I love these episodes. But one criticism, put them all on the same style tire. Tires are so critical off road. A ford raptor on highway tires would suck in the snow too. With the prices of the vehicles being so different it’s one factor that could be an even playing field.
@wilmarbarrick3194
@wilmarbarrick3194 6 месяцев назад
If this were some sort of scientific test, sure... but the reality is tires are expensive and it makes little sense to put them on a vehicle that they don't plan to keep. Take it for what it is, a comparison between vehicles the way you would do it with your buddies.
@TheMeanmarine13
@TheMeanmarine13 6 месяцев назад
@@wilmarbarrick3194me and my buddies wouldn't have $8k deficit between vehicles haha. And street tires. Only paying $6.5k for the Ford, he has plenty of tire money left over.

My ‘02 Expedition never ceases to amaze me with its capabilities even with the smaller 4.6 triton V8. A good set of AT tires with factory height suspension and my old girl can very comfortably get me almost anywhere. Hardly ever have to put it in 4 low👌

For next series I'd love to see three Midsize suvs under 10k, with low range, third row, v8 and a hitch. You could tow, go Offroad, drag race and carry people as challenges. Good examples would be early 2000's durangos, explorers, and envoy xl's mid 2000s pathfinders, 4runners and commanders

Nice choices with the 5.7 Hemi Durango. Should bring in early 2000’s the 6.0 Chevy 2500 Suburbans.

Depends on how early 2000s of a Durango. They still made the 1st gen after 2000 and the 4.7 V8 model had a 5 speed auto vs the 4 speed auto of the 5.9 Magnum. The 4.7 accelerated quicker too due to that 5 speed.

I loved my 1999 Ford Expedition! Mine was the XLT with the 5.4L V8 and 4r100 transmission. My first vehicle in high school in 2014. Grew up in Moab and it was great for running the trails there! Still have it, just rebuilding the motor at 220,000 miles because valves were not seating properly anymore and oil rings and piston rings went out.

The Land Cruiser is amazing and easily the best off road regardless of tires but the Suburban nameplate is farrrr more well known in the United States overall. I know this is a Tahoe but just saying. As far as an iconic people mover, it’s the burban hands down

This one is a no brainer Toyota and Chevy lol I have a GMT800 Silverado that’s been in the family for 24 years with no rust and I’m sure that 400 series has served well and still looks great! Victory Red like mine also Toyota because I like Toyota.

Slap brand new tires on that Ford and it still would have cost less then the other two and it would out perform both of them by the metrics you guys where using in this video. The Landcruiser couldn't even get into 4L and somehow it get's first place? Ya'll fumbled the rankings here lol. Still a fun watch. Cheers boys!

I'd love to see a 90s Compact SUV challenge in this format, maybe a RAV4, a CRV, and a Tracker? Would be a cool comparison especially considering how surprisingly off road capable those early compact SUVs are (especially the RAV4)
