YEEESSSS! Thank you so much for providing this video. I had the dealership quote me in excess of $1500 to replace the fuel pump. So, naturally I opted to buy one and put it in myself for around $100. Then when I looked online to find any kind of video for the 2009 - 2014 F150s that have a SuperCrew cab, I ould find nothing..... At least nothing helpful. And then boom, your video was up. Very timely for me as I am exactly in the midst of the little project. I'm glad I don't have to ruin anything.
Thanks Marty just watched for a refresher and you showed/explained every step just right. 2012 F150 4x4 5.0 has a 36 gallon tank with the skid plate was the only difference.
Thanks for the fuel line tips Marty! I've never seen that version a fuel line retention before, and most F-150 pump videos show the metal clip versions. That explanation was super helpful.
Right you are :-) @14:00 Those short lines cost more than the tank! (they were almost $100.00 each!) ~Very well done on the plug clips! (all the details are great) nice job!
Hi Ronny Mc Farland your welcome. you ain’t kidding about those connections . hey I’m going to try that thanks for the tip and thank you for watching I appreciate you
Thanks for your prompt reply and if you happen to get some information on how to fix it shoot me a note ~ keep up the good informational videos. Later!
@@marymaixner848 Haven't done it yet, this is a 3rd vehicle and not a daily driver. Only the sending unit is defunct on mine so I've been using the tripometer to montior fuel refills. Waiting for the weather to get a little warmer as I'm planning to unbolt and lift my bed slightly to access fuel pump/sending unit from above.
I have a evac leak warning indicator on my 2010 f150 showing on the dash. It say fuel cap leak/loose but as you know it does not have a cap - so do you have a quick easy fix? Thank you, Ric
Hi Ric Oropez wow not sure what to tell you just erase the code and hopefully it won't come back it it does check the lines hope that helps and thank you for watching i really appreciate you
That speech about the virus, 2 years later, is pretty hilarious in hindsight... "I'm practicing my social distancing" LOL yeah, that didn't do much of anything...
It’s 2024. Am I allowed to say & blame the Wuhan lab yet? Has the WHO or Fauci had any repercussions yet? It was just the global economy they collapsed.
Hey brotha how you doing my Ford is like not going while accelerating like it needs extra force to go pedal to the metal and nun I keep seeing a lot of videos of hesitation but it says it’s my throttle body or fuel pump clogged but idk how to tell which part the truck feels fine sometimes feels heavy he’ll be appreciate brotha thank you and have a good one
Hi Slow Boyzzzz!!!! It’s hard to tell but I don’t think it’s the fuel pump . But you can start by cleaning throttle body and your maf sensor. You can rent a fuel pressure guard from auto zone and check your fuel pressure might even want to change the gas filter if it has one . Start with the cheapest option then decide if you need to go to a shop or keep trouble shooting. Thanks for watching I appreciate you brotha
i have a 2004 expedition with a bad sending unit, i was told i can just replace the $ 50 sending unit and not the whole $400 fuel pump assembly, what are your thoughts on that
trigga ville hello yes you can just replace the sending unit and it will work but like always it’s recommended you do the whole thing while you have the tank down . I would do the whole pump too but I understand if it’s not in the budget just do the sending unit it’s not that hard of a job unless you have a full tank lol 😂
Excellent video my man. Always great to see videos on the faulty F150. Just one a million engineering gremlins. My tools never rust because I own one. Ha ha.
Hey Marty, I have a 2007 F150. Do you think it’s basically the same? I have issues with my sending unit. It will reset and work if I pull the fuse, then put it back in. But when I refill the tank it gives me the low fuel tank alarm and go all the way empty.
Hi Jerry Longwell my guess would be the sending unit is not properly working Intermittent. So might as well change everything. Hope that helps thank you for watching I appreciate you
Exactly the same problem I'm having with my 2011 F150 King Ranch. Mine seems to stop at 1/2 tank. I've got some time on my hand in a few weeks and look like the way to go, cause I was definitely going to remove the bed. Your procedures seems to be less complicated. I'll let yo know how it turns out .
@26:25 I would invest in a fuel line repair tool such as Dorman's, instead of glueing it all. If you had the line press tool, you wouldn't need the intermediary rubber hoses. The nylon line can be pressed right into the splice fittings, which makes for a quality job your customers would appreciate.
Has the truck had an issue with the gas gauge randomly showing less fuel then it actually has? For instance I start the truck up in the morning it showed half tank today but ok the way to work it kept dropping estimated mileage to E fast and the fuel needle kept dropping to the point where it triggered the low fuel light. Wondering if maybe something is wrong with the float on mine then?
@@Marty09933 My buddy has a 2012 (same generation as yours here) with a crewcab and we removed the bed to try to replace the pump that way, and the cab does in fact cover the fuel pump. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you don't waste your time trying in the future. Thanks for the video!
@@Steven-gv1ke hello thanks a lot for that important info not only will it help me but others that read the comments. I appreciate you brother thanks for watching
I appreciate it. I'm replacing the fuel filler neck and I'm contemplating my method of procedure, and how low the tank needs to go, and how far can it go down before the fuel line and evap line need to be disconnected. I can get my fingers on the hose clamp that attaches the fill pipe to the tank. But can't quite get any rotation. I feel like 4 to 5 inches shoukd do the trick. Hoping to have it go smooth
Didn’t look like you needed to jack up the rear end. How much clearance do you need to pull the tank out? I have standard wheels. My truck is 2013 F150 5.0 with same issue.
Hello Lee T Hiem you might be able to do it without jacking vehicle up. I’ve done a Denali like that it worked but was tight quarters .but to make the video this way helped the viewers see everything .i don’t remember how much clearance it had give it a shot you can alway jack up the vehicle if there’s not enough room. Thanks for watching I appreciate you good luck .
I have a 1993 ford F150 XLT 5.0 and the front fuel guage is stuck on 1/4 of a tank even when I fill the tank completely . The fuel pump still appears to be working correctly. Any idea on what could be wrong?
Thank you for the video but while it helped in changing out the pump and sending unit, it didn't fix my problem. My gas gauge goes to empty when power is off, it cycles when power is turned on but it immediately goes to quarter tank and stays there. Brand new pump and sending unit but no gas reading. What would you do next?
Hello Sibilicus55 your welcome and thank you for watching.I’m sorry to here this but that’s kinda what this was doing functioning up and down .what the other Mechanice had done was squeezed the sending unit so hard when putting it in that he got the sending unit stuck . Look at video at 18:12 also maybe a defect pump I know you don’t want to here this . And check wiring for breaks . Hope this helps I appreciate you
I have the same truck but 2012 3.7 v6 my gas gauge works here and there but last two months almost never , do you think I have the problem? How much for this service? Thanks brother, I’m a new subscriber
Hello David Caruso yes it sounds like it I did a vehicle that was doing the same and changed out the whole fuel pump and took car of the problem or if they just sell the sending unit you can just buy that its cheaper if your on a budget . It’s always recommend to do the whole thing. But if you can just get the whole fuel pump hope that helps brother and thank you for watching I appreciate you.....www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwiFya3i5L_sAhUOvsAKHSWdDW4YABAIGgJpbQ&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESQOD2hT2xkBUFXMniAZmR-00kxn777rjSL1miCdrmnPmgP9HZEowu7R0KPrjKP9zplsU1CH96Go_33GMz1MYnwBQ&sig=AOD64_2qctTdvL9DWFOHhrRFZFB5w06R0Q&ctype=5&q=&ved=2ahUKEwi48qLi5L_sAhVBCc0KHQVMAWEQwg96BAgTEBg&adurl=

@@andrewward4486 Hi Andrew Ward your right you can. I wasn’t sure of the setup I thought it was like some old school ones . But yes you can do it your way . Thank you for the comment always appreciate you

Hi Robby Atshan wow no kidding? I’m going to try it and see if it works it will be cheaper . Thank you for the comment and thank you for watching I appreciate you
Hi Anselmo Martinez sounds like your sending unit is out. You might want to replace the whole fuel pump if it’s in the budget Thanks for watching I appreciate you
Hi Barbi Bimbo thank you for the link. I do use JB weld it just depends on what I’m working on . I’ve had real good luck with this glue but it is expensive. Thanks again love the comment
Makes no sense if it's a lifetime warranty why don't you just get a new one you can't fix something that's a I'll be back and telling you was doing the same you should have got a new part for free
