I don't have a problem with electric vehicles unless they are mandated. For me, it's free charging from solar. But I will never give up my diesel tractor or gas powered vehicles.
Doesn’t do me any good if I can’t take the vehicle out to the woods camping and hunting because of no power. I live in a rural state that there could be no power to charge for more than 200 miles. EV’s are a waste of money.
I talk crap about Ford but I do like the utility of the hybrid system with on board power is super cool. Work and camping with no worries about power. But I love my GMC. Thank you
Great video, shows the reality of these electric vehicles not being truly functional. Also, I don’t think the payload capacity rating on that ram truck you stated is correct…I have a Ram 2500 with a 3200 payload capacity. I sincerely doubt the truck that you drove has a smaller capacity than the cybersuck….
when the manufacturers build an electric that can do 500 miles IN ANY CONDITION then people will be beating down the dealers doors.......don't hold your breath.
Summary: 85 miles. 8.72 gal. in diesel truck vs 1:28 to full charge and a big bag of Bucees Nuggets and $10 more. Worse than expected. Good road test! You guys are awesome!😀
My 2008 Chevrolet 3500 HD is rated for 3500 lbs carrying capacity. It has a 6 .0 and pulls like a elephant. Maxed out towing and carrying I get 10 mpg. If you have to worry about fuel consumption you can’t afford a heavy duty truck. I carry a 100 gallon slip tank in the box. along with tools and motor cross bikes and tow a triple axle cargo trailer loaded with a 3 ton Dodge M-37. This truck does two round trips from Vancouver B.C. to Loreto Mexico . My wife and I drive it like we stole it and it just keeps on running. For the record I hate Chevy’s but I have egg on my face . This truck has been amazing. We paid $20,000 CDN at a Ritchie Bros auction and the truck was a former long box crew cab 4x4 logging crummy . It was a year old when we got it. The price of any new HD truck makes me want to vomit . Best bang for your buck is to find a older classic with a 454 a keep it well maintained. Good luck to anyone buying a new $100,000 truck.
"Tesla knocked it out of the ball park with payload, I mean 2500 lbs of payload that's beyond heavy duty truck", what rock have you been living under?? My 2003 Dodge Ram dually has a payload of 5000 lbs. The cyber truck is a joke, and that's coming from a Tesla owner! Yes, yes I bought a model S years ago. I have free lifetime charging, but that car itself sucks. Plain interior, crappy A/C, lack of luxury, crappy leather quality, trunk broke, rear window fell off the regulator, front axle broke, 12V "systems" battery needs replacing. Now it says my main battery fuse needs replacing. Bet that's going to be expensive. I wouldn't know though, because you can't even call the service department! I would never buy another Tesla.
and people love these vehicles lmao, its just not going to work bruh obviously an electric vehicle cant tow as good as a damn diesel, its the dumbest thing ever im not hating its just that there is more behind electric vehicles than "Stopping Pollution" when creating electricity is more polluting than gas and diesel combined
Congrats to Nathan! I always wondered if you all would expand. I’d imagine the number of press cars in Colorado would have to be limited. Curious on if you’ll hire new staff in LA?
lol diesel in Canada works out to $7 to $8 a gallon depending which province your in......and thats when the prices are low like right now otherwise your looking at $8 to $9 during summer and if you think thats bad well gas is always more expensive then diesel so imagine how us Canadians feel filling up our cars when we see american prices lol and thats only one of the things in a huge list of other things that we pay double or triple for compared to the US.......Canada is ridiculous........and our Crime Minister is even more ridiculous.......we are a few small steps away from being the next communist controlled country.
Honestly there are 2 factors here. How much do you tow and what’s your income. The latter makes more of a difference than anything. A $105k truck on a $100k year salary is damn near impossible unless you have zero other debt and have saved for a while. And let’s be honest, if you take the average in America $100k is a high high salary. Now if you make $500k per year whether you tow or not, maybe it’s just something you want, a $105k might be just fine.
Hopefully it works out well for Nathan and TFL here in CA. Gonna miss not having all the guys together, you have great chemistry in and off camera snd some of my favorite videos are will all 3 of the "amigos". Either way hopefully this means that we'll have more cars and a wider selection of reviews here on TFL!
I've owned both of these trucks. Got tired of doing injectors and fixing fuel and oil leaks in the valley on the 7.3. Also did Hi pressure oil pump on the 7.3 and cam position sensor twice and valve cover gaskets because the terminals burt out and the under valve cover wiring harnesses etc. On my old dodge I've done the transmission and one high pressure fuel line. I've owned it twice as Long and it had 60000 more miles on it when I got it than my Ford did when it blew up. I had a 93 ford with a transplanted 7.3 idi turbo out of a 94 that I loved but the truck rusted out around the engine.
the load on the front axle of that trailor is way off when getting pulled by the cyber truck. its not level when pulling. im willing to bet you will wear out those bearings fast when pulling it that way
You also have to add the cost of DEF oil change filters that are not needed in the Cyber Truck. But I don't like the Cyber Truck as there are other problems with it. The ECO part of the EV's are the main thing as the heath of the people and the air that you breath are much cleaner with the change. Do look in to the other figures that come in to play as the gas add Diesel vehicles have done so much DAMAGE. Take it Easy, Bye.
The bigger trucks are great for hauling big loads that large farms need. Even small farms would need a diesel. The small truck has it's place too though. Although besides town trips, you could replace it with a gator.. maybe
2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax new Feb 2007. Towed 31’ std trailer for 10 years, and 35’ 5th wheel for 7 years. Finally sold Feb 2024 due to health issues. Total vehicle towing milage for 17 years = 12.4 mpg @ posted speed limits depending on weather and terrain adjustments. Non-towing highway milage = 20.8 mpg. Urban driving ~ 14.5 mpg. Biggest complaint was small 26 gallon tank! NO major repairs needed. I’m not sold on electric trucks yet.
