it but thankyou for the video all the same. Always good to have people's knowledge of niche issues. For those it doesn't work for. Inspect fuse F14. Box located bottom left of steering wheel on UK models. Behind removable panel. This is marked 5a tracking and blocking control module. After a day tarting about I found this to be the issue. If you have message saying brake assist not working and engine service now. And wont start. All good now.

I'm going to have a go at this on the weekend. Got a good nick 14 plate recently. Engine runs pretty sweet when it gets going, last few mornings have been very cold and when I go to start it turns over and starts firing but it can take up to 10 seconds to fire on all cylinders. I have the hill start assist message coming up too since its gotten cold. Another strange thing I noticed is a long 5 minute or so beep after the engine is turned off, accompanied briefly, by a ticking/clicking noise for a few seconds. Anyway, your advice seems to have worked for many commenters so I'll give that a crack! Cleaning an earth up couldn't be easier let's be honest!! I might even enjoy it!

Got same issue on my Ford Transit Connect 2015... But I did change an old battery. Fixed same error notification thanks to your video, in my case it was bad contact on the negative pole of the battery. I did not managed to fasten it tight enough. Just for those who are not aware, it is not easy to take battery out again :) as it requires to remove air intake to pull the battery...

I have a Ford Transit Custom 16 plate, showing the no hill assist, pilot brake malfunction, ebs, traction control, and the occasional high temp light. Should i check the earths?

Any idea on this? 2014 2.2l custom 139k - lumpy start on first cold crank then it’s fine, for the rest of the day! Changed 4 glow plugs! (Still the same) But also has an intermittent “engine malfunction and hill start failure pop up. Goes into limp mode turn off turn back on and it’s gone away. But also has a diesel kick between 1500-2200rpm whilst under load and off boost. Was told the injectors had gone so changed all 4. Slight improvement but still knocking. It does quieten down once the engine is warm but it’s still there. Really stuck and 3 garages are stumped!

Got a 66 plate custom starts and runs fine but a couple time when its been driven then left for half an hour or so it wont start, turns over fine fuel to the high pressure pump, but wont start, once it eventually starts it runs fine. Happened a wee while ago and i noticed that the outside temp was showing - 40 just driven 10miles and its crept up to 8degrees

Worked for me a couple of times but now it's come back on a more permanent basis. Tried as many earth points under the bonnet as I can find and disconnected and reconnected as many connectors as I can get to but no joy. Van hasn't moved in a week till the auto electrician place can get it in. Mechanic thinking it's an ecu issue. Some of evidence on forums that it's a nightmare to diagnose to the point customers with warranty have had replacement vans. Unfortunately mine is not under warranty

Check your air filter sometimes water gets in it and the air filter falls apart gets sucked into the throttlebody that just happened to me today

hello....while i was driving in third gear 3,500 revs the car cut off by itself and gave me revs and then this indicator appeared and it said engine service now...i pull over i turn it off i look at oil water everything ok i just put it back on in front of me, this indicator had gone out... what could it be? answer me please, I've been to a lot of garages and I can't figure it out...

do you think this would help my 66 plate transit, the Hillstart jams on and breaks lock up, i now turn off the hill start every time i start the van and the problem has went, but its a pain if i forget to turn off as i have to wait about 3hrs before the breaks ease up.

Is there any other common faults to this had this problem since a flat battery but doesnt seam to be the ground points engine service now ignition lights when crank it goes flat

I seriously regret ever purchasing my ex R.A.C. Ford transit van , they ripped out their tech and left it with numerous electrical problems - sometimes things will function - sometimes not !! Altogether the worst vehicle I've ever had , huh , even compared to the old Renault 4 which was unexciting to say the least ha ha , at least that old rotbox never left me stranded!!!

Hi having a really bad time with my custom. Long story short had engine rebuild done since come back soon as touch accelerator it goes into limp home mode. Have pluged it in and get p228c fault code. Have changed fuel rail pressure regulator injectors high pressure fuel pump still same i need help.

I’ve got a Ford transit custom went to start it it was running for a little while and started to splatter then just died out try to start it again but didn’t want to start kept coming up saying break system fail And had some glitching coming up on the dashboard but I do remember when I shut the engine off it shuts off slowly instead of suddenly any chance can you help me with this problem

I got an issue custom 2014. Hazards always on. All gauges dont work. No interior lights. No locks. Wont startup or will start for 2 secs & die. Radio working. Gauge leds working. Windows working. But all else doesnt & only way to turn off hazards is disc battery. Was all fine til friday when i lost powrr steering & the van died while i was at 60 on motorway. Do you have any ideas please? Will try thus tomorrow too.

My auto stop start turns the van off at traffic lights but forces me to start it manually to start it back up. Any help/advice with this?

hi annton not sure if your post relates to mine but heres 1 for ya 63 plate transit done 30k getting more often than before but it wont rev over 2 and half thousand revs and the dash reads engine malfuction service ,switch the van off and it clears again but only for a couple miles ?any clues would help mate jim

Hello Aaanton 11,Great video,I have a 2014 connect,thats only covered 43,000 miles.its recently started to play up,previously message service due,into limp mode,fault code DPF,EGR,cleared ,into dealer,nothing conclusive ,now today,engine service message,engine turned over without starting,numerous fault codes found at Ford dealer,(was told it maybe broken wire earthing out, perhaps acommon wire,to other sensors),but,could this be the same problem as you demonstrate with this transit?,just poor earth connection?,your thoughts please thank you.

I have a similar issue. It says service now when I want to start, all lights turn on, the steering wheel vibrates, then it says breaking system alert, safety belt system alert, oil alert and blinks just like this.... after I try multiple times, it then simply starts with no issues and the car works just fine. then if I stop a few times, the cycle repeats itself.... should I do the same thing with "cleaning the ground cables"?

Hi could you help me, I'm having similar problems with mine it's a 14 plate. The abs traction lights is on, the engine light and the information light all on. It starts but doesn't go past 2/3 thousand revs, could this earth wire be the same thing? Thank you

I have had the same issue with the Larger Transit but the breaks also locked, did that happen here? Engine would not start and the same warning lights and messages!! Local ford dealer stumped!! I have two transits, both have hillstart issues, its doing my head in!!

Mine will come up with the hill start assist not working when I reverse on to the drive every now an then,but then when trying to start it the lights all come up as normal but won’t turn over,after an hour or so of leaving it it will start an run fine for a bit,could this be a lose earth??mechanics say it’s an electrical fault but can’t find anything,

It starts again as if nothing is wrong. Any idea will be appreciated. I have recently changed fuel hose and fuel filter and starter motor.

Hi guy my 15 plate had a new engine put in 6 months ago and now all of a sudden while drive on to the motorway full steam the engine goes into lump mode to not moving at all. Really scary this has happened three time. Any one know what's the issue and any advise how I go about dealing with ford. They should not get away with this I want to sue there ass.
