Ford Transit DPF Blocked Again A Few Days After Cleaned By A "Specialist"

With my Mazda BT50 having the same issue I was able to pull the sensor out of the vaporizer and give it a good clean with brake clean and a scotchbrite pad. For the vaporizer tube I used a 4mm drill bit to clear the blocked hole the diesel is sprayed out of and then cleaned out the rest of it with brake fluid and a stiff bit of wire to break up and remove the soot/carbon. I followed this with a DPF clean and so far, have not had the issue come back. Thanks to you, in the past I would have had no idea what was going but now have been able to fix it myself. If I was in the UK I would have just come to you but a bit far from OZ. It was not a cheap first time fix, the cleaning fluid (not Launch UK as I could not find someone who would ship it) was $155 shipped, the application gun was $250 shipped (and this was a cheap one) and another $600 for a cheap scan tool that would read and reset the codes. As I only drive short stop/go distances most weeks, I think it is highly likely I will see this again and I am now set up for future cleans, just need to buy the cleaning fluid 🙂 Thanks for the videos and keep the content coming. We have a Ford Courier (1.5l) that has endless problems with the DPF. It is regularly thrashed, and has had a DPF clean, but it can't be trusted to go for long without going into limp. Maybe it needs a ne vaporiser too. Can't wait to get rid of it and go to petrol.

My 1.6 ford cmax diesel had a blocked dpf the obd machine said ash overload,,had it chemicly cleaned at a cost of £350 8 weeks later same problem,the so called specialist told me the thermostat was at fault as engine was not able to get up to temperature to do a regen ,paid again to have the dpf cleaned,had a new thermostat fitted was pissed off so I sold the fuckin thing and got a petrol.

This is what scares me. I have too much soot in the DPF of my Ford CMax and, as I don't have a good scantool, or a Jimmy around here, I need to go to a "specialist" company, that works only on this type of problems. Cleaning will cost me around 500€, if nothing else is needed, but I fear that a proper job may not be done, even if they say they guarantee their work.

Replace the vaporiser and carry out a static regen. No need for a cleaner and no need to reset the dpf values. That shouldn’t be done unless you’ve replaced the dpf. It will cause excessive regens in the future. You need to better understand ash calculations.

After you put the DPF cleaner through it, how do you know you have cleaned it 100% so you can reset the values? Isn’t it going to confuse the system if it has only partially cleaned it. I hope that make sense

Is this 2.2 or the 2.0 eco blue? Does the vaporiser problem happen to both ? Don't think I've seen you do the 2.0 eco blue ? Cheers

Is it worth installing a new vaporiser on these vans at say 120,000 miles before it becomes and issue. It seems a very common problem.

Do you get many VW 1600 diesels in , my dpf is fine but I get egr flow insufficient detected and DPD efficiency below threshold bank 1 , is it a pig to get the egr out to clean ? Great vids
