We need to accept the fact the forest nothing 256x mod is becoming a competitive game mode and start funding development for a spec overlay that tells you how many times a player has researched double bit axe and other techs.

I think the tree is first a building with a small heathbar. So after sappers, villagers kill the tree faster. That's my theory.

trees have health and it takes villager 2 hits to "kill" a tree before he starts gathering wood. sappers makes vills hit harder, so they "kill" trees in 1 hit. see? forest nothing makes you know more about game mechanics :D

Competitive Deforestation. Divide the largest map size into 4 equal quadrants using cliffs, have a trigger for 0 trees in your quadrant = win.

How do the words "tired of" and "Forest Nothing" end up in the same sentence? This is by far the most fun stuff I've seen in any RTS. Pure economy focus, insane shenanigans and simulation of exponential growth all in one. Sign me up.

I actually have a sleep disorder, my employer lets me work from home when it hits.

I think Persians could potentially be faster. Faster working TCs helps the whole game while the market bonus only helps the beginning. Also 50 bonus food and wood helps too.

Maybe for it to be an "official" speedrunning challenge, a custom map should be made where the tc is for example always in the middle and the AI in a corner. The more your tc is in the middle, the better for you as all Corners can be accessed rather fast I think.

I remember doing my first forest nothing when I was a small schoolgirl and bored, and had warcraft 2 that was too hard for me to play, so I just cut trees in full map of fucking trees. It was my childhood.

I know this vid is 2 years old, but you should make a game with like 4 players where they can’t attack but have to chop/mine the whole map and you look at the stat screen to declare winner at the end

I'm surprised by how strong the forest nothing trend has been. Lots of potential for a speedrun category ironically. I would make my own "forest nothing" games as a kid because I was kind of bad and it gave me time to build up. Didn't know any commands aside from resource cheats so I had to find creative ways to keep the AI from resigning. Also the crappy laptop I was using couldn't run a full small size map of trees without lagging so I would plonk a river down the middle and let the Ai start next to it. Giving it something to do by exploring the river killed two birds with one stone.

That's a way to win FN. Steal all the wood of your oponents 😂 nothing to trade left, easy win afterwards...

Goths would be the best civ; the huskarls would eat up the TC fire in case the opponent garrisons when you get to him. This strat might be so OP that it goes under the radar for a long time

He could convert the enemy villagers with a monk and then deleting the monk after all conversions where made. That gives him extra vils. I used to do that back in the day when the demo of aoc was released. I just walled the last enemy tc and converted every villager he created. I enden having like 1.2k vils. Good old days. :)

persian would be a nice choice because of higher TC work rate (worth the shot) and even 50+ food for start, could make difference in long run in this particular case

I have NO IDEA how his vills didn’t completely glitch out and stop cutting. On HD I go for wheelbarrow more than 15-20 times and my vills are worthless - moving too fast to build or cut anything. This has to be a Voobly thing that improves performance?

What I want to know is how fast these villagers are moving, like using something in game to get a scale of how many ft/pixel and I wouldn't be surprised if they surpass the land speed record

If the goal is to have no tree on the map, maybe it would be faster to chop the tree and then place a building on it so it disappears, then chop the next ones, for example always use a house to delete the tree in the beginning as its faster, it gives you no wood, but it could be viable at some point

I wonder if Indians might be a good shout for it. Once you get up and rolling on market the bonus doesn't seem that much for 5 more wood or so. Whereas you're saving a lot of food for every vill so saving food trade and more early chopping upgrades.

I'm loving the forest nothing stuff, but I'd like to see some 3 and 5x tech mod games. Still stupid, but not completely insane like 256x is

About the sappers upgrade, i guess its because the trees count as buildings, so they get over the 5hp un one hit instead of 2

I would honestly go with/try huns. The market (buying/selling) might be a issue but otherwise, you would reach max pop of villagers with ease.

I don't get the wood collected stat at the end? 1434832? Shouldn't it be a multiple of 100?
