Hope you enjoyed this episode, despite not being so much in the forest :) We like when passionate people run small shops, we like to support them any way we can, here is a link to Amanda and Jans Tea shop: www.tecentralen.se/
I love your forest and farm, it's wonderfully calming to connect with you in that way. However it was fun to see you all in a different context. I bet it was good to get back to your real life on the homestead, maybe a relief from a busy, noisy City. ☺️💕
Even though everything is exciting and fun for Ivar, he stays so well behaved and in control of his emotions. You are such amazing parents! Bless your family! ❤️
When Ivar told his father not to walk on the road - the tone was so reprimanding + pleading - so sweet that he has a clear understanding of the danger and cared enough to call you back.
You both are doing incredible with Ivar. He's such a sweet, intelligent, well-mannered lil man who is already so ahead of most his age and that's a testament to you both.
I'm 58 and have 5 grandchildren (with another on the way) who are my pride and joy (as were their mothers!). It was lovely to hear your appreciation of grandparents - I know my family appreciates me, but I am so sorry for all those families where this structure doesn't work for whatever reasons. Thanks for another very enjoyable episode - Talasbuan goes to Town sounds like a storybook title ;)
Yes, you're so right about Grandparents. I'm going on 80 yrs in a few months and am close to all 6 of my Grandchildren. It's a JOY to spend time with my children and grandchildren. The circle of life IS beautiful. Ivar is very Blessed to live in the forest... He's learning more from nature to sustain his life. You and both wonderful parents. You need to be proud of yourselves. God has and continues to Bless y'all!!!! Much love from the USA.
My dad was a butcher and made all his own cold cuts and sausages. I remember him telling me that you need to massage the sausage as it goes into the casing to force out excess air. He either boiled them or smoked them, depending on the kind of sausage it was and before he would smoke the sausage he would poke a hole here and there with a thick needle which would allow air to escape. Smoking also greatly speeds up the drying process so it won't have to hang so long. He had a tall smoker and used shavings and wood dust from Birch and some other hardwoods. I hope this helps.
My grandad was not a butcher but every winter butchered a few pigs when i was a child. He did the same - massage and poking. He let me do the poking, i loved it. He smoked the sausage. When he got older, butchering stopped but he bought meat to make the sausage. I remember when we had the last piece after he passed..
I know it's time consuming, but I love when you add subtitles for Ivar. I love the curious questions of young ones. That, and his statements, give you a glimpse of how his intelligence is growing.
Love how this channel shows old Scandinavian traditions and appreciation for family which I remember from my childhood. It takes me and many others back to a simpler time. Pursuit of adventure etc when I was very young took me to far away places. Seeing this makes me want to visit Sweden/Sverige and perhaps Finland one more time.
I was moved and at the same time amazed to see the way your child well behaved! So lovely to see his astonishment in the shops where so many things were displayed...and yet he didn't ask for anything, no fuss, just pleased to observe! He is a real treasure, one of the kind! I loved to see him riding those toys in the streets but particularly sweet was to see him carrying his fire brigade truck all around! Just one toy did make his day. You, your parents and Ivar are so wonderful people!!! Hugs from Italy to you all and the viewers.
I so love Ivar’s little conversations. Thank you for translating. How much joy it brings me to watch your little lad grow, I can’t imagine all the joy you’re experiencing daily with him. It’s just so sweet.
Ivar is such a sweet , well mannered and intelligent little fellow; his parents are doing a wonderful job raising him to be a good and thoughtful person person. I thought it so sweet when he told his father to come off the road because he was concerned for his father’s safety… Ivar will grow up to be a wonderful husband and father some day, just like his own father. I hope he finds a wife, who shares the good qualities of his mother who will also appreciate his fine qualities.
Ivar is an exceptional boy. You are both doing an amazing job as his parents. He is a very intelligent young boy. Thank you for your videos. They are so interesting and informative. ❤️
Beautiful people, you never fail to delight me and inspire a bit of weeping as I consider the wonderful, peaceful and lovely lifestyle you manifest. I couldn't love three total strangers any more than I do you all. Gott nytt ar from Elk, Washington (state) USA.
I was very impressed that Ivar was not afraid of the man walking around in the goat costume; so many young children fear Santa Claus when they first meet him in person. Tell me, please, what foods did you serve at your outdoor feast around the fire? I saw wrapped chocolates and the charcuterie cheese and meats, but what were the other two foods? That all looked delicious! Many blessings to you, this year and always!
What a beautiful child you have. You can sure tell he comes from a family that nurtures him, and values his company. Merry Christmas from beautiful Southern Oregon!!🎄❤️
Beautiful video Mathias and Tova. Ivar is a delightful child - you can tell he lives in a peaceful environment. He is contented and his mind has room for thoughtfulness and contemplation about what he sees and experiences. Lovely that your families can all be together in peace and harmony. My grand child is almost the same age and she is our family treasure. I feel so fortunate to have her and her family in our lives and I know they appreciate having us in theirs. We are also blessed with harmony when all sides of the family get together. Have a happy Christmas and I wish you and your families peace and good health for 2023.
It was lovely, with both grandparents being there. Tova is carbon copy of her mother, never noticed that earlier.,and the way Ivar is developing as such a confident child, its just kudos to the parents.💗
lovely, thank your sharing Ivar's Grandparents with us. I can not imagine what a culture shock it must have been for Ivar to be in the city: too many people, too much noise, too many toys, too many new fragrances (popcorn) May the Lord Bless you each day.
Thanks for taking us along to experience the shops and Christmas festivities. It was fun to watch Ivar's reactions to so many new things, a sensory overload for the boy who lives in the woods. And yes, it is such a blessing that he can visit with his grandparents. God Jul.
My grandfather made beautifully delicious salamis, deep red inside and almost black on the outside from all the paprika, spices and smoking. He was famous for them in our small town in Hungary. I wish I had his recipes and knowledge. Beautiful video as always. :)
So wonderful for ivar to have both sets of grandparents !! But watching him while he was in town, going from shop to shop it's clear what wonderful parents you both are. That in this world we live in now is a blessing for him. I'm from America, a small town in Kansas. How I wish we had those beautiful shops like you have over there. Ivar is just a few...ish months older than my first and only grandson so love watching his progress as I'm far from him. Love all you do. How you live. How wonderful your hearts are. Merry Christmas to the three of you and Happy New Year !!
When I was in Europe (74-76) and the UK (82-86), I loved going to the many shops and markets. It certainly was a different time, but the ambience seems to be the same ... or I hope so anyway. It is wonderful to share this time with you and your family, and experience the world through your eyes. Take care Mathias, Tova & the little man Ivar🐺🌲🛷
Thank you for sharing this precious weekend with us. Ivar is growing up so quickly, it was lovely watching him take charge and making sure you were safe. Since finding Talasbuan on YT, I have made sauerkraut and a body balm - I am still figuring out my formula but I haven't bought a pre-made one since. Homemade sausages are still on my list. Best wishes.
I LOVEYOU GUYS! I LOOOOVE IVAR!!!!!!!!! HE IS SOO CUTE , CLEVER, AND BEAUTIFUL! HE IS AMAZING .. HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR WITH GOOD HELTH AND LOTS OF HAPPYNESS... TAKE CARE !!❤
Дуже приємне святкове відео! Ваші батьки дуже щасливі мати таких хороших дітей і онука! Родина прекрасна ! А Івар так швидко росте і дорослішає. Бажаю вам тільки щастя в Новому році! Greetings from Ukraine!🥰
In South Africa we have a similar sausage, but mostly made with beef and/or venison. Raw, they are called Boerewors, made with spices like coriander, cloves, pepper, salt (Directly translated as Farmers Sausage). Dried they are called Droëwors (Dry wors), altough it is made thinner and dried out a lot more. We dry our meat (biltong, which is also mostly made from beef or venison, spiced with simar spices, vinegar, sugar, etc We have biltong Dryers, enclosed to protect from insects, ventilated to assist with drying. A lot of concepts for these dryers are available on the net.
It is fun to see your trip thru the eyes of Ivan. He appreciates his extended family. I never knew my grandparents when I lived in Sweden. Farfar and Farmor lived in Skelleftea and we lived in Karlskrona. Then when I was 9 we moved from Sweden. Glad you are all enjoying spending time and watching Ivan grow up. He is intelligent and social and very cute.😄❤️
I think it is so sweet the way Ivar looks at everything when he is in a town and is very inquisitive and is so well mannered and just goes with the flow of things around him. He appreciated his grandparents and loves them very much and is very respectful towards them. I am glad that you had a break and a lovely time with both parents sharing and enjoying everything together as a family. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family and to all on Talasbaun fans. Greetings from Cambridgeshire, UK.
Naturally curious and intelligent baby! Stay safe. Never live where there is snow. I live in California for 31 years and 24 years in the Philippines. Both are always warm.
I agree. It’s always nice to visit but nicer to come home. Especially in the forest or where I live - in the Mountains. Home sweet home. Thank you for sharing. ❤ I have my 5 month old grandson visiting from Colorado for the holiday. I hope to be as good of a grandma as yours. Thanks for sharing your life.
I love this family! Your family is so close and that is beautiful! It’s not that way in a lot of families! It is nice to see your family! God ❤️bless you all!❤️✨✨✨✨
Thank you guys for making us travel with you, I always enjoy Nordic countries landscapes but also the European cities I miss so much, with always such taste, quality and beauty in the ways products are displayed. It so cool to see the fair and a joy to be part of your journey with Mathias' parents. As always you share so much beauty with us and we always learn about something, as I did about salami today. Such a joy to see you all reunited with the grand-parents on both sides. Gratitude for the treasures you bring us every month, for me it is a blessing! I wish you and the whole family a beautiful holiday season. Much love from Montreal! Tack så mycket! Kiitos paljon! 🙏💙
Wonderful video! It was so much fun seeing the festival and the beautiful stores. I do hope Ivar gets his trains; he is precious! It is obvious that his grandparents enjoy him. I too, enjoy my grandchildren. Thank you for your sweet comments about grandparents.
Thank you for sharing this family time ❤. And we Love how Ivar is so involved with his grandparents, and his beautiful caracter and personality. I don't have parents or other family, but I celebrated my 25th anniversary with my Love Erwin. My oh my how time flies by, the older I get the faster it seems to go by. So yes, Cherish every moment with each other ,nobody can take that away from you. Have a lovely week together. As always friendly greetings from us :Anne&Harry from Amsterdam. 🖐🐾🐾❤🙏❤🌟🕯 🕯 🕯 ❤✌😘👍
This was so sweet to watch! Ivar seems so curious about the world around him, which is a good quality. So well spoken too! I enjoyed seeing how big and dark the woods look as you were driving to town and back, the beautiful town you visited, all the sights and sounds that must have caught Ivar's attention, and the peace surrounding your home. And the birds! The red breasted one especially was lovely. Thank you for sharing a window into your lives and Yule traditions.
Thank you for sharing your family life and Swedish Yule with us. It’s nice to see how Ivar’s curiosity doesn’t turn to demands for more cars for his train. It felt like he was planning ahead for a longer train. This comes from your fine example. You are blessed to have your parents with you. Have a wonderful Christmas!! 🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄🌲🎄
What a beautiful video! The lights in the town, Ivar enjoying it all and the sauna! Jumping in that cold cold creek. Tasty food and hanging out outdoors with a fire, food and family! Thank you!
Thanks for posting and sharing. Ivar seemed to take the whole trip to town in stride. I thought he would be completely overwhelmed seeing all the goods in the shops. So glad for you all that your parents were able to visit your home and spend time with their grandchild.
A lovely video, so nice to see more of your country and traditions. A child is the best vision, fresh, new and exciting. Grandparents are always the icing on the cake!
thanks for the shout out to grandparents. Its the best job in the world being a grandparent, I have five so I am very lucky. Loved this video I hope he got some wagons for his train!
I really enjoyed this video . It was great to see the sites in the city . Ivar is so smart , just like a little man . Love to you all and Merry Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas dear family, I love watching your videos. Our life is so different in my country. We are in summer now, in our country it never snows, we don’t know what a dressing room is, or have a cold bath in the river. Love to dear Ivar, so beautiful! Anabel from Uruguay, South America.
It was so lovely seeing you with your families and that Ivar got to spend time with them. Such a special time together! As a Nanny myself I know I value spending time with all my grandchildren when I can. Unfortunately 3 of them live in another state. Here in Australia it's a 3 day drive just to get there 😪 We still try when we can to see them and of course Facetime all the time! Nothing is more important in life than the relationships with our loved ones ❤
It is always so wonderful to see the latest videos, especially at this time of year, and all year. Thank you again for lighting our days with your stories.
Merry Christmas Mathias, Tova, and little Ivar. Thank you for another year of inviting us into your life and home. Much love and blessings from Ontario, Canada ❤
