Thank you for making this video. I just pulled out my old radio and put another ford radio in. Knowing where the screws and pressure clips were was valuable information.
Great work on the tear down on this. I was also hoping to see an aftermarket install too... maybe you have that on another video. 😆 I'll keep searching. Thanks! 👍
Having been in an IT hardware field tech since 1989 I’ve learned if anything ill can happen it will. That being stated. Suggestion: Where applicable, place inside if possible a drop cloth to prevent the screws from falling into dashboard oblivion. Accidents happen all the time. Do not rely solely on magnetism to save the day. Redundancy wins the day every day. :) pass it on!
Hi. Thanks for the previous. I'm trying to install an amp and two 6x9 speakers and a 12" woofer. I run the wiring, I need to tap into the stock radio. I am aware there is a wiring harness that will split into the existing stock plugs, allowing me a "Y" like wiring access for my L/R Front and Rear wirings to run to the amp for the extra speakers, etc. So, my question is is that extra port behind the radio where the wiring harness goes for my expanded speakers and amp? or if you've done this already, splice into the stock radio/wiring with the wiring hardness, can you link me to that video so I can review it as well. Thanks!
I would never make a video on the wire colors because that can always change. As soon as I have a customer bring me one with that radio and let me film the removal I will.
Thank you for your helpful video. Which wire comes from the ignition? I put the voltmeter on black and the to other wires but when I open the ignition there is no any voltage
Sir, Great video!! Just one quick question. When I go to put in the after market radio and harness, I cannot get the Power plug to hook into the new harness. I understand that the flasher/airbag plug goes into the new dash mount kit, but I don't get where the old radio power plug goes (the red female plug on the top part of the flasher...turns the factory radio on/off) ?
Please can you do a video on how to remove fuse boxes inside the vehicles of the latest model of transit custom, connect and Renault trafic. Would like to get access to the back of these to add some wiring etc. Can’t find any videos online for later models they seem really hard to access now inside the vehicles.
Can you help so I got same set up you are working on this video what kit do I need and what radio can I put in to have bigger screen not the little screen that it comes with please help thank you
Would disconnecting my radio and then plugging it back in fix my 2016 Bluetooth no connection issue? It was at the dealer two years ago for the same issue and they wrote "reset" was needed? I pulled the radio fuse but that did not work
Hi! I have Ford Transit -16 and I want to install some amplifiers. Is there any T-harness which give me Rca output ? Is there some name for that radio connector? Alpine have some "plug and play"-box (AH-AMPC-QUAD1). Would that box be solution for my problem? I don't want to cut any wires or stealing signal from speakers
Question Do you have a radio for the truck you worked on this video where I can plug my iPhone and my phone will reflect to the cars screen like my navigation etc?
At about 5:04 you talk about the airbag light. I had a stereo shop install a new aftermarket double din stereo receiver and now the airbag light is on. Is it your understanding that the new aftermarket stereo doesn’t need to be plugged into the airbag female plug? They have agreed to take it to the Ford dealership but I am concerned.
This video was so long ago that I do not remember. But in many cars if you turn on they key with an airbag light disconnected it will ligger an an airbag warning light in the cluster that must be reset with a tool.
Hi there I had myna double din radio installed by a radio or stereo shop a while back I say a year or so, when they installed my double din in my 2015 Passenger T350 van I picked it up and the air bag light was on, so i asked him why the air bag light was on and he said that I had to to take it to the dealer and get it reset, but I was going out of town and needed to leave right away, my question is if it's common for the air bag light to stay on when the new radio is installed and the factory radio is removed?? If not what do i need to look for?
I honestly don't know. I removed this radio and had no issues. But I haven't worked on enough of them to give you an accurate answer. Use a scan tool to see what the code is.
From reading product reviews it appears to be caused by turning on the ignition before the air bag light is plugged in. It appears several people have had that problem 🤔possibly from turning on the ignition to see if the radio works before plugging in the air bag light.
thank you for the video. i also have an 2016 transit 250 and would like to upgrade the audio from original radio. my question is " does the metra 99-5832g works and i do have a 4" screen.
We still haven't found an local car that lets us film the install. Most of these cars are work cars. Its hard for them to leave us the car to do a video.
Awesome, thanks for the help! :) Quick question, can I flash my current radio so that it will work with bluetooth? or is it just base and the buttons are for looks.
Maybe you can help me try to figure out my radio all it does is make all kinds of static he noise like there’s a loose connection somewhere when it’s on or even when it’s off. I don’t know if I should take it to the shop or I know I should take it to the shop I just need to know what do you think it’s going to cost?
This video was an eye opener. Where do you buy the tools you used to remove the dash parts. I know I will break them without the tools. Also I am looking for an after market radio with back up camera capability.
I literally have had at least 5 different people not work out to do this installation. I have all the parts but people just keep canceling because they don't want to leave the car here long enough for me to videotape the installation. Unfortunately I cant sell the parts until I do the installation video.
Hey man great video, I'm having issues with my van, the radio is not working any advice? I have checked the fuses all are fine, had it in a garage and they cant find the issue. Be great if you could help thanks
Thanks I appreciate it but we actually shot an install last week and have another one booked for next week. And because of reliability issues we do not install android radios. I can't risk my repudiation on a radio I don't trust.
I could care less about up grading the radio what i want to do is upgrade the screen for the backup camera to a bigger screen the screen that came with the van is like only two and a half inches by two and a half inches as i get older it's getting harder to see the ridiculous small screen.
Never found a car to do the video on. I actually have a local customer interested but I got busy during the holidays and havent had a chance to call him back.
Sorry for the late response. We still lave not done the transit install video. Most people that own transits use them for work and cant leave them a few days.
@@chrisdevalcourt648 yeah, except the Mistero RR does not work. I've flashed it properly, hooked up the wires correctly, spent hours on the phone with Crutchfeild Bought another head unit, went through all of that again I am an electrician as my profession, and a pretty good one And it still doesn't maintain factory controls Sooooooo
@@jag12549 thought /hoped they could help you? Just ordered a new system for my 2018 transit. Hoping I don't have the same problem? Maybe they have improved the kit. I'll let you know if and when I get mine installed. This will be something I can look out for and address with Crutchfield. Thanks
@@chrisdevalcourt648 they are super helpful. Nothing against Crutchfeild. Their reps are very knowledgeable and very well mannered and nice to work with. I buy anything audio from them now because their customer service is so to notch. It just won't work. The head units both work like a regular cd deck would. It allows you to click connect your soldered connections into the factory harness But it just wont process the steering wheel controls
We did a 2019 Tundra right when covid started. I had been short staffed since then so it has not been edited yet. But I now am at the point where I can start editing videos soon.
@@greekmaster1001 I do radios but not no Speaker or amplifiers right now because I'm short an employee. Hopefully in a couple of months things will be back to normal.
