Although I have been here nearly 4 years I'll tell you what my first impression was like. I had been introduced to my now wife and had text and vid chat for a bit over a year. My sister in-law (a Philippina) talked to her mom about me as I had planned on moving here (I'm a 100% disabled combat vet US Army) for the weather (cold weather cripples me) and the price of living. Well sis's mom knew my wifes family and got her fb info and sent it to me. So I contacted her. That said the first week here sucked lol. I got very Very sick. I couldn't hold down food for 4 days and had to stay close to the bathroom. My girlfriend ended up staying with me to doctor me through after a fast trip to the doctor's. Said I must have eaten something that got me sick as I had mild food poisoning. After getting better I went to a family gathering (150+ relatives) and still not feeling that good got overheated. Thankfully the relatives put me in a bedroom with AC to cool down. Everyone was worryed to death about me. After I cooked off I went back out and enjoyed meeting everyone. I fell in love with the way people were here. It reminded me of my childhood when we (large Irish and Native American family) would gather. The food was different but the love was thick. Have loved this place since. We have a 2 year old son and plan on raising him here away from the crap American education system.
In Thailand plenty of single Filipinas who worked as a teachers , there are nurses too, some worked in orivate offices and hotels. I asked them why they don't date Westeners or American they're answers are, where they live? If they live in PH. Do they survive?. Thats their concern. Same in the PH. with all my Fiilipina. friends.
We Filipinos Truly Love Foreigners Visiting and Staying In Our Country Regardless Of Race Or Nationality Everyone is Welcome. Simply Filipino, Loving and Caring.

The BEST THING TO DO WHEN YOU'RE IN THE PHILIPPINES FOR A TOURIST?---- DON'T RUSH THINGS! FEEL THE VIBE, FEEL THE CULTURE!-- RELATE with the LOCALS. EAT SOME LOCAL FOOD! RIDE THE JEEPNEYS! HAVE FUN..AND WHO KNOWS,..YOUR LOVELY,CARING FILIPINA IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!❤❤❤
I’m Filipina living here in California with my family. I’m just happy to hear some foreigners loving the Philippines culture. I can say it’s really very different here in the US where people are just too busy working and not a lot of places to go to. My husband and I never go to movies and just end up going to casinos every now and then and losing money. So I thought never go to casinos. Over there in Manila there’s lots of mall to spend time with family and go to nice restaurants. Here in Los Angeles is not as fun for me to go to malls. Manila is better than cities over here. It’s more fun in the Philippines. Can’t wait to go visit.
What Are you Talking About So Many place’s You Can Visit Here in California… Go To Santa Monica , Pier Venice Beach Hollywood, Disney Land , Universal Studio, Knotts Berry Farm , Griffith Park, I Can Go On And On And Plenty of Restaurants To Go To You Just Know Where To Go , If You Drive Go To Neighboring City , Like San Diego, San Francisco Palm Spring, Malibu and in Between…. Philippines is Only Good if You Have Money If You Don’t Nganga 😅😂😂✌️✌️✌️
@@piacash5216as if living there in that place you don't need money, I think you are Pinoy, so you know the difference in how much in monetary expenses could cost to go places between the US as compared to the Philippines, Malls, and leisure places here is just around the corners, you need not spend more compare to the US where you need to travel long to reach your leisure fun! 😉👌
Great first impressions of the Philippines from these people Alex you met a fellow Canadian who's from your same hometown incredible that That Australian guy who lived in Thailand for a long time also gave some great answers and the last guy you interviewed so right on Filipinas here they are better than most western women in a lot of ways. Take care Alex 👍🆒😎
Nice interviews. Btw, the girls of the first interview ought to try public commuting together, even if just for fun. They'll realize that taking public transpo in the Philippines, as a girl, is not really dangerous at all.
I like the way you interviewed some tourist from different countries they came from and about everything Philippines and they all replied on a very positive ways. Thanks to everyone and especially to you as vloggers promoting Philiipine culture All the best and God bless.Cheers.
Hope you and That Philippines Life can collaborate together again! I am your fellow canadian living in the Philippines since 2017 and I've been following you since you were here last year!! Missing Palm but maybe she can jump into a live stream w you so we can see her cheerful smile again 😊
It's very interesting to hear about first impressions in the Philippines. Thank you so much for those whom you interviewed. We truly appreciate their honesty - their nice comments and negative ones. It's undeniably true that Filipinos are the friendliest and most hospitable in the whole world. I cannot think of any other nation
2008 I visited Manila and Boracay. It was totally not my cup of tea but 2009 I gave another chance and came down South to Cebu. That was it and now I have lived over 10 years here. 🇫🇮❤️🇵🇭
Hi sir👋 I am your new subscriber I’m a pilipina thanks a lot for all the foreigners go to Philippines 🇵🇭 for tourist yes it’s true very nice beach are many here in the Philippines thank you sir for interviewing about my country take care and godbless you 👏👏👏
For all the foreigners or Tourist who wants to go to Philippines to experience the culture or life of the locals. Just a short info about pilipinos are naturally friendly and Very Hospitable people. And once you find a real friend then Bingo! You find a real Gold as well.Besides most of them speaks and understand English as well but not at all specially from the provinces or remote areas! But mostly in the cities you'll be fine, just enjoy your holidays and be friendly! All the Best and thank you for your stay in the Philippines.Just a reminder!( Allways keep your Camera rolling wherever you go coz , it's never Lie...
Thanks for the good impression you have here in the Philippines. Most Filipinos are friendly and cheerful.have a nice stay here in our country.enjoy.😊😎✌
Hey Alex that’s pretty cool that Canadian girl came from the same town as you. Great video btw it’s nice to see an update and more perspective from new foreigners.
Yeah..not spicy and more diverse when it comes to cuisines where in Thailand they push more of showcasing their spicy food where i can't eat it everyday but maybe once in a while.
Wow, mostly very positive comments from foreign visitors! I hope my country will continue to be welcoming to foreigners who just want to enjoy life and spread happiness. Having said that, I‘m hoping that the Philippines infrastructure will continue to improve to give everybody the opportunity to be safe and comfortable all the way!!! I think I‘ll keep following your vlogs now, thank you❣️👍🏽🤗🥰
to ali... as i watched this video from start to end.. i noticed that all interviewees have positive response about PHILIPPINES no single sugar coating.. both male and female regardless of their nationalities... meaning philippines is a country for everybody...
Yancy the hungarian guy looks tough yet a very nice guy. Hope he will have a chance to meet with Susie In The Philippines, a hungarian to. Seems to me that hungarians at nice and humble people. 😊😊😊
Guys do not take "looking for Filipino woman" negatively. I have watched a lot of videos with those foreigners saying the same thing. They simply mean: if they will retire, they like it here in the Philippines. The main reason is that when they grow old they want someone who will take care of them. Filipinos are the most caring people in the planet. The foreigners are afraid that they will be sent to homes for the aged without loved ones or relatives to take care of them personally.
06:17 I liked the personality and demeanor of Adrian (?). I hope he gets to find what he is looking for. Nice interviews. No awkwardness (which I sometimes see in other interview vlogs) but then again it can be edited out hahaha.
It's a much easier place to visit than to live full time, I miss my days as a Philippines visitor.....the one thing that can be said as a full time resident in the Philippines as the US dollar still does go a long way here...Tagay folks and come to see for yourselves but remember visiting and living here are two very different things.
Exactly what I was thinking! All these people are brand new arrivals. There opinion is moot! Interview people who have lived there at least a year and you will get a more thorough response.
The guy at the end was spot on. Take your time and true the women are more accepting. You know your "in" when you meet the family. Dating usually means helping out the family. Also most date with marriage in mind. Like the USA guy said, Thia food/hospitals/infrastructure is far better than PH.
Any foreign race or nationality come to our country The Philippines, We Filipinos, "We think you are one of us" our heart is saying "welcome back and please stay forever"
I’m in California and the worst calamities had destroyed homes and people who were unfortunate and did not survived in some places in the USA. The worst are the countless gun shooting incidents in the safest places you can think of, like in elementary schools, movie theater and churches. I don’t feel safe here. There are no security guards in public places here. Unlike there in Manila, security guards are everywhere. I’m from Manila and I worked in the bank for 16 yrs before I migrated to California to be with my husband.
@Livingabroadalex I already press the bell so that I will not miss your video anymore. If you happen to visit Hongkong let us know so we'll meet you here and would be nice if Palm is with you..
I understand that the value of dollar is equal to 1:54 pesos and the euro is 1:60 pesos..almost a litre of gasoline you what i mean so enjoy your vacation.
My first experience was paying too much for transportation to go to my hotel which is 18 minutes $1800 pesos and riding to kalesa tour $2000 pesos after that never happened again and you know why because we’re so tired the first arriving in the Philippine 😂. I would like to share is pay attention paying the taxis, UV express or Uber it cost between 200 pesos 290 pesos, if under 18 minutes close to airport it cost 230 pesos okay to pay 200 pesos okay too but I found myself how to get around to people and they do have a good people in Philippine. So they are honest and I give them a tips 😂
Yes the Philippines can be a paradise if you have the money. I have a friend that stayed in the Philippines for a month and he said he had 10 helpers and I believe him. He said it comes with the house and what the heck, why refuse. A cook, driver, 4 domestic helper/cleaner, laundry, landscaper, and a butler. Here there are no shortages, the stores are fully stocked but buyers are few and far in between.
In Philippones most of the oeople soeak English & evweything is cheap (loqwr cist: food, clothes & duty free) and there are a lit of places to go (lpt of beaches in dufferent locatiins as Phiks is composed of +.7, 400 iskands and there is also cold area (Baguio)
Hi Alex, your comment about feeling at home due to your height was a good one. What is your height btw? I’m 6’2”, so I suppose I’d feel a bit like a giant there. How long are you planning on staying in Cebu this trip? Will you travel to some other cities while you are there? Enjoy!
I'm almost a foot shorter than you bro. That's why I'm so down to earth 😂 no idea how long I'll stay but if my budget allows, then yea I'll be visiting other cities!
you'll be taller than average, but you won't really feel like a giant in the cities. I'm 6'0 and I see Filipino men who are as tall as me and sometimes taller on a daily basis. But I'm in Manila
@@davidmartin2706 Yes, there are certainly more taller people due to the much larger population in the big cities. I live in the countryside, so the population is relatively low (but still 250+K). I’m taller than most people here. But, sure in Tokyo (+/-20M)... there are many taller Japanese. Just one example: where I live, I can NEVER find American size 12 shoes here. I am forced to pretty much wear flip flops all year... lol 😂!
As a local what i dont like about this country is the infrastructure and top contender is definitely the internet like you pay a huge sum of money but get sub par bad internet one time i did a speed test and got 0.01 download speed
