80's were such a real, quality time period- when there was still manners, care for your fellow human , and classic family values excisted, and MTV...lol, and no damn cell phones!!!...🤣🤣🤣
I was at the lowest point in my life when this was all over the airwaves, lost my girl, I was 1000 miles away and no way to reach her. That was 1981. She’s sleeping in our bed now, I’m up late, writing this. We reunited 13 years later and this tune, as much as I love it, brings me back to those days when I thought I’d lost her forever. But now all I have to do is look in on her in the next room. I love her more than ever.
This almost bring me to tears, fate or God or whatever you want to believe but I'm happy to hear that sir. My blessings to you both for long and happy, fulfilled lives. You found her! I just wish I lived in the 80s 😭🤘
Almost 35 years ago I was incredibly in love with a girl. At that time I was as radio deejay and to express my feelings for her I played this song on my radio show. Now we've married for then 32 years now and she's still the love of my life.
Wimdh1 - I just posted... 35 years married now for me.... I think I was lucky to find the my "soulmate". She's my best friend too. 65 years old but 30 when this song came out.... helped me make the right decision... she said "yes" !!
These songs of the 80's are unbeatable. Those who are of that era have certainly enjoyed the best of the best....This still inspires....makes me feel young..and takes me back to my school days.... awesome 😊
Agree . I remember wanting to ask that special girl to dance in high school and my hands would be sweating like crazy lol .Great memories for sure cheers .
I redated my first love 23 years later!!!!(After my marriage fell apart, was separated. He'd just separate. He had been through two marriages not good for him. Him with 4 kids. Two he adopted from the marriages. Me 4 kids later. Then we reconnected outta literally nowhere like magic!!!❤❤❤He separated 3 days before I had, and we reconnected. We're very much in love yet again. Even more than the first time at 16!!!!
I’m 44 years of age and getting divorced. This song gives me hope for the future when I will meet the right girl. I’ve always loved this classic 😁 Edit: I’ve met a wonderful woman, she might be the one 😊
Me and my brother were the only black kids in school that could sing rock / soft rock songs from beginning to end 😄 I still have to sing this entire song whenever it comes on. Love this classic. We had the best music great memories ❤
Foreigner is so underrated, their songs their music actually touch home, how they put these lyrics to music is amazing. The feelings and emotions there stir up inside is incredible. Not just one song but all their music says something .The lyrics aren't just words but feelings that touch your sole. So sad to see the crap that they call music now.
Being alive is a privilege because we get to listen to songs like this at this very moment. When we are gone from this world, this song will live on for other people to experience and write messages like this one, commenting on what this song makes them feel like.
I played this song over and over and over when I drove home from the hospital visiting my dad who was dying of esophageal cancer. I miss him. He was my hero! This song just soothed me and still does. It’s been 26 years that he died. Love you dad. Daddy’s girl forever.
God knows best. Sorry!. 😕 but stay strong because life goes on after we die. Believe what Jesus said who ever believe in him will live forever with him in peace. ❤🙏
The first time I discovered this song I was 20 years old ....more than 40 years later I am still loving this song ....the eternal never dies ....with love 💕
Came here today to listen to this great song once again because Lou Gramm just announced his retirement after performing for 50 years. His legend lives on.
I have a firm belief that’s the gift of life . You are living a part in time where one day someone will tell you the same thing . I guess that’s up to us to live a good life ourselves to have something to look back on
It's the soundtrack of our younger lives Allen. We listen to a song like this and we're transported back to the Fall of 1981. Unfortunately Time stops for no one...
Eric H. "Feels Like the First Time" is even older; 38 years. This kind of music though, much like most music from the 1965-1980 classic rock era and eras before it, is timeless.
Angel Deville I agree Angel...hard to believe this was the music I started listening to, makes me feel like an old man, well I'm in my 40s anyway. Same can be said about so many bands, some of which still play today, at least the ones that have stood the test of time, e.g.: Aerosmith, Ozzy(Black Sabbath formerly), Kiss, the Stones, Def Leppard, just to name a few. I love the old and the new (but not the 'new' style hiphop, gangsta rap and rock nowadays, its just trash), just the old bands that have kept up with the times. Even Duran Duran I believe still is together, could be wrong. The 80's we're by far the best decade for all these bands. That was my generation, and even a lot of teenagers nowadays look back, listen to our songs (and geez now we're the parents), and many actually like them. Go figure...
We didn't really appreciate it when we were living through it, though. It was just life. But now it seems like some kind of magical golden age compared to today's awful times.
Indeed it does. Shame the younger geniration dont know musical love like this. Only if the parents play it.. But they kids wont cuz was not in the mainstream when alive ..some yes most no
Good old days are still here , just for the few. FEWER. 😮 Blinded By The Light ( Mannfred Mann's Earth Band ) 🎉 Don't Fear The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult ) ❤ GIVE BLOOD ( Pete Townshend)
Simply love this song. Brings back wonderful memories of a beautiful lady who stole my heart. But it wasn't meant to be cos life got in the way, at least we're still the best of friends and who knows. Thank you Foreigner, for that most awesome love song. It always resonates, a timeless classic 🤩
Im born 1987. I never heard a song from foreigners. Then when my father died i took all his lp. At least 1000 lps. For example i have several uk first press pink floyd albums. I listened nearly all those lps, but thid one from foreigner was somehow my favourit. The album 4 irc. Listened the whole album at least 30 tiems. Just chillin on thw sofa and enjoy. Priceless
This song reminds of being young , in love and hanging out with friends with a case of beer on cold foggy nights. Hearing this song really make me feel the feeling of life at that time, at 15
And standing in front of the store, telling adults, " Can you please take our money and buy us the beer, see we're fifeenu and in love !!!! " ....ah, it's 1981 again , hearing this !!!!
I hear ya brother. Those times with friends, hanging out, having some beer, making out with your girl, listening to tunes, losing yourself in the moment.
@@mongo4511 That's Spanish. If the translate feature is not available to you, they said: "When music was pure, sound, with a clear message, with beautiful melodies, and spectacular voices..."
I remember listening to this in the back seat of my parents car on long trips when I was a little kid and being fascinated by this sound. It always takes me back to that place when I hear it.
It is inevitable and inexplicable that feeling in the soul when listening to and remembering these songs, remembering that time when you dedicated it to her, that girl who turned your world around.
October 1981 I was 13 years old when this song came out !! 💎 I just had started eighth grade high school and I have no clue about love not real love anyway. Now when I listen to it at age 48 now I know what the meaning of the song really is I love it a true classic I loved it in October 1981 and I still do !! The meaning is really bittersweet
+M Zach I will never forget buying this album in October 1981!!! 💙 I was 13 and just started 8 th grade !! 💙 I never knew anything about love at 13 years old
80-90's indian kids... Who is here after Guns and Gulaab, here to revisit old school memories, MTV and channel V, those nostalgic days, for that one special girl which made your heart beat fast... Now married and having kids, but still remembering old days??
My mother would play this on her organ sitting in her room while stoned. She could play anything by ear.Eagles, bread, man you name it. Super talented and played guitar as well. Miss you ma.
Love this song 💋 reminds me of someone I love but sadly nothing came of it. Neighbours were playing it in the garden just now. So I thought I’d put it to my list
You might want to listen to so.e if the soft rock from the mid 60 and the 70s. Seems we all be live the music of our teens and 20s was the best. The 80s had some beautiful songs too, just not as many. IMO
Must have been a great decade! I'm 20 years old but I prefer 80's rock aswell. I'm writing that kinda music myself. I play and record everything, I just don't have professionell equipment, that's why the sound is not perfect. Here's the youtube link to my new song. Not doing this for likes, so don't give me likes but I'm happy for any (ANY) kind of feedback, just in case somebody is interested:) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kqcBnJXSiGg.html
Take me back please so I can feel the way I felt back then....I was born in 81 but this song was being played the late 80s and my parents used to play it all all the time
Não vive essa época no passado, porém, a vivo no presente através das incontáveis canções!!! Época de ouro. Anos 80 é imbativelmente inigualável no que diz respeito à música.
Have just heard this song on the radio and was instantly captured, and deeply moved, by it. I am a 68 year old divorcee who gets a bit lonely sometimes. Perhaps there is the right lady out there for me after all. I live in hope. Such a touching, beautiful song.
I think they will. My parents (54 years old) played so many amazing hits from the 80s when I was younger and I will definitely play them to my kids too
