I had a similar problem with my ford. Turns out the battery needed replaced and if they can't detect a fault then it's the port itself that is faulty on car. Also had that replaced under warranty at ford dealership.
I've spoken to several others who have had similar problems. Seems to be standard with Fords. They refused to do anything about it. I complained to the state attorney general and Ford's response was that there was no fault code and they did not need to fix it. I dumped the car at a huge loss, and bought a Hyundai. It's a great car and I will never own another Ford.
I've had lot of problems with my sync system as well , it's a ford thing , had a gmc it worked perfectly no problems with it,ours has switched to different stuff as well , and Bluetooth does not work correctly as well as mechanical work being denied too, and it was covered under the warranty, tired of Ford fixing to trade it in , all the dealerships around here suck I refuse to ever by a Ford product again
We're on the same train of thought. No one in my family will ever buy a Ford product again. I have also let all of my friends know. It's one thing to have a defective car, but for the manufacturer not to fix it while it's under warranty is inexcusable. We have a Hyundai and several GMs and love them all.
